She has other styles in her wheelhouse too. You could put Haruna in HELLOWEEN right now, and NOBODY would complain! The solo section of "Dystopia Symphony".... Haruna goes into Gene Hoglan mode! I sh1t myself when I first heard that song. Haruna blows my mind.
Asami is all of 5' tall and petite like all of the band members, and is shy and reserved off stage...BUT.. put on her high heels and white dress, give her a crowd and she becomes this stage beast. She commands the crowd, keeps the band driving especially LIVE and belts out a booming blast that makes you wonder where the hell did that come from!! She never sang a metal song before joining the band having come from the R & B/Soul/Jazz background but man has she become the perfect front person for this band. The Midori/Miyako duo needs no mentioning as the M & M show dominates almost everything this group does. The real drivers of this insanely talented group are Miho/bass (founder and true metal-head) and the 4' 9" human dynamo that makes the Energizer Bunny look like a wimp Haruna/drums!! Haruna never ever hear the words STOP or SLOW DOWN as a child and it shows in her playing. Pick anything you want to listen to (except Bloodstock videos as the sound quality SUCKS thanks to a lousy audio engineering job) and I dare you to find one bad song...these women can't be anything but flawless and epic what ever they perform.
