Yep, and it has come straight (no pun intended) through the public funded colleges. They have been corrupted, and they are shoving it down whoever's throat they can. They've been to pass it off as the new norm. Now, they're letting them adopt kids and are sexualzing them as they were. It's criminal and should be charged when they do this. You can't even spank your kid anymore, but you can confuse them into believing they're not normal if they want to be the sex they were born as. It's disgusting.
If they were all as classy, mature and respectful as this person, then there would be no problems. Note how she said she didn't want to impose anything on anyone. THAT is the major difference.
I love at 24:25 where the older lady stood up and complimented her on being attractive and asked about her love life … Once again, another example that when people approach each other in a positive way every one can get the respectful answers that leads to education. Kudos to the way people in the past showed respect regardless of their their personal opinions❤
Trans women have always been here, the only difference is we now have social media and nosy people. When you don't know the person two blocks from you is trans it does not exist to you, but when you are always online watching videos and being nosy on social media then it feels like trans women are everywhere and "forcing it on you" existing is not forcing, you just want it to be the way it was when trans women were hidden from you, but news flash and the honest truth you are a *nobody* to a stranger and their life is *their life* and has absolutely nothing to do with you, when you start paying their bills then maybe you can have a say so, till then your opinion holds no weight and means nothing. Trans women have always been here and will forever be here, get over it.
Wow! This was a pretty risky show in the 1980s (Black or mainstream), looking at some of the other videos you have posted. And I mean that in a good way! I'm new to the DMV so don't didn't grow up knowing about this show. Very interesting!
“ I was supposed to be born a female .” Ng I was supposed to be six feet tall, normal sized head and straight teeth. It didn’t happen. So I was born the way I was born. That right there…. This bs was coddled early and not nipped at the bud.

Sounds like a VERY involved process for a person to receive a sex change. It's my opinion that anyone who makes a conscious decision to go through a process like that which is so involved, there can't be any doubt in their mind that they truly feel they were born the wrong sex. I guess this is something that people on the outside looking in like myself will never fully understand. I do think that people like me need to stop fooling ourselves though. I've seen men so feminine that they were actually more feminine that most women. I don't think that people make a conscious decision to act feminine. I believe certain men have feminine characteristics because that's just the way they are. On another note though, a lot of people think that these kinds of operations are just becoming popular in the modern day, but I don't fully agree with that. I think people are just more open about it now. I recall my Mom getting a visit from a woman once. The woman was just stopping by to say hello. This was in the late 80s or early 90s. The woman didn't stay long, but when she left, my Mom was like, "Don't you remember who that is?" I didn't remember. My Mom then told me that the woman used to be man. I still couldn't remember who the person was though. Guess I was too young to remember. So simply put, most people today don't know one person who has had this surgery, but I can honestly say that the first person I ever knew to have this surgery was over 30 years ago.
As a post operative transexual woman, I am so proud of her! She is a positive and true representation of what a transsexual woman is. I am so proud to call her a sister of mine.
Sharon seemed more humble and not attention seeking! Back then it was a different time! I was born in 82! My Uncle was also transitioning in the 80s’! My Uncle had breast in 86’! My family is from North Philly! I was 4 years old when I saw my Uncle come down the steps with orange nail polish on his toes, terry cloth robe, and rollers. Now, today in the Gayborhood some look believable as a woman; while there are some that look like men in drag!
I'm not sure about the looks part but Sharon definitely conducts herself more loving, respectful, and feminine than the average black American woman today.
Tysm for sharing this historical moment on TV, 1988 so cool. And Sharon is so eloquent and describes everything perfectly with truth but in a way that everyone can understand. Ms. Sharon, you're now a new trans idol for me ❤ awareness is everything ❤ So brave to be open and out, especially in the 80's and well spoken, matter of fact answer's questions on the spot and she is cool as a cucumber, no hesitation or nervousness a champion!
Omg I can’t believe I found an interview with Sharon Davis, I read her book. You can’t found anything information about her now at all. I wonder where is she now, I know she had a boyfriend and they did a interview in Jet Magazine; I wonder did they get married.
This is really whay it was luke in the 80s. There was some bad stuff that happened but respect was essential. I knew so many transsexuals when I was a kid. For example an 'Aunt' who dated a family member, no one referred to her as a man..I only knew because her laughter was deep and I asked my mom and she said well she still a man but, you don't ask her questions about that..I was 7. We've lost respect for each other as humans
This was amazing to watch Sharon is so beautiful and so classy and so poise and the way she handled those questions which so class even when people thought they could get under her skin they tried but they couldn’t
Define what you feel when you hear a trans person thinks “they’re better” . What makes women better outside of being incubators for 9 months without the possibility of keeping a man 👀

Very informative interview. I love how she answered the question in regard to her being born male being a mistake or not. I hope she is somewhere in The Universe thriving and living her best life 💛
These were the real ones, the transsexuals, I used to see a few of them in the 1980s at the clubs. They were seen as rare and sometimes hard to spot, some may compare that for 'passing' as it's known as today and for the most part they tended to avoid the general population barring their closer connections (the only other trans were the 'transvestites' I saw more of those if anything even during the daytime) but they were usually found at clubs or gigs mostly if you were to find one. They were actually pleasant folk and most people actually respected them enough to call them 'she' or 'he' for the much rarer female-to-male transition and some ladies had no issue with the bathrooms then despite the stuff with April Ashley in the 60s, the current 'transgender' as it's now known with different things such as non-binary, agender, gender fluid do a different approach and demand respect. I feel bad for the transsexuals in todays world. I hope if any of you see this and I mean the proper ones hope you're having a good life ladies and gents.
Alot of people need to watch this interview she described her experience so well in terms that people might more understand this was in the 80s im sorry but Alot of Trans people cannot articulate it their feelings so that people can understand because I've heard alot of gay men say they didn't understand the Trans experience
As a transsexual woman, I agree that God doesn’t make mistakes. To say that God made a mistake would imply that he’s imperfect, and we know, or should know that he is perfect. However, I do think that I was put on this earth to educate ignorant people, such as yourself about this medical condition and the importance of getting a sex change.

"More female chromosomes than male" implies XXY which is also known as Kleinfelter's Syndrome, a birth condition which is also encompassed within what is now referred as the "INTERSEX" category, previously known simply as "HERMAPHRODITES". Kleinfelter's Syndrome (KS) is the most common intersex birth condition for males, about 1 in every 500 male births. BUT NOTICE, born females may also be born with Kleinfelter's Syndrome, although females born with KS are much less frequent than males born with KS, about in every 150,000 female births. INTERSEX, comprising about 40+ intersex birth conditions, accounts for just over 2% of the population, both in America and World-wide.
Thanks for that information. It’s a possibility that she has that condition. It’s sad that some folks have a tough life, it didn’t break this individual and hopefully others are given hope watching this interview.
These are some well spoken black people. It almost sounds too proper and stiff that includes the host, guest and commercials. And this isn't a racist comment. I'm black and from Baltimore.
They never could have but that didn't stop babies from being born, look it's not your thing and you don't have to love with what this person had to, do you really think that someone would choose this particular life with the harassment and mental abuse that they has to endure from God hating them to family members hating them, it's still enough ppl in the world for kids to be born and this person life style shouldn't bother you one way or another unless you feel intimidated about your own personal feelings because you may like them but peer pressure makes you a bully

Hello I full-blown @gree with you ❤
They have been trying to normalize this for decades. Now we see it come to fruition in modern day. Tragic.
☠️
If they were all as classy, mature and respectful as this person, then there would be no problems. Note how she said she didn't want to impose anything on anyone. THAT is the major difference.
@@emmagatewood3898 well if she’s not disclosing that she’s trans she’s definitely imposing!

It’s been here for ages and I say let them be

The one thing I wonder though, when it comes to time in the age range of prostate exams what do they do?
Nothing that part is removed.
@spinrash6000 No, they still have to get it done.
They don’t remove the prostate, a transwoman wanted to have gynecological exam and the doctor said you don’t have a uterus or cervix, so it was no. But they would eventually have to have a prostate exam
They still have a prostate, which still has to be checked in the same way as other men.

So since it's been 38 yrs that have passed and I'm just now finding this video...who wants part 2?
Agreed. You’d be surprised how many reverse the transition though.

God doesn’t make no mistakes so you don’t cut off or add something that is fully healthy and functional.
As a transsexual woman, I agree that God doesn’t make mistakes. To say that God made a mistake would imply that he’s imperfect, and we know, or should know that he is perfect.

In 2024 men still cannot have babies.
