Oh man this tutorial real good. This guy is real good on teaching. Just found the channel and he makes it pretty simple to understand Devops with test cases, etc. Keep up the great work.
Hi! Thank you for the tutorial! It was really helpful for me and clear! You covered all needed topics to create test cases and managed to explain it succinctly and effectively!
Hey - i know its been years since this video is posted. I set the process as agile and if i follow the steps of running test cases and create bug out of test cases, its not auto-filling the steps as it showed in the video. Am i missing something?
Core functionality is still same for Azure DevOps. You shall create defect from the test execution popup window and it will pull steps information. This works as shown in the video in Azure DevOps. If you create defect from Dashboard or Work Items view, then it will not pull up steps information as steps info is only available during execution. Hope this helps.
Business analyst creates user stories as they are requirements. Development team can review and provide input but it is typically owned by Bisiness Analyst or sometimes Product owners.
@@intellixsoftware296 yes for test plan we need to go to organization settings and have to start the Free trial under billing options. But we can indeed create a test case from the user story under boards. So again, test plan needs billing/license, a test case can be created from a story or an issue.
@@anku824 Hi Billing is not an issue for the Projects on which we work, right,Our Organization pays for that? My query is that in terms of best practices, should we create Test cases directly from the PBIs/requirements/issues or we should create a Test plan & under that v should create Test cases? Which r the right steps for the same as there r concepts of various Test suites like static, req based etc and under that test cases ?
Thanks for sharing this video sir..Is that anyway to remove the Shared Test Step for Example : 1. I am adding one test case under the User Story using add test as Test 1 2. Using the Test 1 adding the Test Step for ex : (logging in the Sysadmin) and i have done the created shared steps 3. Now, creating the another Test Case as Test 2 and i have done the Inserted shared steps 4. Is that possible to remove the created shared steps.
What do u mean by FT? You can create Test Plan (you need additional license in DevOps) and create tests there. Easiest would be to add test from User Story.
You can write acceptance criteria (AC) as part of user story. You won't be able to automate AC. BDD u can create test automation. You will need to look at other tools - i.e. Ruby/Java/C#, Selenium, Development IDE like RubyMine or IntelliJ or Visual Studio to create and write Automation Tests.

Is there a way to take multiple Test Plans from within the same project and place them all under 1 main test plan without messing up metrics?
I have to add an attachment to multiple test cases which are under the same test suite. Can I do it one go?
Does the business analyst usually upload the user story or does the developer? If developer, how are the user stories submitted
Business analyst creates user stories as they are requirements. Development team can review and provide input but it is typically owned by Bisiness Analyst or sometimes Product owners.
Hi ....should test plan be enabled for writing test case?
No it is not necessary. U can directly create test case from user story in Azure Devops.
