cool. i remember we used to do this conditioning exercises before Russian (Vaganova) class way when "we" were younger... Thanks for video it. it helps. Cheers!
I have a question I would really appreciate you answering. I am a dancer and I my heels can’t touch when I stand with my legs turned out because my knees won’t let my heels touch. It’s like there’s a bone in my knee that stops my lower legs go any further together after my knees touch and it causes problems when I dance can you help me?
Hey, Rebecca. I'm not the lady in the video but have been a dancer for many years and a teacher. Sounds like you have hyperextended knees, this is very common, I see a lot of dancers with this. I would look into how to correct hyperextended knees, there's exercises you can do with resistance bands and such. The other thing to think about is to basically not fully extend your knees, it's going to feel super weird and like you're slightly bending your knees but that will keep them from going into hyperextension (I have hyperextended elbows, so I know how weird it feels when I try to not hyperextend them) lol I also know some dancers just have their first position not touch. I would recommend trying to correct the issue though for injury prevention if you can.
