I love the scorpions and I found the lonesome crow in white vinyl and was blown away by this incredible work of art. I was blessed to meet Micheal in Milwaukee of course I never say anything that doesn’t totally embarrass me. So this meeting was no exception. Truly the scorpions best and the two Schenkers are unequalled against any brother combination. In looks and talent❤️❤️👏👏👏Bravissimo!
No one can take you on a ride like Schenker does with his amazing depth and range as he takes you to all those soulful and melodic to intense and soaring places.
Holy What?, I gave up on the thought of hearing this live years ago…. It’s such a dream come true, that was insanely good! I’m speechless..Michael Schenker is an alien!
Indeed! Those were the same days UFO with Bernie Marsden were touring Germany and they saw Scorpions play for the very first time! They were all blown away with that blond kid's skills and charisma!
Nothing short of amazing! I saw him play with his band for the first time about 3 or 4 years ago and I bought and got his signature on an affordable version of his flying V before the show at the local guitar showcase! There was a long line and the one thing I noticed most, was that for the most part he kept his head down and shared few words! Keeping primarily focused on signing the guitars. Finally, when it was my turn!!! (Shit eat'n grin on my face) There I was... standing in front of the great Michael Schenker! he took my newly bought guitar and began to sign! Kind of in a state of shock... I only said this "Lonesome Crow" he stopped his pen in the middle of his signature and looked up at me. Nothing else was said! We saw eye to eye for about 10 seconds. Okay! okay! It was more like 7. Anyway I saw him play that night and had a one in a life time experience. Cool thing was that after the show, as everyone moved slowly out of the building I could here all the different fans saying the same thing as I walked by different groups of fans and different doors of egress. "Wow!" "what a show!" "not normal!" "Usually he only plays for an hour and bolts!" "Can't believe he played so many of my favorite songs" etc. Better yet, he had like 5 different singers sing throughout the night and for the encore they all came out and sang together! Awesome! at the time I only knew his work in "Lonesome Crow" and an instrumental tune a friend played for me on a cd From MSG that took me to the cosmos and back! (Have not been able to find the tune since my first hearing in the late 90's). What I didn't know then was that the singers were from his band long career as Michael Schenker Group! They each sang the songs from the LP they were part of! Lastly The epic song "Rock Bottom", for me! Had been born. What a treat! This Novel long comment is only a tribute and an appreciaction for this shared live footage you have provided. Thank you RonnyStrings
Out a year before I was born - but good god what a masterpiece their debut was. Rare for a band but they released their best stuff early in the '70s. Wish I had been there live. Lonesome Crow through Tokyo Tapes is stunning to me. '72!
This is a nice surprise to hear a live version of this song but the original version is the best, it's a tour de force for young Michael Schenker who was only 16 or 17 years old when Scorpions recorded their debut album, in the last days i listen more and more to the debut album of Scorpions and i think it's a fantastic debut album, Michael Schenker was unbelievable all along the album and Klaus Meine showed his powerful voice, operatic abilities and his emotional range, all the members of the band played very well, especially the bass player, i believe the debut album is underrated among Scorpions fans and in general also among rock/metal fans, as i said before, it's a fantastic album, thanks for sharing.
Here's my time travel wish list. To travel back to Hamburg Germany October 1971 to see this young band in the studio with the genius krautrock producer Conny Plank! I think this recording provides some insight into the crazy beautiful soundscapes that Conny crafted on top of the band. It's like the soundtrack to forbidden planet with all those swirling tape oscillations!! So what I hear from this recording is Michael making some crazy pick scraping noises and feedback. I think Conny took those noises and ran through echoplex tape echo and other devices to organically augment and create the beautiful transitions we hear on Lonesome crow. Michael does a great job in this live recording to make interesting transitions between the various sections of this song! Fascinating time capsule - thanks for posting!
I'm going through the rest of this, now that I know this exists. I've been waiting for 37 years to hear this live. I knew that there had to be a live recording somewhere. Excellent!
To hear the Scorpions this early in they're career is amazing, this is priceless I wished I could hear the whole show I was just listening to Evening Wind people comment things like the real scorpions is with Uli Roth (with respect) I disagree this recording is as raw as it gets Just the band and there instruments now I can say they got to where they are today because they where way better then the rest. That is the real Scorpions. Thank you for posting this it is truly a great piece of rock history.
Wow, love every time a new gem from way back scorpions is added. Fan since 1980... sadly first time seeing them will be in Vegas April 2022, make it if u can everyone. I got front row seats. There really was very little old footage available. Check out the swiss footage added, mind blowing :)
Yes, that Swiss upload is the only video of the Scorpions playing live with Ulrich Roth in the 70's. By the way there are very small snippets of live video recordings of the Scorpions lineup with Michael Schenker from the early 70's on YT, let me know if you can't find them I know them.
If I’m not mistaken this is before Rudolph was even in the band, I remember Michael saying he had a friend named Klaus who can sing. And I don’t have any rhythm guitar in this, I don’t think Rudolph is even here at this point.
Is this the same drummer on the album lonesome crow? In 1973, he was miles ahead of the upcoming next generation.. just a pity he decided to make some not so clever decisions, I seen him play in his first outing with MSG, think it may have been 1982 or whatever his first tour year was with MSG .. he was very good, the usual very good sound/tone and polished performance but i thought it wa a step back from UFO or the Scorpions for that matter, he sounds bitter when he speaks these days and if im honest a bit sad & silly, he should never have went solo, i think the huge success of the scorpions leaves a sour taste in his mouth which he sadly sounds just foolish trying to demonise others for the bad decisions he made, both UFO and scorpions wanted him to stay in their line ups, his solo material is average compared to his playing with proper band line ups.. yet still, he's without doubt a guitar legend.
Scorpions had so much more character a solid hard rock direction when Uli Jon Roth joined a few months later!!!!…Plus Uli is light years better guitarists than Michelle Skank hair…😂🤩

Unbelievable, Michael was only 18 here, what a great talent, a true virtuoso on the guitar!!
I like the feedback on demand. Hold a note and there it is . lovely
One of the best Michael Schenker's live performance ever

The first album is still my favorite.
good classic in my books

I did not see this coming! Bindwlowing...er,mindblowing!
Awesome. F Yeah.
Thank you God !!!

Thanks much for this! A really amazing record too! More please.
О боже, откуда он вытаскивает эти звуки? Великий Майкл! ❤❤❤

Q modesto eram eles e hoje tá estrondoso quem trab com dignidade consegue eles são há prova viva
Orgulho.
the true Holy Grail....
Page was cool, but I never got a charge out of his playing the way I do with Michaels.
Holy crap, where did you find this?! I knew something would come out someday, thank you man! 👍
Scorpions: live in Minden, West Germany 1973. Easy to find here at YT
@@oldmcmetal3688 lol, of course it's easier now but 6 months ago it was brand new upload, never seen before on internet..

To me Schenker is playing much more fluent on this one than he did in his early UFO years

Poderia ter vídeos desse época dos Scorpions, 1971 a 1974, para nós fãs.
Took some page and made it his own. 😏
uli Jon Roth is an incredible guitar player I wish the scorpions could have convinced him to stay
If I’m not mistaken this is before Rudolph was even in the band, I remember Michael saying he had a friend named Klaus who can sing. And I don’t have any rhythm guitar in this, I don’t think Rudolph is even here at this point.
Rudolf was the founder of the band in 1965. Michael and Klaus played together in another band and joined the Scorpions later.
Wow, when the song starts moving along ? Man it sounds like some alice in chains ? Like the way he sings, and the chord progression sounds like AIC.
Alice In Chains? I like them - but no.
@@brianh2787 that's ok, it's a subjective thing
with the first American drummer they ever had
I think this band has had more drummers than Spinal Tap.🤩
Rudolph must be at the bar having some drinks ? 🤔
Best seat in the house to watch a damn fine guitarist.
Some Jimmy page phrasing there

No, Wolf Dziony is playing drums on the LC lp.
The drummer here is Jos Wymann , a young American student of 19 drafted after Wolfgang had other commitments and ddnt tour.

Drugs of shit
With a scorpions he vould have grest career. Rudolf wasnt jelous of michael ability ? Maybe it was imposible
