Do try Breakfast fro Kelantan & Terengganu, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dagang... and in those states itself there are so many breafast food... the have a breakfast culture of their own...
If porridge/congee you should try the teochew one... They have many condiments to eat with he congee... Or try the malay version at bubur nasi Melawati at the Saville Melawati apartments... Also in the mall, try I love yoo porridges (their porridge are flavored with dried scallops if I am not mistaken), also you will have a 'yoo tiao' (aka chakoi by the malays) to dip into the porridge or you can also have the crispy version of the yoo tiao and scatter it in the porridge.
Roti canai has few types of gravy. For non spicy, ask for dhal curry (only the yellow curry) as it is non-spicy. Usually for kids, we start the kids with roti canai with condensed milk (without the curry). You can ask for roti canai with susu manis (condensed milk)
U can order teh o ais kosong (without sugar), teh o ais kurang manis (less sugar) or teh o ais limau (ice lemon tea, although it is mostly calamansi instead of lemon as calamansi is local and widely available) Generally, all food are consumed throughout the day. Although generally, morning meal is simpler and less ‘heavy’ and heavier towards dinner time. It can be sweet or savoury too. Roti canai, I always order roti telur bawang (roti with egg and onion) and dhaal as dipping sauce. U can also try thosai or chapati.
In KL, we are still grinding in Borneo and then other countries ahaha But thank you for having us! Malaysia mainland has been amazing and so has Sabah been
What, your last video in KL, well, anyway, hope that you guys have had a good time and a pleasant stay in KL. There are plenty more you guys can do in KL the next time around.
@carmaadventures You guys can always come back for another visit, there's a lot of free attractions in KL that you guys may have not noticed. All the best to your future travels. 😀
I love Hon Kee porridge. Their porridge is silky smooth. Takes a long slow cooking to make it silky. I think they dont blend them as blending will cause the porridge to be thick and sticky. Theirs isnt as sticky, so im guessing they follow the old rules by slow boil😅
What a wonderful breakfast in KL. Most of the comfort food are very affordable. Hope that you guys liked the breakfast styles, traditions in Malaysia. Where's nasi lemak for breakfast.
@carmaadventures Nasi lemak by far is one of the most popular comfort food for Malaysian. It's also the Malaysia national dish. Recently it has been recognized by UNESCO. Must try for breakfast next time. 😀
@carmaadventures not into roti canai for morning meal if i am taking heavy breakfast, nasi lemak is the best and we burned the calories for the day.. Then.. I will have my roti canai for my supper with friends LOL.
You need to eat Raw Rojak, Mamak Rojak, Hakka Yong Tau Foo in Puchong and then you need to eat Popiah (or Spring Rolls) but Raw and Sarang Burong Roti.
I would suggest you invite one lucky followers join you for roti canai teh tarik breakfast ..haha..somehow like a VVIP couple invitation ..must be like a splendid moment 4 both
I’m pretty sure they have teh o ais! However, in Chinese restaurants they are known as “teh o ping”. Fellow Chinese Malaysians, pls correct me if I’m wrong. I have not been back to Malaysia for quite a while😅
Is that roti Bom? Have you tried roti pisang (banana)? Dam...long time I'm not eaten it, now I'm craving it🤤 usually eat it with condensed milk, but it can get too sweet
We were so surprised, in a good way... Not this time around but Malaysia has left us wanting more so we will definitely come back 🤩 Appreciate your support watching our videos 🫶
Roti is one of the very affordable ones. It usually comes with dhal curry by default. The heat level usually around 3 of 10 for dhal. its not that spicy. The red one is sambal. Heat level depends on the restaurant. Usually around 5 of 10. If you want my list of restaurants, I can mail it to you.
We used to have teh o ice limau to start with and we loved it! One day we decided to try normal teh o ice and never went back to limau... we clearly have a favourite!
Second Location. Al Amma Restaurant is packed with customers. I went there if I'm in KL staying at Masjid India area. very very affordable and delicious.
According to TasteAtlas, roti canai is the fourth best bread to eat in 2025. Roti canai is a traditional pan-fried flatbread that originated in India but is primarily associated with Malaysia and other nearby countries. It's made from flour, water, eggs, and fat, and is often served with curries. Roti canai has also been ranked as the second best dish in the world by TasteAtlas. It was the only Malaysian dish to make TasteAtlas' list of the world's best foods.
WOW!!! Thank you for sharing. That is incredible, we didn't know about TasteAtlas, will be looking into that for more food recommendations... I think that Roti Canai should be number 1, just saying 👀👀
