It's currently still on sale on the website for 6k. And it's been about half a year. I think the guy wa s lucky to get 4k. The show only ran for 1 season which means it had limited time to really settle into people's imagination. A longer running show would have more pull and thus a bigger fan base of people who might want something like that. HR Pufnstuf is just too obscure and this sad foam candle just doesn't seem like a big ticket item. Overvalued IMO.
@@mat5473 this is why they always try to get it for the lowest price, sometimes they do great and buy something that sells for a lot of money, sometimes they don't and may even take losses, if that candle stays on the shop for more than a year and someone says, hey, I'll give you $4,000 they might sell it
Same here. After he pays all the auctions fees and if he's lucky to find a good buyer, it seems like he'd break about even.
Oh my gosh, that was so cool! I grew up watching this show in the 1970's so I absolutely know that candle. It's bigger than I thought it would be and so awesome to see, but dude, you should have given him the price he was asking for b/c that is some serious TV history!

I remember 'HR Puff n' Stuff' and vaguely recall seeing the film in New Zealand. I believe here in UK it surprisingly never ran on TV. Mama Cass was great in it.

You just might be right about that. I checked two of the major scenes in HR pufnstuf where there is a talking candle and that is not the same candle. Not even close. I would like to see that special you are talking about. I will try to find it.

Mr. Brown watched HR Pufnstuf when he was younger and was the winner in the first candle auction before he sold it to the guy who sold it on Pawn Stars. They all got along famously!

Looked up a H.R.Pufnstuf video on RUclips, the one on Pawn Stars in not even close to an original episode of the candle stick on H.R. Pufnstuf. The original had a pointy nose and legs
I was just young enough that HR Puffenstuff scared the living daylights out of me. My Grandma watched one episode with me and said NEVER AGAIN. Of course it wasn't until I was much older that I started to understand all the side references in the show.....and yes, in my opinion, the Kroff Brothers were higher than kites when they created this.......and upgraded to LSD when making Lidsville LOL🤣🤣🤣

the show came out 50 years ago for two seasons and was rerun another year.... you must have seen it in reruns.
Sadly, not from the 1969 TV series HR Pufnstuf! It's from the "Krofft Superstar Hour" in 1978. There was a small segment called 'Horror Hotel' (the candle was seen on the checkin desk.)

As a kid growing up in the 90s, I remember that they had this in re-runs. Great corny show. Loved it. And it’s H.R. not H&R, show some respect.

I'm 24 and I grew up watching HR Puffin Stuff my dad loved it so he rented it from Block Buster and then burned all of them so we could watch them whenever. I love I Can say I am 24 and have seen HR. I grew up with a lot of old stuff.
Wonder what the H and R stood for. But Pufnstuf definitely sounds like something that was inspired by what also inspired Puff the Magic Dragon.

I’ve heard people say “H R” stood for “Hand Rolled” as in Hand Rolled Pufnstuff. Could be just a rumor but does seem to fit.

Yeah and he does not even pronounce the name of the show properly. It is not H&R puf and stuff it is HR puff and stuff. I also do not think it was nhr puff and stuff at all. I have located two episodes so far and it is the same candle in each one and it is not the candle that he brought into Pawn stars.

Can anyone confirm that this was used in the show? This looks nothing like the talking candle in Dr Blinky's office. Was there another candle somewhere?
There is another scene that I think is from a different episode all together where the boy is singing to that vulture character while he is holding or talking candle and that one is the same candle and Dr blinky's office. Neither of them are the one on Pawn Stars
