What a pity, I had that scare with one of my dogs some years back, I just had her 2 weeks and she disappeared in the mountain on one of our daily walks, I searched for hours and eventually gave up because it became dark.
When I came home, fully intending to keep searching the next day, I found her lying in front of the fire.
The missus told me she arrived a few hours earlier and she said that she would've called me, but since I don't carry phone on me.....
The "joke" was on me.
Sheba's done that disappearing act a few times over the years now and every time she goes home when she can't find me and Loki.

My heart goes out to our poor, domesticated animals when they are lost in the wilderness. Dogs especially do not know how to survive too well. They are pack animals like their wild cousins. Cats do better, but they probably would lose the battle for life in the woods eventually, also.
I had a cat that someone trapped and dropped off at a road to a fish hatchery in the middle of the forest that surrounds where I live in the town, Sitka, Alaska. The only road, and the only people were at that hatchery. She was out there for three weeks before I could catch her. She was skinny, smelly, confused and fearful. There is no doubt she battled mink, and they are really nasty little creatures. They leap onto their hind legs when they fight another animal and hiss and screech while they show their claws and teeth. Fascinating to watch, but not fun to think of your little pet facing that. My poor kitty, who was not yet one year old, was covered in scars and open fight-wounds when I finally got her. After that "adventure" when she was startled by my dog, she would take that "mink stance" and face him while hissing.
But every pet who is found gives hope to all others who have lost an animal. They do have some survival skills, and many have lasted a long time in the wild. The last thing we need to do is pessimistically give up too soon. I will pray for Falkor, and for all the good souls who are searching.

There is special dogs trained to search lost dogs or people (mantrailing). Borsoi are expensive dogs and maybe someone stole it.
All creatures great and small! They are all important!
"Sometimes dogs will be attracted to a campfire." My malamute, Atilla got away one night. I found him four miles from home. He had found a new home construction where the workers stayed late. I saw a firelight and followed it.
When I came out of the woods, the workers were startled and ask me if I was looking for a wolf. I told them I was looking for my dog. They said " is that him by the fire? He won't let us by the fire. He has taken it over."

Definitely sounded like a dog barking at exactly 5:17. I know there were geese there, but that was either a dog or deerbuck bark. Maybe Falcor barking at the geese?

Put some of the owners' clothes in last location the dog was seen. My Uncle used to do this with his hunting dogs who wandered off.. I hope you find the dog!
Sometimes if the owner leaves a coat with there scent on it , the dog will find it and stay with it

I have had a Barzoi in the past. One time he have escape for four days before than whe found him at less than one kilometer from where he escape.
I hope than he will found back his familly.
Be carefull he can bite because of he will be affraid level 200. You can bite him in return he will be surprised.
Search where you see some wild animals tracks, he may follow an animal sometime.
I don't know this one, but the Barzoi, that don't come back too much when you call.
Maybee than you can use your drone sometime.
A blanquet or a nest could be usefull to maitain him in case of he whant to eat you. .

Hello Bjorn, I just saw part 1 and it did bring back so many emotions from the past where I had a dog.
And it's a good thing!!! You were already a great person in my opinion but that!!!
This is a super good example of someone caring for others.
We should all sometime forget about our sorry existence and problems and try to give and help other's instead.
Individualism now rule our society and that's a shame.
So you make us remember what is really important in life.
I praise your determination, courage and kindness.

Bringing your own dogs along might have additional observations by both the missing and your dogs' senses.
In searching for a lost dog it can be helpful to put out pieces of dirty clothing of the owner in the area where the dog has been seen.
Also in that place put the food that the dog is used to. Check that spot pretty often. Change the clothes often, you want a strong scent of the owner. That dog is a sight hound their nose is way stronger than ours but not as strong as a tracking dog's nose.
So keep the clothes rotated.

Dogs will often seek out a home when lost….can you send the drone over some of the houses out there in case he is hiding around one of the buildings?

Bjorn your axe could be used like a water witch’s divining rods. Your unconscious knows where the dog is. You just need a language to communicate with your unconscious.

Well, I didn't see a dead dog, but I can tell you that dog is dead. Most dogs won't last too long in the wilderness if you let them.

What about setting a big trap with a metal cage ? Check the trap once or twice a day

A tracking staff would help find him,I'm amazed you of all people are not using one
You must understand I am not the only one searching and that I had a specific job here. On a different note, please explain what a tracking staff is. I am not familiar with that term.
@@BjornOutdoors a tracking staff has notches and ring cuts in the staff , with mile marker and direction markers, there used to measure stide directions and also helps line up line of sight with. Brush, keeps a person in a straight line also , cancels out the dommint foot or leg
That would probably work great in an area with better visibility.

No, the owners have had people reporting they have seen it, but it has not yet been found.
Bjorn, if the dog is fed fresh meat - put his favorite up in the air. If he eats tinned food record the sound of a tin being opened. If he eats dog biscuits or kibble... shake some in the dog food bag. 😁 Stomach first. ❤ Doggo come to Bjorn😇

I urge all of you to look at the entire drone footage for any trace of the dog, and pause each time you have to blink. It's the least we can do to support Bjorn's noble cause.
