Honestly when I first heard this guy sing: I knew he would win anerican idol. To me if you can tell a story so clear, it doesn't matter about all the vocal tricks or how the notes need to compete. The energy from the story will keep listeners there with you and it makes the song feel better and personal. That's what I saw as his trump card. He earned his victory and he's doing great. Good man
