I saw this video, and remember when that happened, and the truck you used as example on how the frameless end dump works was me, no worries on it, I just think it's cool I wound up on some ones RUclips video
He was a very nice driver offering help in any way he could. So glad no one was hurt. That could have really been a disaster. Great recovery as always. Please stay safe and God bless.
THE WAY THAT TRAILER DUMPS WAS AMAZING. IT MADE ME SAY WOW WAITING FOR THE TRUCK TO TIP OVER. I HAVE LIVED A VERY LONG TIME BUT NEVER HAVE I SEEN A TRAILER DUMP LIKE THAT. THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO. GOD BLESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that is why I love to watch this channel! You can learn some awesome stuff! Ron's always teaching us something! Thank you Ron Pratt for all that you and your family do!
Thanks Mike, now I feel old. LOL I would need Ron to strap me in and lift me parallel with that hole to scooch in, no way the old knees would survive that. Great video.
Watching you two team work brings out real professional knowledge and dedication to your profession....you are truly blessed. Please keep sharing with us.....we really appreciate them. Blessings. 🙏👠👠
Mike is THE BEST! Such a hard worker, always a great attitude and is never afraid to get in there and make stuff happen! I hope Midwest can keep him with you for years to come!
Mike "gets into" his work and is not afraid to get dirty. A good employee like that is at times hard to find. I nominate him for employee of the year and/or a nice bonus. Stay safe and God bless.
1. I am still amazed that the material straps can handle such heavy loads - we always think of chains for strength, yet the straps do the job without the damage. Amazing. 2. Thanks for the fast-forward time-lapse at the end [53:48] - it is fun. (I have to admit, there have been times when I went to that point first and then went back to see the entire "show" at normal speed.) Yeah, it's fun and instructive to see what went on.
Another safe recovery, great job and as always a great explanation of all the aspects not to mention watching the dump trailer action. Mike certainly is a top hand plus he has a better impact!
I agree with that guy - it was amazing, even to me, and I"ve watched Ron do things like that for a few years worth of videos. Ron's a surgeon with that truck.
Love watching you and Mike work together. Good thing he's thin and agile to get up in the cylinder anchor space. That looked like a challenging procedure without the right tools and talent. Great vid as always!
Hi Ron I hope your family and yourself are doing well after your bereavement and coming back to some sorts of normality. We are doing well and have great news our youngest is having his passing out parade on the 20th can’t wait. Super proud of him we all are he is going to be a helicopter mechanic in the army. Mike has turned out to be a great member of the team you work well together, as always keep safe my friend Ps I really recommend watching Heavy Recovery with Steve on RUclips he is a recovery op here in England and you can see the similarities and differences he is really calm and explains why and how
Good Morning My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir & God Bless You & All Of You're Whole Family & All Of You're Whole Staff Today & I Am Still Praying For All Of The Ones That Is Involved In The Accident & Have A Great & Blessed Afternoon That Is Coming Up
I just want to let you know that I have been watching you for just over 5 years now and I am so glad that I found you!! Keep up the great work that you do and stay safe. Thank you!!!
When I saw two legs inside the truck's cylinder anchor, I asked, what's that, then immediately your message popped up saying: Yes it's Mike inside the cylinder's anchor…. that was hilarious...😂😂😂👍🏽
Just watched your 2018 video"Flying the Bird"....the "tator" is the most amazing machine,I've ever seen ! LOVE THAT TRUCK! I did wrecker work,in the '70s/'80s, (I'm 70 yrs old, now),and I would have LOVED one of these units ! God Bless Y'all, and keep up the good work!
Similar to the comments about Mike’s size. Our maintenance department had a guy who was 6 ft 10 as an electrician. I always said he was only hired because they were too cheap to buy a ladder.
Good morning Ron and the Midwest crew!!! From Georgetown, KY. I noticed that Mike used the rollback as a blocker to prevent anyone from accidentally squeezing into your work space.
Just found your channel. Have a lot to watch to get caught up. Great to watch. Only critique I have is your head camera can make you dizzy when watching on big screen. My hubby laughs when I cover my eyes or look away for a moment. I am fascinated with what your truck can do. You work with great people too. Your calm demeanor & caring & encouragement of fellow crew is to be commended.
Ron, as a suggestion, have Mike run the controls on the tator every now and then. He’ll need some training, but his value as an employee will increase substantially.
Hey Ron & Mike !!! Great job !!! Good that the Driver didn't get hurt !! Saw 1 ""WRECK " with a 10 wheel dump where the ram went thru the top of the box when it was at the top of its extension & Slammed back down causing the driver to have a broken neck from being thrown into the roof of the cab !! Have a good week & Thanks as the Customer seemed well pleased with the recovery !!!😉🤔🤠😎👍👍👍
amazing how you are able to right these flipped equipment. and it does not look worse for ware, you do such a great rigging job to not further damage the unit. thanks for the video, and showing a skilled wrecker does their job.
I spent 6 mo with an old style ~32' end-dump hauling wet toxic ash from the regional incinerator to a "closed" dump that was just topping up before capping. There was a lot of sinkage on the surface causing swaying even when the trailer was down and flat. Then, when you were fully extended dumping and had to move forward ,the truck-trailer would sway wildly maybe up to 20º. Scared the "ash" out of me. Later on the contract shifted to side dump b-trains which were a lot more stable. I never lost the trailer, but it did happen at least once. I really feel for that driver and God bless frameless breakaway a-frames.
Those end dump trailers have always seemed unstable to me when they are dumping. Would have loved to see how you hooked up to it to move it, but nice work on the rollover. Nice and gentle.
Unless they replaced the A-Frame in-situ, they can't hook to it (the A-Frame has the King Pin and without it, you can't connect a Tractor for towing), they'd have to lift it and set it on a Low-Boy Trailer...
@@HappilyHomicidalHooligan In this case we see Ron already has the risers on his lift bar so he will back up to the front of the box, run chains to the bar at the dollys, tie in the red air line to release the brakes, lift and tow the hundred yards to where they want it parked.
@@HappilyHomicidalHooligan Ron's 'Tator has an underreach on it, and they have various ways of hooking up to steel frames. I'm pretty sure Ron would have found what he needed to hook his tow truck up to it.
Good evening Mr.Pratt I just want to say I am a subscriber to your channel and I enjoy it. Also you get into some of the craziest recoveries I have ever seen. I see rotators frequently just towing wrecks so it's nothing new. But you , man get some wild stuff and that makes the video more interesting. I also the relationship you have with law enforcement and the ems personel. Both of those are extremely important in your industry because it's not an everybody's type of job. It takes certain types of people to do your job whether your pulling a wrecked car off the highway or a wrecked and mangled semi, it's just not an everyone's type of a job. You have to like it as a career not just a job. Be safe out there and may God watch over you and your family, friends and extended family. 🙏
Wonderful team of Ron and Mike. I enjoy watching the communication and skills that get the job safely completed. God Bless You and keep your families safe. Iam happy the driver was safe.

I hope Mike gets his youtube bonuses. He is a big part of the show. He works his arse off for you.
Mike is a smart and hard working man.
Ron just wrote a note: "Note to self - Always have a Mike sized guy on staff for crawling into tight places to unbolt stuff!"
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Good idea Mr. Ron .
That is so true.😀😀
Fine. That would be me, if on your crew. Around Six foot tall but thin as a rake.
I was thinking of an Alex sized guy to get into the tiniest spot to unbolt stuff
When I saw 'Mike's here' I went, "Oh! Everything's gonna go fine now!'" because you 2 work so well together.
They do make a great 2 man team.
In Mike you have that rare individual who looks at the job and is prepared to talk if he sees a problem or a better way to do someting
Everybody needs a mike size person for stuff like that
Yes they do!!!! Thank you for watching and God bless.

Mike is a huge asset to Midwest Truck. He is very lucky to have an employer that shows so much appreciation to him.
Yes, Mike is a great person to have on staff. He does what needs to be done. Beautiful roll.

it's great to see how confident Mike has become at rigging and such
So glad you have Mike, love watching him!
good job, Ron! Mike is a good worker and doesn't mind getting in the thick of up. good man!!!

Good morning Ron from Johnston RI. Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend. So glad driver is okay!
Hi Ron, Just you look after Mike, I spent 41 year in the motor industry (RR /Bentley) He is a rare breed
Mike "gets into" his work and is not afraid to get dirty. A good employee like that is at times hard to find.
I nominate him for employee of the year and/or a nice bonus. Stay safe and God bless.

13:27 You can tell Ron stresses safety, Mike went around that cylinder without a second thought instead of ducking under it like most would.
Ya never get under a suspended load!!!!
Just watched your 2018 video"Flying the Bird"....the "tator" is the most amazing machine,I've ever seen !

His tater isn't even the biggest (70 ton). Miller Ind. has an even bigger 100 ton version.
I hope you pay Mike well. The two of you work well together no matter what the job is👍
Good job Ron and Mike! The hardest part of that job was removing the cylinder!
Ron nice job done safely as always. Those trailers are a very interesting the way they they hook up and dump. Thanks for another great video.
I like to learn things every day. Today, I learned that Mike is not claustrophobic. Either that, or he's about to ask Ron for a big raise.
Similar to the comments about Mike’s size. Our maintenance department had a guy who was 6 ft 10 as an electrician. I always said he was only hired because they were too cheap to buy a ladder.

This was a very uplifting operation.
Thankfully!!! Thank you for watching and God bless.
I was wondering where Mike went, then noticed his legs poking out. Dude really gets into his work.

The ingenuity of mankind to save all the back breaking labor is magnificent.
