मैंने आपके lessons से बहुत कुछ सीखा है मैंने अपना एक भोले बाबा का भजन भी बनाया है जो की soulful music 369 channel अपलोड किया है Thanks a lot for precious information
This was a very important video that you made! Thank you for that! I have inside knowledge of this industry, and I know for a fact that even the original singer sings in a lower key when performing live. This is the only way they can preserve their voice during multiple shows. Modern studio recordings are multi track, and singers can sing just 2 high pitched lines and rest for hours before they sing the next line. They can take hours, days or months to record a modern song. Also, in the past, studio recordings were done on spool analog vinyl tapes, which could be played back at slightly higher speeds to make it sound like the singer is singing at a higher pitch. Even radio stations probably played vinyl records at slightly higher speeds.
Thank you mam for guiding us because I used to do such mistakes often but now after watching this video I am aware. Your videos are always helpful for every vocal student.
The margdarshans you provided in this video are very precious. In today's world we can hardly find an instructor like you who shares her complete understanding after lots of trials and eradicating all sorts of errors then leaving us only the Amrit to consume. You are Great madam and I wish you that sangeet may not depart you, even if you get punarjanam the sangeetik technique that you had developed should attach without diminishing its qualities. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ma'am, have you uploaded any video on how to make that fluttery sound like Piyu Bole song or those songs sung by Shreya Goshal? Please send me the link. I want to surprise someone.
its an extremely great content and will help those who are also going through these situations. I am also obsessed to sing in the original pitch but my eyes are now open I think...🙏
Thank you Got question regarding 3rd point : you've to keep your voice in good health. Is it any connection with food ? Like do not eat oily , spicy or do eat specific things then what ? Is there any effect of voice by food. 🤔
Yes, some foods make us feel scratchy in the throat or induce phlegm. Try and observe which foods do that to you and make it more difficult to sing. It varies from person to person. But in general a healthy balanced diet and good hydration helps keep the voice in good health.
When you sing a Karaoke track in RUclips the pitch is usually set on the original. So you are compelled to sing in that provided pitch. Having a broad range in your voice will be useful!
I don't usually recommend too much karaoke singing for precisely this reason that the pitch is fixed to that of the original singer. It is not necessary that every singer would have a similar voice or range. Although you can expand your range by about 20-30% through exercise, you cannot drastically alter your natural range. Although there are some softwares available to change the pitch of the karaoke, that could cause distortion in the sound. So many singers force themselves to sing on original key and end up straining. A better alternative would be to find other musicians who play the guitar, keyboard or any accompanying instrument and jam with them at your comfortable pitch.
Always happy to learn more with your videos! I struggle a lot to be okay with changing the key of the songs I sing to fit my range because it can so easily change the feeling of the song. I'm sure there's a relationship between keys and feeling of the song beyond major and minor keys. Is there a way to figure out what keys will help retain a similar feel?
You’re right! There is a reason why a composer chooses a particular key and that adds a certain feel and X factor to the original song. But if we don’t have the same voice type and try singing on the same key with a lot of strain, that feel and X factor will be lost anyway. So it is better to bring it to your key but with a proper understanding of the highs and lows and how to produce those frequencies in your voice. It is definitely possible to create an almost similar impact on a different key, but requires a good understanding of your own voice and observing the various vocal registers.
But... imitating other singers is a talent. Unless you have voice control and voice modulation one can't imitate. Again some sections of audience appreciate perfect imitation. However finally I agree with you - a good singer should not imitate.😊
I'm not a great singer, but would like to please my sai by singing bhajans with good practice... May not have a good voice ...bear minimum musice knowledge I have... I'm happy to fill in the gaps by watching your videos Thank you 💕
Karaoke singing has some limitations as we cannot drastically change the pitch. But we can change the pitch slightly by 1-2 semitones using software and it may not sound too odd.
Don't worry you will get it! Hope you are focusing on all aspects of music, not just the vibrato. Gradually your voice will get more flexible and the technique will become easier.
I DISAGREE, I WENT FOR THE ORIGINAL PITCH IN THE SONGS AND MY VOICE IMPROVED AND GOT STRONGER, AND I BELIEVE YOU NEED TO COPY PEOPLE ALSO, I AGREE ABOUT COPYING YOU CAN COPY FIRST THEN FIND YO OWN VOICE, TOO LONG IN WARM UPS CAN MAKE YOUR VOICE WOODEN, 20 MINUTES A DAY IS ENOUGH OR YOU LOSE YOUR STYLE.
Dear Sarathy ma'am, I m from Guwahati working with N.F. Rly., I' m a guitar player. I sing by my own way not getting the exact melody. I m 52 years old. Is it possible to learn. Please give your mobile no. I will spent only 10 minutes. B,cos Pavarotti n Domingo song singing skill I think we can't achieve. Please give your mobile no
Madam But the audience does not accept low octave Lata ji high pitch song I sing in my range only my guru appreciate because guru says my pronunciation is perfect my feeling while singing are very nicely brought out my taal is perfect but my all friends says pitch Lata ji jaisa nahi ayaa How to educate audiences
Even if we sing in our range, we need to bring out the similar impact so the vocal technique also matters. The tonality of the voice needs to be appropriate so that it suits the feel of the song.
Just because a person can sing at a higher pitch does not make them a better singer. The melody, feel, emotion and singing in tune makes a good singer (like Jagjit Singh). Remember that even Lataji sang her songs at a lower scale when performed live. Modern singers do the same thing. Also, back in the old days radio stations played cassettes and vinyl records that generally played at higher speeds making the singer sound higher pitched. Very high pitched, screechy songs can cause listening fatigue.
I disagree with the first point. A film song is composed in a particular scale for several reasons besides the original singers vocal range. The mood and punch of the song gets destroyed when someone lowers or increases the pitch. Better not to attempt those songs that are beyond ones range.
Never attempting a song that you love just because it’s beyond your range? Disagree! A song is a lot more than its pitches and frequencies. If one loves a song and feels connected with it, there is nothing wrong in singing it in your comfortable range.
I always sing Lata ji songs 2 semitones lower than the original key. Doesn’t stop me from feeling the emotion or bringing out the nuances. Most female songs of the golden era were at very high pitches. To say that only people with the same range should even attempt them is quite discriminatory and against the spirit of learning music.
I think the first point meant, everyone is blessed with a certain voice type and one shouldn’t unnecessarily imitate the songs in same original shruti. It’s absolutely right and lot of things in music is about experiential learning and music sense. No statement is written on stone and the sense need to be imbibed in us via almighty
The only useless thing is your rude and disrespectful comment to a teacher who is sincerely trying to teach. Clearly, you are neither a singer nor a student.
