      Exactly, the food is almost never any different in America because it's policy to"always taste like McDonald's" and they make sure the food always has that same taste, like you'll get retrained if you mess up too much, and the food is under quality control guidelines from the moment it is decided it's going to be McDonald's product

      @@laclaypool7651 I don't know which part of the country you worked but I was in that business 45 years and I never saw anything like that. The ceilings in the kitchens do get nasty over time , people drop sauce guns and it shoots Mac sauce on the ceiling, things like that. But dead rats?? Two things determine whether you'll have a 1 star or 5 star restaurant, management skill and training and the available work force in that area. If you visit a store and everything is all to hell, chances are that half the crew didn't show up to work that day. And the ice cream machines, in most cases, is not the fault of the store.

      The franchise operator AND the community are both factors in the quality of that McD franchise. Some McD have had very good franchise operators that shared their profits with the employees - or they are stopped due to activists. For example, my local McD franchise operator held five McD locations. He was a patriotic guy and supported STEM and education. His employees were economically supported by him if they were students. His franchises typically had larges armounts of indoor seating and one even had a piano people could use. Uh oh, sounds like it isn't in a slum. He gave employees (including part time) enrolled in college STEM up to 10 hours per week pay for doing their homework while seated in his restaurants. The local activists eventually filed a racism complaint because his rewards to students discriminated against blacks because they are underrepresented in college, therefore his rewards program to students discriminated against blacks. As a result, he cancelled all student support to avoid further racism lawsuits.

      Outside of the General manager and the Assistant General Manager, the rest of the managers are cashiers that are allowed to do the things that need authorization, such as refunds. No matter how good or bad a manager is, you can't fix a shift full of D level employees. On a shift with all A level employees there, the manager can disappear the entire shift and it would run exactly the same.

    As a fast food worker, to answer the wait time question, as you're ordering, your order is sent back to the kitchens on a screen with exact details, even before you pay; stuff like, say, "Big mac (no cheese) (no pickles)" "Med Fry" just whatever we need to know. Some places have someone up front with the cashier packing orders so we get it out as quickly as possible, and I've watched, an experienced person can make those burgers and sandwiches within seconds, lol. Customer comes by, cashier does their work and each order that the customer wants; the food already appears on the monitor in the kitchen and I start to put the buns on the toaster.
      We already prepared the patties on the heating tray. If the customer orders a hamburger, fries and a cola; I literally finish the burger in 5 seconds and quickly make the fries and cola and packaged them under 30 seconds.
      The fastest record I’ve done was *_barely_* under 30 seconds to make the burger (if you don’t count the bun toasting in the toaster.)
      By the time the customer finishes ordering and is about to wait for the food, it’s already there waiting for them.

It’s usually not the food quality that’s the problem at fast food, given that tends to be regulated, it tends to be employee and manager temperment, or even things like opening late/closing early, or other little slip ups like that. I’m a previous Wendy’s employee, and even I can see how the place I worked at went downhill thanks to issues like that.

    About the 30 sec wait time, fast food places have screens in the kitchens to show incoming orders so while you were ordering, they could see it and immediately start it before you even finished ordering.

    • @Ge0rdieDan_
      @Ge0rdieDan_ Год назад +16

      They do not see the order whilst it is being made, they see it once it is confirmed and paid for. It would be the stupidest system to make whilst they fill their order as what is gonna happen if they decide to cancel an item half way through?

    • @Aznataku02
      @Aznataku02 Год назад

      @@Ge0rdieDan_ NO you idiot, the order pops up on the back of the screen the moment its punched it. They need to toast the bun which roughly 10-17 seconds so if they cancel or change you only really waste the bun.

      @PurpleSmoke1215 Dunno how it's like in other countries, but in Germany, you only see it while they order in the drive or personally in the front. If people order on those terminals, the kitchen only sees it after paying. So, if you pay with card on those terminals, it's actually finished faster.
      Unfortunately most Germans are still in big love with real cash.
