@@andrewnguyen8147I've also worked in fast food for quite a while and I disagree with you. Even the best managers can't avoid shitty or unmotivated workers. As a former secret shopper, I found almost every rural fast food restaurant was insanely delicious, while the deeper into the city you get, the more disgusting the food got. It comes down to quality of the staff.
I think it also helps that small town locations are less busy. And the more favorable employee to customer ratio has a lot of benefits, including the employees being less stressed.

@soupman5836 yea I understand that too, they're all on my list of what makes a restaurant good, just to me if my food ain't well cooked or made properly
Here's an old Irish tip. If you want to look at how good the service is, not just check the restaurant floor itself but check the lavatory (or toilet) as well. If they are clean then the service is good but if it's not then expect for the what's to come.
Same if you're a manager of a store or company, the larger the easier to see: go to the bathroom and the graffitti will tell you almost everything you need to know about your workers.

They’re definitely sacrificing bathroom cleanliness for good food and service. I … just hope they’ve been washing their hands now that I think about it 😅
Now that you mention it, I remember going to the McDonalds at Santa Monica Beach (probably my least favorite McDonald’s in general) one time and I had to ask the counter to unlock the bathroom and once they finally did the bathroom had a horrible stench. Sure enough, they messed up my order pretty bad.
As someone who worked at Mcdonalds for 5 years and saw managers of all types come and go, I can assure you its not. Outside of the General manager and the Assistant General Manager, the rest of the managers are cashiers that are allowed to do the things that need authorization, such as refunds. No matter how good or bad a manager is, you can't fix a shift full of D level employees. On a shift with all A level employees there, the manager can disappear the entire shift and it would run exactly the same.
@Extra_Dimensional_Anomaly not really. If you're lazy due to pay why would any higher paying location want you? You're just lazy AF and a second-rate employee.

As a fast food worker, to answer the wait time question, as you're ordering, your order is sent back to the kitchens on a screen with exact details, even before you pay; stuff like, say, "Big mac (no cheese) (no pickles)" "Med Fry" just whatever we need to know. Some places have someone up front with the cashier packing orders so we get it out as quickly as possible, and I've watched, an experienced person can make those burgers and sandwiches within seconds, lol. So thats why they always screw everyones orders up cause by the time you go back and change something on the first burger you ordered or whatever they've already made it cause they jumped the gun like idiots. I think what would be key would be to check the reviews. It’s usually not the food quality that’s the problem at fast food, given that tends to be regulated, it tends to be employee and manager temperment, or even things like opening late/closing early, or other little slip ups like that. I’m a previous Wendy’s employee, and even I can see how the place I worked at went downhill thanks to issues like that. Notice how the employee was friendly in the last clip? That goes a long way. If 1st shift sucks, 2nd sucks too. They have the same management. Find the best consistent McDonald's in your area and go there even if it's out of your way.
The waiting time is because you first went to a grill-order restaurant, where they cook the food on the stoves as you order it. The other restaurant with the drive-thru and everything has the burgers pre-ready in a heater box, so the burger could have been there for over 3+ minutes. About the 30 sec wait time, fast food places have screens in the kitchens to show incoming orders so while you were ordering, they could see it and immediately start it before you even finished ordering.
They do not see the order whilst it is being made, they see it once it is confirmed and paid for. It would be the stupidest system to make whilst they fill their order as what is gonna happen if they decide to cancel an item half way through?

@@andrewnguyen8147could go further back to the franchise owner and who he/she hires as managers and the standards they put in place
@@andrewnguyen8147I've also worked in fast food for quite a while and I disagree with you. Even the best managers can't avoid shitty or unmotivated workers. Plus, so long as the bad employees are technically doing everything correctly, they can't fire them either.

Bro I have been to the 5 star restaurant
This is absolutely fantastic!
As a former secret shopper, I found almost every rural fast food restaurant was insanely delicious, while the deeper into the city you get, the more disgusting the food got. It comes down to quality of the staff.
This is so true, especially when going on road trips, you’ll notice that quality of fast food restaurants are much better and more taken care of.
I think it also helps that small town locations are less busy. And the more favorable employee to customer ratio has a lot of benefits, including the employees being less stressed.
Exactly when i went to germany there was this small restaurant at the end of the city (it was a burger shop) and me and my family got 4 burgers and chips and drinks for €55 and it was the best burger i have ever had in my life and it was massive lol

Eh not always true. Walked into the Pollo Tropical bathroom and it was FILTHHYYYYYYY, but the food? BOMB. Drinks? BOMBER. Customer Service? Give those people an award.
Checking the toilet anywhere will tell me what I'm dealing with. Even with employment.
Depends on the time. Could be busy and someone left it dirty but if it's disgustingly bad then yeah

Its down to how well people are payed. Dont be underpaid to overwork.
@Extra_Dimensional_Anomaly not really. If you're lazy due to pay why would any higher paying location want you? You're just lazy AF and a second-rate employee.
@@porkchoppsfr? cause i used to work at yoshinoya and without a lead or higher. getting change would be impossible and they do all the paperwork at the end and do the shipment. at the end of the day managers are actually important cause they bring in that backbone and that leadership. some mangers tho are so piss poor at there job and do the bare minimum. but good managers really do have a big impact.
And since it seemed a little slow when you came in, it makes sense you got your order so soon after you paid.
So thats why they always screw everyones orders up cause by the time you go back and change something on the first burger you ordered or whatever they've already made it cause they jumped the gun like idiots. And they're always just too lazy to remake something or change/correct. Stupid ass operation system tbh
Id rather wait the extra couple minutes it takes to complete an order to make sure it's made correctly...
@@Patrick-ti5tb or you could just... figure out what you want to order first? and not need to change the first burger you ordered?

@Patrick-ti5tb its called fast food. beginning to make it as soon as its ordered is part of making the food fast, not jumping the gun. 100% agree, you need to decide what you want before ordering, not, in your own words, go back to change something that you ordered at the start of the order lol

@@BellicVit's been done for potentially hours waiting in a heating tub
I’ve worked for seven years as a part-timer. Here’s how it works in a nutshell.
Customer comes by, cashier does their work and each order that the customer wants; the food already appears on the monitor in the kitchen and I start to put the buns on the toaster.
We already prepared the patties on the heating tray. If the customer orders a hamburger, fries and a cola; I literally finish the burger in 5 seconds and quickly make the fries and cola and packaged them under 30 seconds.
The fastest record I’ve done was *_barely_* under 30 seconds to make the burger (if you don’t count the bun toasting in the toaster.)

@@Ge0rdieDan_ NO you idiot, the order pops up on the back of the screen the moment its punched it. They need to toast the bun which roughly 10-17 seconds so if they cancel or change you only really waste the bun.
