Not sure how it works in other countries, but here in Australia if you have a standard forklift licence you can drive a fork with a capacity of up to 52 tonnes,at least thats what I was told when I did a refresher course a couple of years ago...where I'm working at the moment the one I drive is only 2 1/2 tonnes capacity.
Depends where you work at. Some places will require a different certificate (usually training given by the company) and others wont require anything at all.
Crazy. I have basic training (years of experience) and drive a 40T forklift(cat v925b) & a 65T gantry machine (Svetruck 1150). They sure let us yanks get away with murder over here
to corcoancaoc.....not in the uk you cant, i have my reach truck, narrow aisle and counterbalance ticket...i also have my 18 tonne truck license which is a seperate test....its a big jump from lifting maybe a ton or two and then lifting 10 tonnes, the stuff you are lifting is like sea containers, generators etc and you basically have zero visibilty never mind loadin unloading wagons mate.
why is it that forklifts look so damn funny when they flip and you're not in them hahahhaha

@Coolito A normal "basic" license is restricted to under 10 ton. Trucks over that you need a for them to
First guy drives like a boss
@Coolito, probably not, since the big ones can carry more than 10 tonnes. It's just my guess.
can I drive one of those giant ass forks with my normal forklift licence at all?
