Zakhaev is one thing but Makarov is the definition of pure evil. I’ve never had hatred for any video game character until I played mw2 & 3 lmao. Literally every time you see him something is gonna go bad. Fuck him. But good job IW for making good villains
I recently replayed the campaigns for MW2 and MW3, and Makarov is pretty underwhelming. In both games, Makarov's motivations are very unclear other than he hates the West which is pretty generic( I read somewhere wanted to make himself Tsar. Problably not real though). He does kill Soap, but that doesn't make him compelling. I'm happy they're presumably replacing him with Viktor Zakhaev as the big bad in the reboot's sequel. At least Viktor has a reason to really hate Price.

What I find interesting about the reboot is at the end of the campaign Price mentions Imran, saying he 'almost' buried him in pyrpiat, implying he knows he's still alive. So it will be cool to see how the story changes in the new games
Komrade Imran was my favorite and I wanted someone to do a full story of him and finally " and destroyed our culture and economy blood has been spilled on our soil my blood "
I think all ghillied up is what connects the two universes together since i guess that the MW2019 Universe is where Price killed makarov and zahkaev not just zahkaev only
What always stood out to me about Zakhaev is his lack of screen time. He is barely shown on screen, especially when compared to Al Asad, even when compared to his successor Makarov. Zakhaev is always in the background having others do his work. Al Asad was the one that overthrew the nation, Makarov detonated the nuke, and Viktor publicly acted in his fathers stead. Yet everything that happened could be solely traced back to Imran Zakhaev. *He* supplied Al Asad and his army, *He* gave Al Asad the bomb, He told Makarov and Yuri to detonate it, and He *personally* launched the nuclear missiles. By all accounts this man was the villain and should have been hated and condemned by everyone for his actions. Yet in the end, he got what few, if any, CoD villains got… he won. He became a martyr and the ultranationalists took over Russia. And Russia was in a state were it only one dead CIA operative among 2 dead Russians, lead by a known Russian terrorist was all it took to declare war on the western world.
Zakhaev could’ve gotten a cybernetic left arm but instead, he chose to be a one armed person. Because he doesn’t want to fit it into his lost limb as he sees it as too artificial and of course he has personal religious beliefs to not wear it. Because I like to believe that the setting is more advanced than people can realize it. The military complex innovated cybernetic technology and even it includes artificial limbs. And Imran sees artificial limbs as a piece of capitalism
Hey so I just thought of this so “mw19” and “cod4mw” are different universes but if u remember in the “mw19” at the post credits scene Price says he buried Imran Zakhaev in Pripyat, and in “cod4mw” the mission where Imran loses his arm, “All Ghillied Up” takes place in Pripyat. Could mw19 be a universe where Price actually does kill Zakhaev instead of taking his arm? I think it’s kinda cool
The unknown guy in one of the last videos that looked young and russian could be victor zakaev and zakaev arms means his son who never died in the multiverse but imran died during the assasination at pripyat maybe or just died at the bridge
i like how you say he's going to be the new cod, cause you know, just cause we find out his gunrunning business is still going, means without a doubt he's going to also be in the story in person, just like how people assume ghost, soap, gaz, and others will be in it just cause price says "some old comrades"
I know you already made this video for Imran Zakhaev, but I was wondering if there's somewhat of a connection of him from Black Ops Cold War to the Original Modern Warfare Trilogy?
Sucks that we never really went against Zakhaev or Al Asad im MW 2019, they were in it with spec ops but you never really got to see them, and they arent in MW2 2022
I supposed that the new mw games are more separate episodic stories instead of being more connected to one another. Like it’s instead loosely connected. Like they’re each their own games, and each their own stories.
Did anyone realize that after you kill him, the little cutscene when kamorov rescues you, the soldier helping Captain Price is a dude named Yuri. Is this the same Yuri we play as in 3?
