Good vid with good tips and good cabling but on building regs just have a look at the EGBR or internet equivalent on holes in joists which is what a flat roof is made of. Rafters refer only to proper sloped roofs and the third measurement principle only applies to the birdmouth cut in such rafters. There is also a minimum depth a joist must be to be cut into. When this applies i presume cabling has to run parallel only to the joists

I'm not sure about the entire project, but the electrical works were in the region of £1300 if I remember rightly.
