Basically, any metal song you convert from minor to major sounds either like
A) Pop Punk
B) Power Metal.
While power metal songs are basically thrash if you convert them to minor.

Revisiting this classic gem and it still rules my f'n face off! I spun Rust in Peace at home recently and I was a lil disappointed when it came to the "punishment due" section and I didn't hear that buttery major harmony! The changes were noticeable on the fast parts, but were even more apparent when the song slowed down. That's when the key change was more obvious, since each note had more time to sink in. Damn fine job here, fellows. I wish there were some vocals though
The song is in the same key as the record but instead of using lets say minor 3rd's or flat 5th's, there's "happy" notes like the major 7th. Essentially, it's how Justin would've wrote the song instead of Megadeth.

Badass!! Best cover I've seen of Hangar 18 hands down. I have met the band when Marty was in the band and Nick was in the band. Got their autographs, even took pictures with them will standing 4' or 5' feet from the stage when they were playing this song. Dave and Marty were killing it, but this cover is just as good as Dave & Marty. If you couldn't see the two people playing me you would never know it was not Dave and Marty playing it. You guys are great, hats off to you!!

When I clicked on this video, I thought my way through the song, and said 'how do you change the key of a song that is mostly chromatic notes?'
Now I know.
And it sounded triumphant. Reminded me of old RPGs from my childhood.
I'd love to hear some Sonata Arctica. 8th Commandment (Ecliptica, 1999/2014), What Did You Do In The War, Dad? (Pariah's Child, 2014), Black Sheep (Silence, 2001), or Wolf and Raven (Silence, 2001), all seem like they'd be a ton of fun to hear in major keys.
