In 1980, Manning and his colleagues developed biophysical profile scoring to assess fetal well being. They fashioned a method for fetal surveillance in high-risk pregnancies that combine fetal heart rate monitoring
with various ultrasound derived variables. Their technique was later modified by various scientists to make it easier & time-consuming.
Five biophysical parameters are assessed individually and in combinations.
Each of the five categories represents a separate mini evaluation of fetal behaviour or function. These are a combination of acute and chronic markers.

Nice video about Biophysical profile. I would like to add that spontneous deceleration during biophysical profile teting is associated with significant fetal morbidity.
inour hospital obstetrician unfortunately does all usg except anomaly . if needed also the sonologists dont help . so scary

If amniotic fluid indexis 6.5cm could it be given as7/8
Should be 6/8 or 8/8. Odd numbers are not used now a days for BPP unless its followed by specific centre for specific demand.
AFI 6.5cm with 0 biophysical score for amniotic fluid is possible.
