I really want to have a quinciñera for my 15th but I’m not sure if it would be inappropriate. I’m a 1/4 Hispanic on my dads side but I got all the traits of my moms side (italian and polish), I’m SUPER SUPER pale, bleached blond (natural dark brown) with short hair, and light blue eyes. Is it considered inappropriate??
No girl if it's your roots go for it! It doesnt matter how you look, you're 1/4 of it then go for it! Tell your parents about how you feel and that you'd like one.
i had a friend who was half black, a quarter native and a quarter mexican who had a quince. i’d say your fine, if the thought of having a quince makes you happy then there should be nothing getting in your way from experiencing it 😊
Have a Quince and enjoy yourself. Idk if it’s mainly a US American thing but Mexicans generally would feel honored that you’d like to experience a traditional Mexican rite of passage. If you feel a little too self conscious still, just tell people your family hails from Sonora, Mexico, most people in that state look just like you 😊 Happy Quinceañera!
