    You are a real inspiration Imogen keep on smiling and clocking up the miles, your videos give a much more realistic view of the terrain and its difficulty and are going a long way in helping me to make up my mind as to what and where my next walking experience might be when i next visit my family in Australia.

    I'm with you with rats, they freak me out and a fear when camping at night. Cant believe how tough you are walking thru the creeks with your shoes on. I take mine off when crossing them. Love watching your videos and hope there's more to come :)

    Sitting here currently at djardji-djawara after seeing and getting inspo from this video (though I ended up doing 7 after I saw some photos of werdug and needed to make that a definite for sunset and sunrise 😅) and your log is the first page that opens! Ha.
    Thanks for the video and inspo!
    I also followed your GOW a couple of months ago 👌🏻

    I didnt realise you could hike it in fewer days than parks get you to book for! Or did they change it after yours? Looking at the pace you are doing (and I've done the Larapinta as a fastpack in 5) I'm gonna be cooling my jets a long time in camp each day - especially as I like to start in the pre dawn!) and damn those school kids! Im going in the peak of summer (not ideal but such is my schedule) so hopefully no kids out there!

    Was wondering the same thing. Kudos on doing it in 6 days. I noticed in some of your earlier videos you were wearing boots but are now seem to be wearing trail runners. How have you found the transition and what sort of weight were you carrying at the start of the hike, considering you carried all your food ? One more question is how are you filtering or treating your water?

    Great video. How did you go about booking the campsites as you were skipping half of them and not following the “official” itinerary?

    • @ImogenBall
      @ImogenBall  2 года назад +1

      Hey Graham! I ended up booking the entire trip as that was the only option. I then combined the shorter days together. It was quite easy for me as I didn't come across any other GPT hikers, most likely because it was the middle of winter. It's more expensive per night, however I didn't want to make the time to do it over 13 days as a solo hiker. The only thing is in summer i'm not sure how'll busy it will be : )

    • @grahamparker8192
      @grahamparker8192 2 года назад

      @@ImogenBall , Thanks. I figured this was what I would have to do.
      Strange way to market the trail though.
      Sure everyone is free to walk at their own pace , but I don’t find the idea of spending 13 days hiking for 5 hours or less very appealing.

    • @ImogenBall
      @ImogenBall  2 года назад

      @@grahamparker8192 Yeh 100% agree! I'm pretty sure they're thinking of changing it once they understand how popular the hike will be. Just who knows when that will be : )

      Amazing! It is a beautiful hike...in terms of shortening the days I booked the entire hike and then completed the itinerary at my own pace. It was quite easy for me as I didn't come across any other GPT hikers, most likely because it was the middle of winter. It's more expensive per night, however I didn't want to make the time to do it over 13 days as a solo hiker. The only thing is in summer i'm not sure how'll busy it will be... Good luck with it : )
