I like the friends to lovers storyline however I never found Colin to be that likable so it’s hard to root for Penelope to be with him because I feel she deserves better ….
I think Francesca’s casting was great she really looked a lot like Daphne. But I a sister way not a twin. I am a big fan of the friends to lovers trope but I could have used like 2 more episodes before the midseason finale it felt a little quick but I think that happens with ensemble shows. A lot to cover never enough time.
Season 4 is Benedict. I suspect season 5 is Eloise. Benedict's wife apparently plays a role in story in the book too. Not to mention, each season is technically 1 year so far. We have to see bits and pieces of the two years Franchesa was married to her 1st husband in 4-5. Season 6 will be the rest of Franchesa's story. Then the last two in birth order. This is what makes sense to me. I really hope Netflix completes the series with 8 seasons

When I try to read the series accordingly I kept returning to Polin, I keep returning to polin 😂. Penelope's character was something i never found, kinda new, made the other leading lady so so to me
I love the class issues that can be addressed through the Will and Alice Mondrich storyline. And Francesca’s storyline is so fun, it’s giving neurodivergent vibes which I love as well. But it’s true there are a lot of story threads going on!

I wasn’t crazy about season two. My favorites in order are Queen Charlotte, Season 1, Season 3, Season 2. And I’m not happy with breaking up the season into two parts.

I so agree! I love the Mondriches too. I’m so glad they’re still in the story. I also like Benedict, Daphne, and Eloise too! I got so mad at Penelope at the end of S2 that I wasn’t up to having her story next. My fave of the seasons is Queen Charlotte. Netflix did it with Young Royals too. They waited to release the finale.

I love that Kate had new hairstyles and dresses this season but honestly I miss season 2 Kate, the simple purple or turquoise dresses and the flowy skirts and the flowy hair with braids, soo beautiful! I also miss her wit, there wasn’t much wit this season from Kate, and for me I didn’t need to see Kanthony this season at all. I wish we saw more business scheming with Pen and Madame Delacroix, and Eloise walking in on their scheme talk in the modiste. Wow why do I dislike season 3 so much 😭

I don’t like how they split it in two. I think I liked season 2 a little more half way through. But I’ve liked it so far. As far as the books go, pollin’s book was good. Francesca’s is definitely one of the better ones. I really liked Benedict’s book too tho. I think they might of skipped it because it’s a Cinderella story, so it’s not a new story. I didn’t really like Eloise’s book tho 😂

Benedict’s book is my absolute favorite from the whole series by far! I’m eagerly looking forward to his season and I don’t think y’all have anything to worry about. And I don’t want to give any spoilers but Francesca’s season should definitely be further down the line. There’s a reason why they are setting her marriage up now.

I agree. Maybe because I read the book but since they announced the 2 parts, I figured they would be setting up the second part to be the pay off. I knew they would leave us hanging like this. I will not lie, I expected more from Polin, but with all the press, part 2 has done good things coming. I also feel like they had to tie up the loose ends that we have due to the change up in novel order and the adding of Charlotte. There was just a lot of foundation that needed to be laid and worked out before they could really get back on track with the novels' storylines. My theory is that season 4 is Benedict, 5 is Francesca, 6 is Eloise and maybe there will be a 7 and 8 if not it'll be an epilogue type season where they just sort of combine the last 2 and tie it up in a happy-ever-after bow.
Hi, this was an entertaining review. As a fan of the books, Yes you’re right, Romancing Mr Bridgerton (Colin’s book) and When He was Wicked (Francesca’s book) were definitely among my favorites. I’m loving seeing The beginning of Francesca’s story here. Loving Colin falling sooo hard, they have lifted some lines straight from the book. Which are fun nuggets to catch, and heartening after the way they butchered Anthony and Kate’s love story. Will need Pen and Colin to take centre stage in their own love story for the second half also.

Huh, my favorite storyline this season is Penelope and Colin, and I was shocked that they seemed to rush through it. Looking forward to seeing them develop more in the second half of the season, and hoping they do still focus on Polin since there are so many couples competing for screen time. To be honest I would have preferred if they waited to do Francesca's story--I feel like we never really even met her before, and they could have introduced the character and let us get more invested, but still focused on Polin, and given Francesca a romance next year. The Violet romance is a good choice for this season since they hinted at it during the spinoff.
Like for me it definitely top season 2 which is crazy cuz I love season 2 but like all the banter the funny the romance the crying like I love this Susan. I'm going to watch this season over and over so season two and three I'll watch over and over. That's like yeah
4:39 good point. I mean I was trying to pace myself 1 episode a week until second half of the season comes out. But those cliffhangers are strong, I ended up watching all 4 episodes the day it came out 😅
Benedict 4 Ever! Can’t wait for his season! The books definitely get better as they progress. Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth’s books were my favorites.
I was so excited for this season, and then I watched episode 1 and didn’t feel the same rush of “omg what’s gonna happen next”. It was meh to me, all four episodes so far. I don’t know what it is about this season… there wasn’t enough Polin time for me to get invested and “ship” their love story, and the sex scenes (Kanthony and Colin’s brothel adventures) were just unnecessary and added nothing to the plot for me. The costumes were so different it didn’t feel like a natural transition from their previous season costumes. What is with all the puff sleeves on Cressida and the weird neck cross thing on Eloise? Phillipa is so suddenly tan this season, and we got no backstory for Prudence and her husband - where did he come from?? Did I miss something?? As for Polin… I don’t know, can’t put my finger on why they felt so off to me… I didn’t feel that passion between them as I did for Daphne and Simon or Kanthony or even Benedict’s flings. I honestly got excited about Lord Debling and wanted to shove Colin to the side. Like, it took a kiss under the moon for Colin to suddenly become interested in Pen as more than just a female friend? I didn’t buy it. I understand that a kiss can change things between friends but I didn’t work for me with Polin. Every time they were together, their scenes felt rushed, and there wasn’t enough screen time for me to truly believe them as a love couple. Francesca and Kilmartin were interesting and I’m more invested in her character and personality. Actress is gorgeous btw, very believable as Violet’s daughter. But they portrayed her as suddenly introverted than the previous actress in season 1 - I didn’t feel that sibling connection this season. But still got room to grow. I hope Polin don’t marry this season. The carriage scene was awkward for me to watch, and his sudden “will you marry me or not” proposal felt rushed and just weird… I need an entire season for their friendship to transition to love before they marry! And I don’t see that happening in part 2. And Violet needs some action, otherwise she will keep going to art museums and stare at nudes 😂 Lord Anderson …. Interesting and intriguing so far…
I agree with all of this! I have not read the books but it feels like they presented the Polin love story to be this AMAZING thing and so far I’m not convinced. I still don’t know why he is in love with her. Feels like there are a lot of missing pieces/background. I honestly believed them more compatible in past seasons when they were just friends than this season. I felt more chemistry with the other guy that was courting her that Colin tbh. Hopefully the last 4 episodes brings everything full circle. Also I feel like I like Francesca’s character but I’m a little lost as to what her story is. Like does she not want to be married or is it that she doesn’t want to have children? Her story just isn’t clear to me. I’m loving the other storylines so far, especially momma Brigerton and Lady Danbury’s brother, hoping to see more of that. So Ready for these last 4 episodes!
Yup same here! My hope for part 2 is that they bring Eloise and Pen back together; Cressida and Pen come to an understanding with each other enough to stop being enemies; Colin finds out about Pen being LW and learns to understand her in a deeper way than just lust or friendship; Eloise and Colin are ok with their roles in Pen’s lives; and that Colin and Pen express their feelings to each other. No marriage! I am hoping their wedding happens as a side plot or one-time event in season 4 while it focuses on Benedict or Francesca. But I also don’t want them married 😂 it’s like marrying your school crush rather than your man, your husband. I need them both to mature and be somewhat marriage material than just friend or casual sex material.

I love all the cast I really do and I read some of the books to prepare, but season 3 part 1 just didn’t hit as much as the others I think it really hurts the brand to split it into two this time. How did Francesca end up being my favorite character this season? Girl ate in every scene. 😂❤ thanks for your review

The featherington sisters entertain me a lot lol especially how foolish they are lol i have my eyes on franchescas love story. I even felt for the cowper girl and found myself paying attention to her story. I dislike her less and think eloise would be good for her to make her less.... her mother lol

I agree. Maybe because I read the book but since they announced the 2 parts, I figured they would be setting up the second part to be the pay off. I knew they would leave us hanging like this. I will not lie, I expected more from Polin, but with all the press, part 2 has done good things coming. I also feel like they had to tie up the loose ends that we have due to the change up in novel order and the adding of Charlotte. There was just a lot of foundation that needed to be laid and worked out before they could really get back on track with the novels' storylines.
My theory is that season 4 is Benedict, 5 is Francesca, 6 is Eloise and maybe there will be a 7 and 8 if not it'll be an epilogue type season where they just sort of combine the last 2 and tie it up in a happy-ever-after bow.
Hi, this was an entertaining review. As a fan of the books, Yes you’re right, Romancing Mr Bridgerton (Colin’s book) and When He was Wicked (Francesca’s book) were definitely among my favorites. I’m loving seeing The beginning of Francesca’s story here. Loving Colin falling sooo hard, they have lifted some lines straight from the book. Which are fun nuggets to catch, and heartening after the way they butchered Anthony and Kate’s love story. Will need Pen and Colin to take centre stage in their own love story for the second half also.

I was so surprised (a good one) when I saw you reviewed it! I read all the books and Colin & Francesca were my least favourite so I’m not surprised to see both stories combined. speaking of "kind men", did anyone else feel like the comment in that scene where a group of young women talk about their ideal guy was a diss at meghan markle? when a "kind" man was described, that was laughed off as something too basic lmao
Huh, my favorite storyline this season is Penelope and Colin, and I was shocked that they seemed to rush through it.
Looking forward to seeing them develop more in the second half of the season, and hoping they do still focus on Polin since there are so many couples competing for screen time.
To be honest I would have preferred if they waited to do Francesca's story--I feel like we never really even met her before, and they could have introduced the character and let us get more invested, but still focused on Polin, and given Francesca a romance next year. The Violet romance is a good choice for this season since they hinted at it during the spinoff.

Collin was the least interesting bridgerton.

The books definitely get better as they progress. Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth’s books were my favorites.
I was so excited for this season, and then I watched episode 1 and didn’t feel the same rush of “omg what’s gonna happen next”. It was meh to me, all four episodes so far. I don’t know what it is about this season… there wasn’t enough Polin time for me to get invested and “ship” their love story, and the sex scenes (Kanthony and Colin’s brothel adventures) were just unnecessary and added nothing to the plot for me. The costumes were so different it didn’t feel like a natural transition from their previous season costumes. What is with all the puff sleeves on Cressida and the weird neck cross thing on Eloise? Phillipa is so suddenly tan this season, and we got no backstory for Prudence and her husband - where did he come from?? Did I miss something??
As for Polin… I don’t know, can’t put my finger on why they felt so off to me… I didn’t feel that passion between them as I did for Daphne and Simon or Kanthony or even Benedict’s flings. I honestly got excited about Lord Debling and wanted to shove Colin to the side. Like, it took a kiss under the moon for Colin to suddenly become interested in Pen as more than just a female friend? I didn’t buy it. I understand that a kiss can change things between friends but I didn’t work for me with Polin. Every time they were together, their scenes felt rushed, and there wasn’t enough screen time for me to truly believe them as a love couple.
Francesca and Kilmartin were interesting and I’m more invested in her character and personality. Actress is gorgeous btw, very believable as Violet’s daughter. But they portrayed her as suddenly introverted than the previous actress in season 1 - I didn’t feel that sibling connection this season. But still got room to grow.
I hope Polin don’t marry this season. The carriage scene was awkward for me to watch, and his sudden “will you marry me or not” proposal felt rushed and just weird… I need an entire season for their friendship to transition to love before they marry! And I don’t see that happening in part 2.
And Violet needs some action, otherwise she will keep going to art museums and stare at nudes 😂 Lord Anderson …. Interesting and intriguing so far…
I agree with all of this! I have not read the books but it feels like they presented the Polin love story to be this AMAZING thing and so far I’m not convinced. I still don’t know why he is in love with her. Feels like there are a lot of missing pieces/background. I honestly believed them more compatible in past seasons when they were just friends than this season. I felt more chemistry with the other guy that was courting her that Colin tbh. Hopefully the last 4 episodes brings everything full circle.
Also I feel like I like Francesca’s character but I’m a little lost as to what her story is. Like does she not want to be married or is it that she doesn’t want to have children? Her story just isn’t clear to me.
I’m loving the other storylines so far, especially momma Brigerton and Lady Danbury’s brother, hoping to see more of that. So Ready for these last 4 episodes!
Yup same here! My hope for part 2 is that they bring Eloise and Pen back together; Cressida and Pen come to an understanding with each other enough to stop being enemies; Colin finds out about Pen being LW and learns to understand her in a deeper way than just lust or friendship; Eloise and Colin are ok with their roles in Pen’s lives; and that Colin and Pen express their feelings to each other. No marriage! I am hoping their wedding happens as a side plot or one-time event in season 4 while it focuses on Benedict or Francesca. But I also don’t want them married 😂 it’s like marrying your school crush rather than your man, your husband. I need them both to mature and be somewhat marriage material than just friend or casual sex material.
I love this show and enjoyed the first part however I do think I knew and saw way too much before the season started. It was spicy 🥵
