Hi Heather,i'm so happy you are back to make tutorials,i really like your Bracelet it's a Beautiful Bracelet & even if it's tricky specially the first couple of rows the way you have teached this Project so well it's easy to follow,Thank You Heather i really enjoy to watch this fun project & hope you will make more tutorials because you are an Amazing Designer & excellent teacher too, have a great Day!!
Thank you. I had to watch the beginning a couple times to realize the pattern but it was easy to figure out after a couple of views. It is a very confusing stitch at first until you realize it is simply applying a rotation of 11/0 or superduo alternating the two.
Had a few issues in the beginning, but soon got the hang of it and ( to use up some of my beads) made it into a mixed coloured necklace. Thanks, it turned out gorgeous. ;)
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial. I was struggling to do this with a picture tutorial and when I found this it was very good and I already started doing this....
To do a bangle, you would just continue the pattern of the bracelet. Then when you think it is long enough, put both ends together and try fitting it over your hand. It needs to be big enough to fit over the widest part of your hand. If it fits over your hand without any problem, you can sew both ends together and be sure to reinforce the area where the ends meet.
Yes. A trick I figured out is to not make your first beads so tight. That way, by the time you get the length you want, weaving into the starting end is a lot easier. And it's easier to see the pattern. And yes, it becomes seamless. :)
Go for it! Like I said, leaving the starting end loose makes it easier to see the pattern. And It's exactly the same as if you were adding the next row of beads which creates a seamless join. I also used 4lb test fishing line. It knots like a dream, but is thin enough to weave in the tails as much as you like. A good thread for a sturdy bangle. :) (any Wal-Mart)
Woohoo :) I just did it. Doing a happy dance now :) Thank you thank you thank you for encouraging me. It is really seamless and perfect. Thanks bunches again :)
here is a link to a written copy of the pattern. Used together, they make it easier. Perserverance is key, plus tight tension. Once its tight it's easier to see where the next bead goes, also the superduo is meant to lie down in one round. www.interweave.com/article/beading/quick-and-easy-try-this-herringbone-rope-with-twin-beads/
Thank you so much for posting that link as I have been really struggling to follow the video. I could not see the thread path at all, but now I can see where the needle is supposed to go next.
I don't think we currently do, but are always adding PDF pattern, which you can find here: www.potomacbeads.com/Potomac-Bead-Company-Beading-Patterns-s/3515.htm
hi, i finally got this after 3 days. It is a really good pattern but there are some crucial points where the beadwork goes blurry/off camera/covered with fingers. Also when u say look at it, u wave it back & forth making it hard to focus on. but all in all, thankyou. It is a free pattern after all. I just paid $15 for a pattern with thumbnail size photos.
Just a thought for people finding this a bit hard to follow. I did too but carried on and got the hang of where everything should be. I could then see where it had gone wrong at the start, so made the bracelet a bit longer, then returned and took out the first few rows where I'd made mistakes and hey presto - nobody would know.
This is gorgeous! I'm definitely trying it, but I was wondering to make it bigger if I use six seed beads and six superduos - that's a possibility, right? I love this idea and it looks really easy! Thank you Heather for this tutorial - I've learned so much from you guys! You're all gems! :D
It took me FOUR days to finally understand this, after watching the video endless times. Problem: the step-up process was not explained or shown clearly -- it's different for SuperDuo/seed bead step-ups than for seed bead/SuperDuo step-ups. (She should have made it clear that for seed bead/SuperDuo combos, on the third time, you go through an already-used SuperDuo before stepping up through the adjacent seed bead.) I finally "got it" when I learned by using four different-colored pairs of SuperDuos and seed beads (gold/gold, black/black, white/white, blue/blue) to see where the step-up was and how to do it. Potomac Bead Company should definitely redo this using better video and descriptions. (Another example: with seed bead/SuperDuo combos, thread through the seed bead that sits right behind the SuperDuo you just went through; with SuperDuo/seed bead combos, thread through the seed bead that sits right before the next SuperDuo.) I was finally able to create an elegant necklace using matte black SuperDuos and clear seed beads, and plan on making more.
I'm sorry I'm sure Heather has the skills because I've learned beading from her before, but this one is a little hard to follow. "Arg" It sounds kind of confusing. I can't, I just can't ....
This is ridiculous !! I have started this 5 times and now, I'm giving up. I agree with April, the positioning of the camera shows less of where the needle goes next and more of fingers and cuticles in need of care.... I give up !!
I appreciate that you take the time to make a tutorial video, but this was just too hard to follow. First, you seem confused over whether you're using a superduo or twin (tho honestly what's the difference? They look the same to me?), and your hands are bouncing all over the place making me feel sea sick. I really don't like to complain because you chose to spend the time to do this for your viewers, and I do appreciate that.
I love the bracelet and your description of what to do is great, but your hands move so much, I'm honestly getting nauseous. I'm not being sarcastic, so please don't take it wrong.
This is the most confusing project video I have ever seen. First, your fingers cover the bead work and I can't see if what I am doing is correct. Second, you go way too fast. I have started over four times, and still can't get it. Moving on to someone else's video with better instructions.
Did a fat lady actually try to make a person feel bad about their hands?! What the fuck is wrong with you??! You might want to check yourself before you open your big, fat blubber chin... what goes around, comes around...karma does not take kindly to shit. Sorry 😐....not sorry!!

You are so welcome!
This is a good tutorial. Thank you.

Watching it a few times before trying it is always a good idea. Glad you got the hang of it, thanks, Becky!

Luvi this. Made one without the seed beads... It was lacking..will definitely be doing yours..
Initially I felt it more confusing but finally understood the technique behind it. Thanks
Nice tuto good explained. Can you explain how to finish as bangle without clasp ? Many thanks in advance

@@Potomacbeadco many thanks - I will try.
Thank you for your response. I did check at Potomac and there was not a tutorial available.
Yes we said we would work on it soon.
Awesome
Finally got it. I turned mine into a bangle, instead of using a clasp. I love the result. :)
OMG! I tried and tried to turn this bracelet into a bangle but each time failed miserably :(
How did you make it? Is it really seamless?
Yes. A trick I figured out is to not make your first beads so tight. That way, by the time you get the length you want, weaving into the starting end is a lot easier. And it's easier to see the pattern. And yes, it becomes seamless. :)
Thank you for the trick. I think I'll be brave and give it another try :)

Where can I order those white and blue beads please
Is this really lose for anyone else?
Hi Kay, you need to keep your tension through the beadwork as you go. Which beading thread are you using?
here is a link to a written copy of the pattern. Used together, they make it easier. Perserverance is key, plus tight tension. Once its tight it's easier to see where the next bead goes, also the superduo is meant to lie down in one round.

Could someone point me to a better video for this project please?
Do you have this in written form. Hard for me to watch and do and or write notes as I go.
I don't think we currently do, but are always adding PDF pattern, which you can find here:

Before I start do you think the double colored ones would work. Sorry I can't think of the name of the superduo.
Duets? Sure, it is the same shape, so that is all that matters.
Please remake this video.

Thank you for the Master Class! What thread did you use when weaving?
We used Wildfire 0.008 or you can use 0.006 in the green.
@@Potomacbeadco thank
I really like this bracelet. I do have a question... Can this particular pattern be made into a Bangle? Thanks a bunch :)
Where can the previous "SuperDuo Knitted Herringbone Bracelet" be seen? Ist there a tutorial as well?
Here is the flat version:

Thanks, I'd missed that.
Allie- please reconsider making this tutorial as it is very hard to follow. Thank you.
Noted, Jennifer.

Hi Angelique, yes that should make it thicker.
so confusing, is it that complicated?

Thanks, we'll add it to the list of possible updates.
Thanks for sharing...
It would be nice if you could just call it either a twin or superduo and stick with it. The verbage is driving me nuts.

im sorry but I see more fingers and cuticles than the beads
Wow, a hard one. On my third attempt and I am lost again.
The magazine made no sense. I’ve been a beader for a long time and I watched this 5 times.
magazine?
This is super confusing.
sopretty, but confusing
I love the bracelet and your description of what to do is great, but your hands move so much, I'm honestly getting nauseous. I'm not being sarcastic, so please don't take it wrong.
