I'm Dr. Sanchez - a 3rd year general surgery resident. Come with me for a day of meetings, surgical simulation/training and some chaotic unexpected events!
I had to have life-saving surgery. I had UC, which ended up at Toxic Megacolon. I also felt my large bowel pop not long b4 I went down to surgery. Which was on a bank holiday on Monday at a small hospital here in the UK 🇬🇧. It's definitely not the best time to try and die; everyone had to be called in for my surgery. I had a female army captain do my op that saved my life. I was cut open for my surgery. I don't mind my scar at all; it's part of my life and what road I have been down. I had to have my spleen removed , and it was stuck to my large bowel. I got offered the J-ppuch surgery, but because of the lack of reading I could find I stayed with my stoma, I got on well from day one. it does not bother me at all. I had my rectal stump removed one year to the day of my emergency surgery. Then because there was no support for my womb after the rectal stump removed, my womb flipped back and stuck to my backbone, so I had a total hysterectomy they taken everything out as it had taken 7 hours to do that op because of the scaring inside and most stuff was stuck down. So they lot went. I had a large cyst on my ovaries, so they never ever wanted to go back in again. I live with a lot of pain from adhesions, but that's life; I just get on with it. I became a volunteer 1st responder for my local ambulance service my way of giving something back to the NHS as I can never ever repay what they have done for me. We are very lucky here in the UK 🇬🇧 with the NHS. Keep up the brilliant work,
Wow - thank you so much for taking the time to share your story and experience with me! I absolutely love that you are volunteering and giving back! I also want to commend you and say you have my utmost respect for your resilience through everything! Sending you all the positive vibes! Thank you!
Loved this video, thanks for sharing. I had a colles fracture several years ago and had to get a plate in my wrist. I bet they used some of those robotic tools! Wouldn’t surprise me at least. Keep up the great videos… and if it’s not too much trouble, could you paste a link to the med-book you love? That would be awesome.
I want surgery too ...but allot of people told me it's difficult and you will have to work like a lot and I don't know what to do , i don't want to regret it ?
