More importantly, chap stick is flammable. It’s a great fire starter. Spread it on a cotton ball or swab and you have a frame for at least 30 seconds or so.
I lost a friend and his wife to exposure in the early 80s. Their car got stuck in the snow in a storm. He tried to walk for help, while she staid in the car. Neither one of them made it. Sense that time I have carried an emergency bag in my vehicles. It started out as just a big gym bag with stuff that I thought would help me survive something like that. Even though I now have a very good GHB, I still (in the winter) carry my what I call my emergency winter bag. The main thing in it, a military extreme cold weather sleeping bag.
Good advice. I got a couple ideas I had thought of. Thanks
Bugging out requires a destination. If you “bug out” with no destination, you’re not bugging out. You’re just leaving. You’re just a refugee.
That bag you are an absolute target.
Well done! Great info in here. I had not thought of the orange vest in the car - great idea!
Great Job Dan… I’m looking forward to more of your videos
Fantastic, Dan - you thought of everything! If in colder climates, I'd suggest the shirt be a Merino wool based on, for warmth in both dry and wet conditions. Also, I'd add a wool beanie - most heat loss occurs through ones head, I believe. Thanks again for a great illustration of what to have with you!
Great video! I would add a silcock key.
Thank you for this video. 👍👍👍
Thank you
I like to hike and have a wide range of bags for different occasions, but I have to say those are not good bags if you have walk a good few miles.
Everyone thinks they can walk farther and faster than they really can. That is why I would advise some to cut the weight of a get home bag or it can become a hindrance if you need to cover a lot of ground quickly.
Get home ebags are a smart idea along with bug out bags I have 2 of each one each for warmer wea🎉the🎉r an d one eac4h for col der weather. I also try to teach others about them to . Keep up the good work and thank you btw I noticed you did not mention a fire kit, is there a reason why?
Wish u would show where u get this stuff
You can find all the gear and more at www.usago.org and you can get it all at wholesale pricing when you consider your purchase with a membership!
Anyone have the link to that flashlight/solar?
I disagree with your kit, but it's like a mouth hole. Everyone has one and some crap to come out of it. I think emergence blanket or SOS tarp, navigation tools, secondary canteen or water filter, wet whipes (to go with TP), glow sticks, and some contractor bags instead of the home garbage bag due to the fact most have a fragrance to them. I feel your fist aid kit in the bag was much because you talked about being in your truck. In my truck, the big first aid kit is in the center console, not in a pack. It is better to grab for roadside situations. I keep a me kit in the bag and blow out kit to grab. Food for thought my guy. Not trying to rain on your parade, just my thoughts.
Big and heavy you don't need half of all that crap.
How in the world do you know what he needs Rambo.
@@trentonvet someone is angry lol
Afraid to answer my question, that figures.@@djjubel3685
As soon as you said that Winchester knife was good I lost all faith in your opinion.
But, that's the whole meaning of an opinion my friend, a mixture of taste, knowledge and experience! I would personally swear by the name of a humble mora to be forgotten in my ghb, and my tops smokejumper for outdoor use, but that is also MY opinion 😉👍
Sorry but I would not bother with guns I'm in UK.
All the more reason u need 1 😂
