    Very cool video. Congrats!
I started watching this video while driving my daughter to her university on the Ottawa Canal Road. I finished watching it on the way back home. With the small curves in the road and my reflexes responding to the opponent’s moves, it
was like I was in the matches myself.
Good luck on your second have of the season.

One thing I’d like to say, if you see this comment, is that you’re going into these matches as it being a big match or a small match. You have to get in that mindset of it being another scrap in the wrestling room. You thinking it’s a big match is what I believe affected you most to that overtime loss. Anyways, have a great day!

@@CaydenHenschelHe's right %100 I was never as good as you but what I do realize now being a bit older, im only 26 but still 🤣 but I noticed that all of my wins over ranked opponents besides 1 I did not know they were ranked and I won easily. The matches where I knew the kid was good or whatever I lost. They breathe oxygen, you breathe oxygen it really is as simple as that and once you really get that part down thats when you don't have another close match! The body can do more than the mind will let it, free your mind of any limits.

Brother I saw a lot of half shots where typically you full send to the leg. I think you’re far more equipped and prepared to put some points on that guy than you believe. I totally understand keeping it tight to give yourself a shot. Great strategy, it worked, damn near. You are absolutely a better wrestler than you could possibly believe, and you’re phenomenal on bottom, like a wizard.

I agree and he hesitated a bunch when he normally would take the shot in the 3rd towards the end op hit a throw by while he was half attempting a shot if he would've full sent it takedown for sure

There's a point 3:12 ish vs Nat Champ where he breaks the grip and you have his right leg and his left arm/palm is flat on the mat, he even uses his left arm for an underhook. Maybe a couple of seconds to hit an outside firemans as a secondary move. Cup an lift that right thigh, lifting his leg off the mat with left hand/forearm, at the same time tightly grab with left hand, tuck his left arm and pull hard, if you keep those body parts off the mat and hit that move hard, all he has to defend against that is his left leg, even if he sprawls, he's still in trouble imo. I don't think he would've seen that coming. NIce tournament really enjoyed watching u wrestle!

Awesome videos Cayden! Absolutely great matches! You definitely got that dawg in you this year, haha.
There was a very brief moment for split second when you were going against that #1 ranked guy,
when you had ahold of his leg in the 3rd period, super brief opportunity for a fireman's carry.
I know its so much easier said than done, and I'm sure you will see it when you watch it back.
Just thought I'd throw it out there in case you missed it. But an absolutely action packed match and tournament nonetheless!

Head positioning on point. The only thing I would say with the guy you beat for 3rd is when he drops his hand to the mat, he is about to shoot. That is how he got to your legs the 2x because you didn’t keep a hand down to check your level to down block.

Musings of a high school wrestler and fan of wrestling, so take it for what it's worth. Awesome heart and hustle, everyone can see you put in a great deal of work to get here. A point on the wrestling "the champ" he got you on that ankle pick at the end, which you were aware of it seems, but just timing and fatigue worked out for him. You had that sense of urgency which was good and it made him work very hard, he seemed just a touch more poised and "flowed" a bit bitter. You did a fantastic job keeping him off the legs and ankle picks though up till that point though. Mentally that might have been taxing and you were in a defensive mindset. Physically he had no edge on you. I think you're right there, but don't count on catching him sleeping on you next match!! Keep him upright and stick to him like glue next match, probably could blow him off his feet, defensively he was strong v that single leg.

1st match. That guys build is deadly for u. U could’ve had a nice knee pic! He actually hit a nice undertook ankle pic. You didn’t in OT. Match over. 2nd match. Good scrap. Dude started to time ur left club and shot right in and should’ve scored I don’t know how he couldn’t finish it was unbelievable. Great defense Cayden! You can beat these dudes just study every position that wasn’t ideal or u didn’t score from. Ur right there.

I will say though that was a hell of a closer match! Keep your head up king! Also I wanna note what you said at around 4:45 of the video, I struggle with that too! I think we gotta learn to not give too much respect to someone ranked higher than ourselves so that we can say we left everything out on the mat! But with that being said, way to bring it back to finish 3rd AND beat the guy that had you last year!

Cayden, I don’t know if my comments over the past year have helped (please let me know if not), but here’s my take after watching most of these matches live:
Donathan match - he is clearly a follower of your channel lol because he definitely wrestled you just as hesitant as you wrestled him. I think you’re right you may have gotten a little in your head when you were deep on his leg. But you at least took him to overtime. I smell a rematch at nationals, either in the semi-finals or finals (I think you wrestle better as an underdog). Side note but does he not have insanely long arms?
Tate Murty - from my own experience wrestling in high school and college at the NCWA club level, I can relate very much to letting the people who’ve beaten me get in my head. But I’m glad you finally have started to overcome this head trash. You got the first two take downs, then wrestled smart on those scrambles. Think about where you were last year at this tournament when, as much as I hate to say this, Murty beat you in pretty dominant fashion. You came back and put a butt whooping on him in that duel, then unfortunately lost in the blood rounds. Then this year’s Midwest classic you take third place. I say that’s a pretty solid performance and you should absolutely be proud of yourself.
Your team also wrestled great. Corrigan, Worecheck, and your team’s 133 - that kid is a stud that I don’t think anybody expected to take third. Dont know what’s wrong with your 149 pounder Spuhler, but he doesn’t seem to be wrestling to his fullest capabilities (maybe he’s hurt?). Your 165 pounder is also really fun to watch. I don’t know if he will go as far at nationals, but he’s super entertaining and I love his acrobatic style. He’s another dark horse I think will surprise people in March.
Great content bud, I will gladly continue following and supporting you. If I can’t make it work with my schedule, I may come up to watch D2 nationals in March.

hey cayden this may not be helpful to you but i noticed watching you wrestle that when you get to your head inside shot your more worried about stepping over the leg instead of keeping full pressure as you hit the corner just a thought i love your vids keep up the grind great season so far!!
