The only way to help your Shih Tzu with problems like this rely on the owner . I have a shih tzu, and if he isn’t used to being tampered with or brushed almost everyday, they WILL hate it . I am guilty of this too and not properly brushing my shih tzu as I should.
Dede that was a very intense groom, you and David work really good together, it's great how much patience you have with the nervous aggressive dogs, thanks for the video,
I have found in my years of grooming, shih thus are the worst for throwing tantrums. Was this dog hurt by another groomer? She seems to really dislike her front legs being done.
Amazing job! My shihtzu hates being groomed in the face and just wants to run away after I’m done with his body. So I just do his face as he sleeps or is tired and doesn’t notice lol
I would be beyond pissed if I brought my dog to you to be groomed. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, but you're not. I think by "aggressive" you meant lively. The dog doesn't sit still is what you meant. It is wagging its tail and panting and breathing. Biting the scissors?? Oh, you meant the dog is moving again. I'd cry out, too, if you brushed my tail that way. Not nice the way you're handling her. And just LOOK at this poor baby after you've "groomed" her! You suck!!
I own several Shih Tzus and I always look forward to watching your videos. I groom all my dogs myself and don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for you. I’ve watched other videos but yours are by far the best. Thank you for sharing.
I have a shih tzu myself and I try to groom her. She doesn’t like me touching her head, legs, or her bum with clippers or scissors. She squirms a lot! It’s frustrating!! I need to invest in better clippers because the one that we have is too sharp. It cuts fine but one wrong move and I nick her or myself and it hurts. I have a plastic guard over it but it doesn’t cut the hair well. Her legs are soooo matted and pee stained and she doesn’t like me cutting there. I would take her to the groomers but she has an open wound behind her ear since she scratches there a lot and has an infection but idk if the groomers would turn her away because of that. Any tips or recommendations on tools or how I can get her to let me cut her hair? I’d appreciate it :)

You are putting a lot of stress and strain on that poor dog's hind legs and spine you should take more care and consideration with your clients I'm surprised nobody has held you liable the carelessness of your scissor work not even using your hand as a safety buffer nipping this poor dog also I have been bitten by a large number of shih tzus in my profession as a dog groomer over 20 years and it is never required stitches not sure why you exhibited concern regarding being bitten this dog has endured physical restraint basic like torture of you coming at it with scissors and other dangerous tools and not taking necessary safety precautions you and your team of groomers are way too aggressive what these poor animals who have no voice of Their Own
The E collar is such a great idea! I also love the way you put the garbage bin by the grooming table... the broom is a good idea! Just please b be gentle with the fur baby... the brush hurt her tail... ouch!
I love your videos and all the help you offer to these animals! I've been wondering for so long are you and David married? Totally none of my business just curious 😊
I would have done the face first cos by the time uve gotton done with the body and legs etc the dog is getting real pssd so now uve got a fight on yer hands ..not good
Elaine, Dede is trying to earn and teach the dog to trust her. It would not be smart to start with the part of the body the dog reacts to most aggressively first. The dog will never learn to associate grooming with positives if at the start she always feels threatened. It would take her more time to groom if she started with the face.
Imagine having your hair shaved off been told what to do all your life chained up collar around your neck a leash pulling your neck muscles fed the same tinned processed food every single day of your life, shouted at, pushed around and never get any freedom to be a dog.
She had the crazy eyes. You are so patient and loving.
Sometimes I tell the dogs to just sit still and let me do this and we will be done a lot quicker. They never listen tho! Lol
I have a shitzu and this video made me worry about taking my baby to any groomer. I like your video so maybe I can groom her myself.
I wonder why is her eye red

oh my gosh her eyes are so big 😂
Yes most "shit zhu"have notably bad temper.i am a groomer myself lol
Have you ever thought to try a cat muzzle on the Shih Tzu?
Nadine Shari Olsen I'm sure she has. But once the muzzle is off, it would be hard getting to the face
