The camera shows us a panorama taken from the elevator ascending the Eiffel Tower. We can make out the old Trocadéro building (00:13) built for the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris and then demolished in 1937 to be replaced by the current building. The film was premiered in Lyon on November 27, 1898 under the title Montée dans la tour Eiffel
