Fecal occult blood test is done to look for the presence of blood in the stool, which cannot be seen with the naked eye. Occult means hidden. This test is mainly done to screen for colorectal cancer. However, this test is also recommended when there is bleeding in the upper or lower part of the gastrointestinal tract.
Fecal occult blood test is mainly done to screen for colon cancer in people above the age of fifty years or it is also asked to get this test done in people who have people in their family with colon cancer.
It is also done to check for conditions of the gastrointestinal tract that cause tissue damage or leakage of blood.
Blood in stool can have the following causes:
gastric ulcer
swelling in the lower part of the rectum
rectal tumor
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Adverse effects of NSAID drugs
exercising excessively

Sir when I m setting on the hard things I got wet at my anal lower part n surrounded Area but no as such any wetness but I m feeling that some thing is wet
N my doctor suggested the stool for occult blood test report
