I have very fond memories of your thrilling performance on this instrument in May 2014 for the HIstoric Keyboard Society of North American at the National Music Museum. Please come back any time! This instrument needs to be recorded!!!
I am astounded at the quality of this old harpsichord and the music that was selected and played. I would be highly interested in hearing more music from this harpsichord and also the harpsichordist.
This very beautiful music is new to me, and the instrument is fascinating. I have seen it in the museum but not heard it before. Many thanks for putting this up--and likewise for your fine, sensitive playing.
Wonderful instrument, beautiful music, OK, but the musician is a miracle, that she can pull all that perfect beauty out of the heavens and bring it to us❣ 😎 😎 {certified old curmudgeon}
I think the Vermillion Museum could have done an effort to provide this fine harpsichord a stand of the same style which would have been as original as the modern score rest
I note that the instrument is set up on a table. Does this have an impact on the sound it produces? It's a marvelous, transparent sound, and of course, sensitively and sympathetically played by yourself. . .
Hi Greg, the impact is barely perceptible, as the sounding instrument is most likely designed to be used in an outer case (typical italian harpsichord construction), or at least it was used with it during much if its time. (You can see the green outer case on the video.) In the iconography you can see often these instruments placed on a table as well!
honestly i believed these instruments should be played still there last day instead of sitting in a museum there whole life slowly falling apart
they need to be played to stay i. good shape…Hopefully experienced people do play it and the museum allows them to
500 year keyboard instrument restored and beautifully played. Music dear to my heart

Incredible improvisatory and spontaneous sense throughout the playing, as if created for us by yourself. Bravo.
Thank You Most Kindly for the music heard 500 years ago on this same instrument. The for all time Universal Language. DaveyJO in Pa.
Honestly my mind can't get over how old this thing is. Nearly 500 years. It must've looked so futuristic looking back then.
Very, very sweet, dear Catalina!!!

Positive vibes are seeping through to my computer-screen, just by listening to ... and watching this wonderful instrument. Thank you!
So cool and underappreciated . the years behind and now luckily in front of this instrument is mind blowing ! 🎹 👍
Wundervoll gespielt! Bin schon auf den Tonträger gespannt!
Liebe Grüße aus Österreich,

Interesting and sweet. I did not expect such intimate sound from this instrument. Brava to both!
Amazing that it's survived so long! :)
Absolutamente maravillosa. No hay palabras para una cadencia final tan bonita...
Thank you!
This is Litterally as old as Henry the 8th
Catalina is simply amazing!
*Es como viajar en el tiempo, y me da gusto que este viaje sea en manos de una persona joven.*
It is beautiful and I look froward to your CD. It is very inspiring to see young people keep alive centuries old music and care for early keyboards.
a beautiful performance on an extraordinary instrument, bravo!
i love her.
This is amazing. That is all i can say!
super!!!
Beautiful!!!

Composer: Andrija Starić from Motovun.
Dank music.
Often the older the harpsichord, the better the tone. Fenton House in London has some very old playable ones that I have heard.

Clavecin Vicens I understand. In fact, now I've noticed the engraving included in the clip also has the instrument on a table. I'm learning. . . :)
I beleive this is correct for the time, since early harpsichords didn't have their own stands! :)
If not in 12 equal temperament, how is this tuned?
Mutant Baby It is an adjusted 1/4 comma meantone
Clavecin Vicens Yay, Meantone for the win!
