What a great and tasteful presentation. Not an "uh" or a pause.. pure passion for her craft, and the home is beyond stunning. perfectly preserved and restored, an incredible effort indeed!
I remember coming to the museum every year when I was a student at (then)Third Ave and Nettie Hartnett. I looked forward to it - in fact I do believe this is one reason I love history as much as I do. It is time to revisit this historic beauty. Thank you for keeping Leavenworth History preserved for the future.
I stumble across your video and just wanted to say, Thank you for the work all of you do to keep such a priceless piece of history alive. When things get back to normal and secure in the country your definitely on my bucket list. Hello from the west coast, Vancouver, Canada.
What a neat place and your enthusiasm shines. I've been researching my family tree for decades and some of my Crawford county, Pennsylvania Gehr/Gear family lived in Kansas with Leavenworth being mentioned. You didn't mention the Major's name, but one that did was Maj. William Augustus Finley Gear. Thanks for all the work you all do there and for preserving such a beautiful place.
best thing ever growing up . . . got in so much trouble in that house :) the folks whom work that property are special people who deserve all the support and love they can get . . . .wonderful place to visit and enjoy even as a child.
Fabulous museum thanks to that one surviving daughter!! The digitizing of the glass plate negatives is just great., i saw the square grand in the parlor which was a must have for a victorian home!
