Reminder that Warner Brothers (Adult Swim parent company) is doubling down on more games like Kill the Justice League (despite being a massive critical and comercial failure) while also shutting down Adult Swim Games and delisting all of their games from stores
I feel like this was a dig at most AAA game studios especially Nintendo which has a bunch of IPs that they sit on and actively sue people for making fan-games of too for that matter, and are the leading company that wants to get rid of anything that has to do with emulation, and then they turn around and just re-release a few of them for a marked up price, a limited time and usually worse than the original game was.

@@ThatGuySizzleMactbh nintendo is probably one of the better companies when it comes to keeping their ips in use, most of their dead series are ones nobody cares about aside from like f zero, donkey kong country, star fox, kid icarus, punch out, and maybe chibi robo and golden sun
now compare that to other companies like ubisoft, bandai namco (barely cares about them unless its tekken, fromsoftware and anime licenses), sega (who only started to use more of them again a few years ago) ea and especially sony and microsoft

F-Zero isn't dead by technicality, it did get a game launched sometime ago, so its not dead dead.
Donkey Kong Country is just inactive like Metroid was, Tropical Freeze is on Switch and New Horizons didn't get a new title for five years with the previous title being amiibo festival.
Star Fox, they don't know what to do, the franchise is from a company they bankrupted, the best game from the series is over 25 years old, their attempt to branch out resulted in a fickled game they took the concept of from another game that was supposed to be on the same console their best seller is, and the "remake" is just awful from their attempt at merging the Wii U and TV Screen into one.
I think it's a Masahiro Sakurai thing honestly, since the original games we're under Hudson Soft alongside Kirby. Maybe he'll ask to do another idk.
Punch Out just feels like it's replaced by Arms because I feel the series can't exist with how the game will get labelled racist if you've seen the previous titles. Wii is good and I enjoy the characitures as they're stereotypical but not outright racist for the most part.
Chibi Robo gets games, but it may still take a back seat since the launch title for the series is one thats considered the good one.
Golden Sun is true and the only dead franchise I'm aware of.
The Nintendo closure of the E-shop comes to mind. It wasn't the closure itself: It's that many games are now not going to be available. Either cause they don't get ported, or they're indie games. And once you try to emulate a game NOBODY OTHERWISE CAN ACCESS NOR ENJOY -boom. Creators of the emulator gets blasted.

That's how I felt about him, and after the dude was killed he just kinda didn't know what to do anymore until gwimbly stepped in, they seem like some kinda family in a way

Fortunately, the various studios who made those games can relist the games themselves. Unfortunately, their user reviews will be reset, drastically reducing their visibility. The infuriating thing is that manually transferring the games back to their respective developers would take one person like thirty minutes but WB is just refusing to do it before they close Adult Swim Games.
