Very impressive. Clean, quiet and very Hi-Tech. The entire process looks almost "automated" even though a person is still doing a large part of the assembly work.
I became a mechanical engineer just so I could be like this guy. This is literally my dream job. Would greatly appreciate if someone could share some insight on how to be an engine builder at Mercedes AMG.
I thought AMG stood for All My Greenbacks. Where do they install the device that destroys the engine when the powertrain warranty expires. "Your warranty is expired. Zis will be an expensive engine replacement. Zis will be....one. Million. Dollars..."
The headline is one man, one engine but most of the jobs are being done by robots, that guy is just tightening some of the screws and carrying the engine from one station to another. Should we call this the engine mastery? Sorry, but I don’t think so.
Remember, clean installation and clean environment does not translate to quality control, Using H beam Conrad’s and testing the engine 12 months in arctic temperatures, cold start in arctic every day with 5000 rpm that’s quality control. Don’t fool yourselves with this none sense.
Assembly is basic. Needs to be done right though. Where to magic happens is in the manufacture of the engine components and their tolerances. Assembling heads, pistons and blocks etc and then putting them together is basically assembling lego. Is this video in slow motion? If mechanics for the plebs worked at this speed and charged by the hour, it would be cheaper to buy a new car.
John P Yes, it will be heavier. Will it use more fuel? Maybe Yes, maybe No. Under load such small engine is extremely thirsty. Top Gear measured something like 70 l/100 km for Mitsubishi Evo FQ400 with 2.0 engine. Also such tuned engine is so stressed that the overall resource is relatively small. No thanks!
Do you remember the 5.5 litre naturally aspirated V8 in Mercedes SLK 55 AMG - exactly the same power output, slightly higher torque - that's a proper AMG engine. I'll be happy to pay the fuel bills. As I said - impressive but not better!
John P don’t mind him. The world is moving forward so is Mercedes! V8 is a thing of the past which is why I traded my C63s for the GLC43 AMG crossover. My suv is 4matic and quicker off the line than my formal C63s.
They have massive component quality control problem. Those rods for instance are weak and bend under pressure. Weak camshafts, weak camshaft adjusters. These guys are not reliable.
Gees, might as well just have machines make the engines entirely. The builder isn't doing much. He can't even put RTV on it without the computer controlled machine.
TESLA tried to do as much robotics on their assembly lines, and after a while they found out, some tasks just needed too many repeating tweaks of the robot program, and still would do a lot of "mistakes" and errors. In the end they still incorporate human element in some tasks. Some task are too complicated, not repeatable etc, and sometimes human can see the error outright but the machine cannot. However this is as of now, of course robotics will develop more and more, and sometime in the future probably the whole engine could be assembled by a robot. But not for now. And of course sometimes human is just cheaper than creating a very expensive robot for it.
So how is this man made? AND I SEE WHY AN AMG CAR IS WAY OVERPRICED. LOOK AT THIS CRAP. 90 PERCENT UNNECESSARY. ALL THIS OVER HEAD FOR NOTHING. USE LESS TECHNOLOGY WITH ROBOTS.

this was 20 min of my life that...... i enjoyed😉
Engine of my car!❤️❤️❤️
AMG ist die perfeckte Symbiose aus Kraft u. Eleganc. Einmal AMG bedeutet immer AMG 👏👏
i like the way the tool box follows him about i could do with a drinks cabinet like that ;)
Michad Mitler you did a fine job. I wish i could buy one of your AMG cars someday
Coolest lab ever

Thanks
Very professional, mercedes benz is my dream car 😍
This is the start of Mercedes-Benz amg mass production of amazing, powerful,relieable..... engine productions
what gibberish
Its AMAZING!!!
*AMG Soft-Porno* 🙀🙀🙀
asmr amg, I see.
Advanced technology takes a lot of the work from building a engine, however who do you credit the machine or the guy running the machine.
Is that for the A45??
Ghost tool cabinet follows him everywhere.
Wow..The future is so bright. We have so powerful and at the same time, efficient engines..😊
not the future for very long
@@john_p But still, till there's petrol available.
@@Rahul-op3ry petrol will still be available in 50 years. new ice-motored cars won't be.

at time 12:12 what's market brand name of the machine

This show is so impressive love it 🔥🇩🇪😍
What are the Qualifications to work in this Environment?
Learn More you must be handsome guy 🤪
You need the normal qualification
Cool video, but I didn't come to see the guy's face every 30 seconds. I came to see the engine and that's what I'd like to see, just that.
They are actually Cyborgs.
But that's what One man, one engine is about. This guy is a very important part of the process
Night mare of a thing to be working on after wty is over. I don’t see these being a high km motor!
would like a step by step go through of what is happening
I love the bmw advertising all over this.
What’s up with the Makita?
AMG!!! Sound makes you want to do nasty with the exhaust!
No!
ChumpyChicken2 HAHAHA!
J'aime bien 😆😆😆😆 😆 😆 😆
Bravo 👍
I feel sorry for this guy like many others. Soon we will say goodbye to conventional engines.
Where is this facility ?
In Affalterbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Approximately 20km from Stuttgart
If I buy one, does the technician come with it? Hubba hubba
Chandler Horning that’s gay
@@bowzist LOL
EXACTLY .. EXACTLY .. this man herr needs a medal he is asking the right questions!
Can we get a video of the jaguar 5.0 supercharged engine
Those are built in barn with a dirt floor lol
the engine in my prius also kinda look the same
It's been a while since I've last watched silent porn.
Still.... what the fudge is a high performance engine doing in a pharmaceutical lab ?
Do you have account in Twitter

"Your warranty is expired. Zis will be an expensive engine replacement. Zis will be....one. Million. Dollars..."
Too much B Roll footage and guy's face. Just have a stable shot at the engine please.
The headline is one man, one engine but most of the jobs are being done by robots, that guy is just tightening some of the screws and carrying the engine from one station to another. Should we call this the engine mastery? Sorry, but I don’t think so.
I mean who is the guy? No name no credit nothing?
You don’t have to have almost every single shot rolling sideways. Like 50% at most.
What is the the salary of this guy?

I never got BMW ads?! Only crappy Range Rover ones.

why they need the guy?
aren't they have robots?
one robot, ten engine
Because quality, not quantity

Vor der Kamera schön langsam arbeiten, danach bestimmt buckeln wie ein Weltmeister.
Great engine. Then you got an pair it with a Haldex. What a waste.
Viel Leiharbeiter viel Engine
Детский сад! За индусом интереснее было смотреть!...
Did I see a timing belt? This is bad, I would never buy an engine with one.
You can see clearly at 10:05 that it's a chain.
@@LQTu 4:45. This. Maybe a water pump belt. But still a weak point.
Impressive, but still prefer to take this 400+ bhp from a V8 engine!
So it would be heavier and use more fuel?

you want to put a 5.5 litre v8 in a compact hatch where its current 4cyl is already a tight fit ....

R4 engine layout + AMG it doesnt fit
