Come on... I love Kurk, but Viktor's performance that year was stunningly beautiful. Some here are asking why Viktor got first? He got first because his combo was much better, his lutz was harder than the flip, and smoother, and his artistry was much better. Also, Kurk's "flip" was taken off on the wrong edge. For me there was no comparison.
@bryan21tx Yeah, he didn't land on both feet though. It just very gently touched the ice as he was pulling it out. The thing about Kurt was he had very difficult technique on his Lutz and Flip jumps. Look at where his toepick is when he takes off from the jump...he picks in completely forwards and doesn't pre-rotate from that point at all before taking off. As a result, he has to rotate an extra amount. This performance should have been placed ahead of Petrenko's. Greater originality on display.
Browning is an artist. He uses every beat of the music and he skates with incredible speed. No comparison.
Incredible. Light in the jumps, such a good feeling for music, movement. Awesome.
brilliant choreography. And brilliant skating. I remember watching this SP with my mom and she said it scared her)) That music and movements)
@0:45 - Kurt - Maybe the best double Axel I've ever seen.

The reason Petrenko was ahead of Browning at this stage was because he performed a 3Lutz instead of a 3Flip. Lutz beats Flip
What's funny is if you slow-mo Kurt's "flip", it appears to be taken off a BOE, so he actually WAS doing a lutz.
