FYI, first shot of the season was a Robin crayon prophecy drawing of the last scene with May and Coulson holding hands on the beach.
Also the drawing of the big person with many people inside it is Graviton with the souls of other people in the gravitonium.
Technically she should have not drew that picture because it was before anything changed.

I was literally Rana when Fitz died. I was crying and screaming at the screen and shouting i am not gonna watch this show again, poor Rana. I can feel you girl, every goddamn tear.
Saaame, it was so sad and heartbreaking, it took me a while before I understood that there’s the Fitz in space, so I was like, I quit I’m not gonna watch this anymore. But then I watched, because Fitz is alive 😊 still sad though

What I noticed for the first time, is that although Yoyo focused on saving the world than saving Coulson, she was the one who saved him at the end!

It's interesting because not many people have noticed that in the future Coulson and Daisy were missing, not just Mack. So I assume that not Coulson or Daisy have taken the serum and because of that both died which means that Talbot got it with odium so Yoyo wasn't really right. Talbot + serum with odium was a bad idea - it give him more power and then killed him. If not Yoyo and her invincible shit none of this would happened, Talbot would never become the Graviton and Confederacy would never attack the base.

Future Yoyo describes not being able to change anyone’s choices and at the moment in the beginning of the finale she definitely experienced failing to change their minds.
Which means May definitely smashed the odium.
@@bifa5414 odium will always break, coulson may or may not take the serum. As we saw the video footage in episode 8 showing where Daisy was last seen, Daisy will always confront Coulson meaning the serum could be anywhere and was just not used on Daisy

I'm sure someone already mentioned this, but this was actually shot as a series finale because they still weren't renewed for Season 6, and wanted to make sure loose ends were all tied up before the plug got pulled. Lucky for us, we get abbreviated seasons 6 and 7! So the REAL finale will be a heartbreaker, I bet!

Guys I literally watched this RIGHT after Infinity War and my soul was gone.
I guess we know can reveal the sad truth: The movie department kind of screwed the show over. They didn't tell the writers ANYTHING of what they were planning, not even a warning to maybe steer away from trying to reference Infinity War. On top of this, the writers were planning season 5 as the season finale, they had no idea that there would be a renewal after all. But they have solved other problems before, I am sure they'll find a solution for that one, too.
Well all things considered they did a well enough job with season 6, and I’m sure they’re gonna deliver with season 7
I frankly can't wait!
Too this day I believe the movies were upset that SHIELD with very little information could craft a better story than Sony and at least and sometimes better stories than than the MCU. The Movie division needs to bring up some of the showrunners from the better shows to help with their new divisions.
Acording to a leak SHEILD season 7 will explain why season 6 didn’t reference the snap. But take that with a grain of salt
Movie studio doesn't owe anything to Showrunners. They are not obligated to share any of their work with them. Showrunners can pretend like they are all in same universe but movie studio don't give a shit.
Any version of Fitz is a badass version of Fitz.
Also, if you check back in season 1 there is an episode called The Beginning of the End and this episode is called The End.
They also do this in another show Merlin and I tell ya when you rewatch the show... well damn!

Just to clarify, Robin said that IF she didn't tell Talbot she'd never see her mom again, she did tell Talbot, so seeing Polly again wasn't a change.
But it was suggested mom was to die on the ship with Mack. Maybe she, Mau and Fitz find bodies?
On one hand you got Rana going through a mental breakdown because of the feels and the other you got Pat who almost sounded happy about Fitz' death.

Amadeus _03 I think that comes more to a matter of a opinion. To me I think season 5 was Darker because of the system they were living in. They could have literally been killed at any time had they made one wrong move.

Rana is my kind of fan. Just the natural empathy with the characters. Pure emotion in the key moments, even that slow, tragic push in on Jemma as Mack delivers the news.

So glad you guys finally got here!!! This was such a great season, and I'm glad I got to experience it with you guys! :) Rana crying at Fitz's death was heartbreaking... Great to see Navi again as well! I I totally agree--they could have ended it here haha. Season 6 isn't as amazing IMO, but still worth watching because we love these characters
In my personal opinion, Season 6 & 7 are just one big season. So I'd wait until Season 7 to rank them.

There are multiple timelines:
The main MCU timeline.
The Broken Earth Timeline.
"Something's Different" Timeline.
Originally, this was the Series Finale & "Snap" took place after last scene in the MCU timeline.
Consider Season 6 the adventures of our AOS team in the last one, the SDT timeline.
I heard Mickey mention Lola around the 19:10 mark, then I went downstairs. My dad was watching Captain America 1, where Howard Stark is showing his red hover car. Freaky universe shit man.

s6 doesn't address the snap. AOS showrunners were facing the possibility of coming back for s6 BFORE Endgame was released. They COULDN"T risk writing anything that could end up spoiling events from the movie; so, they ended up keeping season 6 quite insular and personal and without mention of Thanos repercussions. In fact, some of us speculate that AOS is now taking place in an alternate timeline from that of the MCU! Which, it may as well be, since the MCU stopped acknowledging AOS a long time ago; but, I'm not bitter : (

They've literally said they will address it though. It'll be the "missing/mystery," storyline from series 6. Trying to be vague.
My canon is that at the middle of season 5 when they return back from the future they end up in a universe where the avengers beat thanos
Hey Normies! Quick favor, it will take less than a minute, go watch the first scene of the s5e1. (its actually the first frame, after the recap) Yup. May and Coulson holding hands on an island was foreshadowed all the way at the beginning! Season 5 is great to watch reactions to because this theme of foreshadowing is used so heavily this season. It also uses callbacks frequently, probably because they thought it was the last season. Agents of SHIELD has done a great job over the seasons of utilizing a main theme for each of their seasons. (S1: Initiation S2: Transformation and False Appearances S3: Destiny, Salvation and Sacrifice S4: Vengeance vs Redemption S5: Foreshadowing, Callbacks and Preservation or Heroism) S6 also has a theme you can point to, would love to see if you guys come to the same conclusion as me or take it someplace different. MCU events set the bar high for s6, but just sit back and enjoy the story they're trying to tell.
Around this time, the Battle of Wakanda and the Battle of Titan are in full force right now. And the Snap happens mere minutes after the ending of this episode. So the SHIELD team wasn’t even on Earth when the Snap happened.
I’ll talk more about the Snap ramifications in the next reaction.
They don't into space straight after this episode ends though, so they were on Earth. Not that it would make a different where they were.
My canon is that when they come back from the future they end up in a universe where the Avengers win against thanos

- Love May's all in fighting style.
- Ian and Henry's acting 🙌
- Daisy running away from Quinn in 1x03 to a full on sprint towards an overpowered Talbot in 5x22 is immensely satisfying character growth.
- The weight of the season's story is on Robin's young actress with "Something's different" and she nails it!
- The music was snubbed for an Emmy nomination!

my theory is that when they traveled to the future it was an alternate reality future and when they came back, it was the past of that that future so now they're not in the main MCU timeline anymore. fitz and Deke even talked about multiverse at some point during this season.
The amount of atmosphere and emotion and BADDASS in this episode is HECKIN. One of the best episodes of TV out there.
Also that brief silence when Robin says "Somethings different" then the score takes over again, is brilliant.
Fast paced action and drama at its best.
Quake vs. Graviton, it felt like pages from a comic book coming to life. Good job show, you're the best.
And a couples of years later, I just finished rewatching S.5, and run to watch your reactions (wich I havent done at that time), along with a couple others. Love your reactions (specially Rana´s). I´m following you with Doctor Who too. Greetings from Argentina.
Next season is gonna be lit! Season 5 takes the peak but season 6 is full of fun surprises and explanations! You'll love it!
The way they did Fitz's death was very Joss Whedon. I won't name characters because of...20 year old spoilers but the series finales of both "Buffy" and "Angel" came to mind, not to mention Serenity. Seems both the Whedons prefer shocking, war-movie style deaths to drawn out, dramatic or climactic deaths.
The writers of endgame said when hulk snapped he put ppl in safe places like if ppl were on a plane during the first snap hulk snapped them back into existence on the ground and out of harms way.

The Time Travel here is similar to Avengers End Game. That when you time travel, you are creating an alternate timeline.
That would also explain why that Fitz had to die cause he technically didn't belong in that timeline.
@@bluepearl_22 Deke doesn't belong in the timeline anyways. Fitz didn't HAVE to die. And S7 wise, there are two other people (not gonna specify in case you haven't seen yet) who also come from alternate timelines into the prime timeline. Not to mention Endgame again, we have Gamora from another timeline.
I enjoy the gang reacting to these shows but I totally love watching Rana FEEL these shows. She mirrors what alot of us felt the first time we watched it.

Rana, when I first saw this episode, I was right there with you -- just sobbing at what happened with Fitz. I was glad for the glimmer of hope that they can go find the other Fitz that's frozen, but oh man... it still broke my heart. It's gut-wrenching.
Actually, I cried again just re-watching that part during your group reaction. It's gut-wrenching EVERY time.

Having rewatched the show several times from season one I've noticed that at least 98 percent of the episodes' titles are literally mentioned on the show (in fact it could be more than that) until end of season 5. I thought that was cool. Probably the only show that does that.
Season 5 finale (and the 21st ep of this season) is my second fave season ending. So good.
Yoyo wasnt trying to save the world, she was just trying to save Mack but then she gets angry at Daisy and May for wanting to save Coulson! OMGosh!

Btw, AoS is one of the few TV shows that got the right to finish "on their own terms" - no sudden cancellations, despite they were prepared for them after basically every single season. Thus, big hopes on season 7 and the whole series finale!

Hello guys. I’m glad you uploaded ep 21 and 22 this week.
I haven't gone ahead and watched Season 6 yet, so I don't know if Deke turns back up. But we are left with the impression that he DID pop out of existence. Toward the beginning of the episode, while talking with Daisy, we see his room, filled with all kinds of junk. At the very end of the episode, Jemma walks into the room and everything is gone. It's possible he took off with all of his stuff, I guess, but how would he just leave, with all of those belongings, in the middle of a battle?
8:33 I agree with Marketa. At this scene I remembered Thanos telling Tony "All that for a drop of blood?" Here, Talbot took out such a big portion of ground for a little gravitonium...

While I do think making Mack the Director was the right decision now I think that we will eventually see Daisy become the Director by the series finale. It would be the completion of her character arc and it would be a nice full circle for S.H.I.E.L.D. Because in the MCU it was founded by Peggy Carter whose first name is Margaret which is derived from the French word Marguerite which means Daisy.
Also Daisy Johnson, in the comics, becomes directoc of Shield.
I hope not. I fucking hate her character. She has proven time and time again that she is not a leader (just like May isn't). She is a soldier. Neither her personality nor her mentality fit that of a true leader unlike Mack who's main strength in the team is to be the voice of reason and compassion (like a true leader).

I love daisy and May and the whole team but the two of them pissed me off they were like screw earth let’s just save Coulson even though Coulson was ready to finally kick the bucket and he knew that Mack, Fitz, Yo-yo,Jemma, Daisy and may and piper and Davis could keep the earth safe from all threats and carry on his legacy it took until this episode for Daisy and may to get on board w/ the others and let Coulson go live his last few days in peace.
Everyone but Fitz was transported through time to the future, but because Fitz took the long way there, when they all came back in time there would always be two Fitz' existing at the same time, just one of them was up in space in cryosleep. Since the future Fitz died, they can just go grab the past Fitz in space and bring him back. This Fitz has no idea that he and Jemma are already married and also hasn't met Deke so he'd have no idea that they met their grandson, nor would he know of what Dark Fitz did to Daisy when pulling the inhibitor out of her neck.
I like to think season 6 and 7 are the Agents of Shield epilogues. They're not part of the main show. They're like movies that came out after the show ends

It's surprising (no offense) what a great understanding they had about how Fitz in space works and why it's okay to wake him up now. Some other people insist it should be a paradox when the show is clearly going for a multiverse (or at least multi-timeline) approach.

By this point in the season I had completely forgotten that Fitz was frozen in space with Enoch, so I was hella confused and in tears when Coulson was all "he's out there in space unaware that he saved the world", but then I was really happy because FitzSimmons and Deke 🥰

Suspended animation is just that. All of the cell-functions are suspended and so nobody grows older while in suspended animation.
This episode was written as the series finale before they got a season 6 and 7.
Guys, they changed timelines. Doctor Strange saw 1 scenario with everyone living, this is the one he missed. Simple as that. In this new universe, the Avengers stop Thanos or something like that.
So in short, the snap isn't happening because in this timeline Thanos didn't make it.

I have a theory May is the one who broke the loop. Robin told her she was important but all we know is May just mentions Flint. I think her breaking the odium is what changed things. I wrote about it on some other comments but yeah.

You may be right because breaking the odium ended the argument and they could then fully focus on saving the world instead of arguing.
@@Karas540 I thought about it further. I think in every version, Coulson refuses treatment. I think if Daisy had the odium and either took it or had Talbot take it, that'd be enough to crack the world.
Gary Au well here’s what I think happened since talbot was able to absorb Creel. I think after he absorbed Daisy in the reality where earth cracked he then got her powers and Quaked the earth a part just like Graviton tells Daisy he will do b4 they fight he says he will just get her powers and crack the earth apart looking for the gravitioniun deposits so he could make himself a tank to go and fight and kill Thanos.
@@pyr1412 right. If the Odium wasn't broken by May in any of the other timelines, Daisy's mission would be to get Talbot to take it. We know she's willing to sacrifice herself and maybe she takes it knowing he'll want to absorb her. In some, maybe she takes the Centipede serum as well which will make Talbot even more powerful.
I think Talbot is already extremely powerful as Graviton, but not enough to accidentally crack the entire world. He still thinks he's saving it. Taking centipede would give him the power but it's the odium that would make him lose his mind and go absolutely crazy enough to do it by accident.
I also like to think Robin didn't specifically tell May to break the Odium as she looks torn and distraught doing it. I think it was a continuation of how Coulson can put the pieces together. She probably told her to tell Phil how she feels knowing if she becomes honest with her feelings, she'll fall harder and break the odium. Hence her finally revealing her feelings to him over the next few episodes.

That was a metaphorical way of illustrating how a part of Fitz died... so he can return stronger than ever.
If so it's still kind of crappy that the business with Daisy is just swept under the rug.

The difference was that they did not save Coulsen and so Daisy was able to shoot Graviton into space.
You guys missed what Robin said to the mom. She said if she didint help him that would be the last time she saw her mom but she ended up helping him so she got to see her mom one more time b4 she died

My favorites of Season 5 is pretty much everything Fitz. I especially loved when Hunter came to break him out of prison, and Fitz is all angry, "I've been waiting for you for SIX MONTHS!" and then they are just like "I missed you, man!" and hug each other. LOL. I love that so much.
I've been wondering where Navi was for months, I'm glad she could be here.

The title The End, was do to the fact they though it was going to be the series finale. The renewed announcement came just days before the episode aired. Did you guys forget about ep 5? The other Fitz is in space with Enoch. What happened to Deke? Was he erased? It was confirmed this Finale happened several hours before the Snap.
