Mr Sammons, the difference is that we are not afraid to criticize fellow Catholic (sometimes too hard;)). I have a dear Jewish friend, we can discuss many topics but not this one! I was told that NO One will say one bad word about her people!!! Can’t do. Can’t even mention it. That is the main difference between “us” and “them” …
"I have published this little book, so that I might be found among those who opposed such poisonous activities of the Jews and who warned the Christians to be on their guard against them." Martin Luther, 1543.
It is actually quite simple: What is important for a Christian is not whether a statement is anti-Semitic or not, especially since there is no universally valid definition of this term. What is important is whether a statement is true or not. For example, is baptism necessary for salvation for the group of people in question, yes or no? Does charity require us to pray on Good Friday for the (necessary!) conversion of this group of people, yes or no? Does the Talmud make a specific statement about the fate of our Savior, yes or no? Forget the term anti-Semitism, seek the truth! (Whether intentional or not, it is definitely advantageous for the group in question not to even agree on a universally valid definition among themselves, so that one never knows whether one is guilty of this new sin or not.)
Don't like this concept 'the noticers'. You might as well accuse people of paranoia. If someone 'notices' something the question is whether that something is really there. If I notice a clump of trees, is that a wood, or just some trees, or am i simply a tree 'noticer'?
The original Politburo had 7 members Lenin (debateable) - definitelt married to a jew Leon Trotsky - Jew Grigory Zinoviev - Jew Lev Kamenev - Jew Joseph Stalin - Gentile Grigori Sokolnikov - Jew Andrei Bubnov - Gentile?
It is somewhat disappointing to see how a man of your stature repeatedly distances himself from a group ("the noticer crowd") that he has such a strong aversion to that he doesn't even seem to read their books, but instead just relies on the comments of their supposed followers, some of whom he even considers to be just bots! In this way, as with the topic of fundamentalism recently, you invent a straw man in order to then position yourself comfortably in the middle. I don't think that's decent.
The modern state of Israel is a nation among nations. As such, it has a right to exist; but it also needs to be held to the same standards as all nations. Jews are human beings like all other human beings, and they are no more or less wicked than the rest of us; as humans, they need Christ as each one of us does. The Jews were once the Chosen People, but no longer. Pius XI said as much in the Consecration Prayer to the Sacred Heart decreed for the Feast of Christ the King. They are examples for us--Catholics need to see that God's blessings should not be presumed. There is a history of persecution of Jews by some Catholics over the centuries; it's also true that the Church has been one of the best defenders of the Jewish people. And regarding the execution of Christ: it was a wicked cooperative effort by Jews, Gentile Romans, and satan and his minions. To merely mouth the phrase "Christ-Killers" is foolishness.
Oh my gosh, this presentation both in terms of the history of Zionism and its connection to the Old Testament prophets who indeed are part of the foundation of the New Testament church(Ephesians 2:20) And then that brief history of antisemitism that leaves out 1000 years of ethnic hatred is just not good history
Wow. First, we need a precise definition of “Anti-Semitism” because Arabs are also Semites. The term “Antisemitism” has been overly used and weaponized. Second, Zionism is an atheistic and political movement. This has absolutely nothing with hating Jews. We must love them and pray for their conversion. It may be hard to believe, but Jesus was not a Jew. He was a Hebrew Israelite. Many times in the New Testament, the word, “Jew” is mostly used as a pejorative. It’s because when Jesus died on the cross as the Lamb of God, the book was closed on the religion of Judaism and the Mosaic Law. The only covenant that still exists is the Abrahamic Covenant, of which Catholics are included, along with the Old Testament Hebrew Israelites.
At some point you have to make decision. That said, I recommend two books. WHY THE JEWS? by Rabbi Telushkin and Dennis Prager. The second book is AN EMPIRE OF OUR OWN by Neal Gabler which is essentially a history of Hollywood going back to the silent films. Yes Jews have been a dominant presence not just in Hollywood, but in entertainment in general. I can't imagine classical music without Jewish composers and musicians and I have a fairly serious t collection of the classical genre. I could speak briefly of an encounter with a woman, a resident of Dearborn, Michigan, many years ago that was brutal and shocking. Needless to say, or should be so, Israel is a divided nation, seriously so. The demographics are these. Seven million Jews live here in America. Seven million Jews live in Israel. The divide is not trivial in Israel. It is essentially based on this: how shall I live; how shall we live? The rest of the Jews whose ancestors survived the Holocaust in Europe and as immigrants in America are scattered across the world. Total: 15 million. If I were Jewish I would NOT see that as robust figure. I also worked in New York book publishing, another field where Jews have made an historic contribution. The Jews are not "alien" in any way to me. In fact they have been in my life going back elementary school in a working class neighborhood of Detroit where it seemed to me that you were either Polish Catholic or Southern Baptist. And yet there they were; an extremely small scattering of the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. My own roots are in the working class and working poor of Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. "Hillbilly Elegy" country. My gratitude to Mr. Sammons for his difficult and courageous editorial decisions over the years. Footnote: In Michael Hesemann's THE POPE AND THE HOLOCAUST, the first group of Jews that Rome helped escape Germany were 200,000 Jewish converts to Catholicism. Hitler made no distinction by religion. Once commitments were made by Brazil and other countries to help in this, a push back began so that thousands promised escape dwindled to much lower numbers. The problem then was Catholic countries in Latin America among others. Pius XII and bishops in Europe continued their efforts as they learned what worked and what didn't. Proclaiming your virtue courage from the ambo was counter productive.
Emailed him and called him over a year ago begging to help him navigate this difficult topic, which I would have done without trying to enforce my own views. No response. Typical of this class of people I suppose
For Catholics looking for the perennial truth of Jewish and Christian relations, look to Fr James Mawdsley and his book If You Believed Moses.
Check out the Second Volume in particular!
I don't care if people call me "antisemitic". I care if what I'm saying is true or not.

There were reasons why they were persecuted

Michael Lofton actually debunked the idea of Jesus being in the Talmud
Trent Horn has jumped on the calumny train calling Candace Owens antisemitic for no reason whatsoever.
@@edukaeshn Trent horn is fake E. Michael Jones refuted all the stuff he fabricated in his “debate” on holocaust denial 😒
They just banned Candace from Australia. These ppl are insufferable 😫
And her being a vicious anti-Semite who ignores the Church's injunctions against anti-semitism has nothing to do with it.

He defines his terms then stretches the term "anti-Semite" before our eyes to include people with basic pattern recognition.
You can notice individual trees but you can't say "The Trees" or you're an anti-arborite.
Thank you for for responding to so many of my questions Mr. Sammons! Great stream
The original Politburo had 7 members
Lenin (debateable) - definitelt married to a jew
Leon Trotsky - Jew
Grigory Zinoviev - Jew
Lev Kamenev - Jew
Joseph Stalin - Gentile
Grigori Sokolnikov - Jew
Andrei Bubnov - Gentile?
The 'just-so' story garbage pedalled in this video has nothing to do with Catholicism whatsoever. What a disgrace.
I'm starting a new hashtag. #bringbackthebeard
The problem is mammon’s place in the public’s mind, and heart.
I presume this is a response to EMJ.

You now exist solely to gatekeep discussion of a subject you've done zero research into. Embarrassingly dishonest.

I've been in the religious Jewish world and Catholic world and it's a toss-up which one is more ignorant of the other.
Useful information. Elaborate brother?
