Just awesome presentation!!! Bravo bravo bravo!!! Gave me great idea how to improve my heat pump setup (heating, cooling, DHW, solar - w/buffer tank). Thanks
Thank you very much for your videos. How would you configure multiple heat sources, say solar thermal, woodstove, boiler into space heating of radiators and UFH
Great info from such a short clip. Installing a new buffer tank on a dual fuel, geo/boiler system tomorrow and I always question the piping decisions made before I get my hands on the system to make permanent changes to it. Do you do local training in the Minneapolis area as well? I would be very interested.Thanks.
Jeff we do online training all the time so just keep your eyes peeled. You can also follow Michael Ridler on LinkedIn he posts all of our trainings well in advance both in person and virtual. He trained 300 contractors and engineers online just this week. We love training!
Would setting up a tank with an equal capacity to the rest of the system that is kept at temperature be practical? Tank could be on a thermostat with heating source and radiators and their pumps on a separate thermo.
Setting up a tank to equal capacity we would not do. That said we definitely would charge the buffer tank with a sensor from the heating/cooling appliance and use the thermostats to draw heat from it. NOT to actually run the equipment. We have more training we are uploading that touches on this in detail.
how does the 3 pipe works compared to a 4 pipe system 2 out and 2 in, with 2 cirk pumps etc, because my system has very smal 10 mm floor heat pipes and requires a high flow rate to both heatpump and floor heat so i was adviced to have 4 pipe system with buffert tank, but i really would like to make the 3 pipe instead, and as you said make the T connection short and fat,, but i wonder how the flow will be affected from the 4 pipe, what do you suggest..i dont see what else can be the difference ?

You are quite welcome! Many more great training videos to come!
Thank you very much 😊

MM - Look for a new video on this very topic that we are about to upload. :)

I’m in MSP as well and I’ve learned so much from Hot Rod and Siggy through their coffee with Caleffi series here on RUclips. Good stuff

Thank you, great indeed. Please, what software was used to draw these illustrations?
Visio King King. Thanks for asking. Sorry for our slow reply :)

All the methods have their advantages and disadvantages. We will incorporate this question into a future video.
A buffer tank having three ports, inlet outlet recirculation kindly explain how to connect these.
Greak question NK. We will do up another video very soon explaining this. We have lots of new training videos we are in the process of uploading.
supervideo btw! 'Like*
Thank you very much!
