I thought I was at the ultimate Halloween party of the century.. and when I came back to sobriety I realized I had just witnessed a Ghost concert. Truly masters of melody and tonality. Such clean vibrant jams. Definitely one of those power hitter groups.
My favourite part is when Papa gets up and does his sideways walk whilst avoiding stepping on the Nameless Ghoul's feet, even though there is no seats in front of them. And when he sees the spectre in the sky, the overly dramatic way he points. Love this band!!
I love the mental confusion they cause, when you see their pictures you think GOSH THEY'RE PROBABLY A HEAVY BLACK METAL BAND. And then you listen to their songs and they're like a 70's rock n' roll with a touch of black sabbath.
That's how I felt when I first saw Ghost. I was sure I'd hate them. Then I listened to Secular Haze and I loved it. It was the type of music that I love.
I remember their first album was labeled black metal on metal-archives forums and remember thinking it was odd. They argued the lyrical themes made it BM. I don't think so.
As a construction worker, it is very important for things to both be on the square, and on the level. Also, walls on are always crooked if the building is old enough
the 7thbananaking *proffers dodgy handshake* how much can you knock off for that *cough* totally fire-resistant cladding for this tower block, Brother?
This song is obviously about free masonry. Thank you construction man for bringing this to comments, you're the first person I've seen make that connection besides myself
spend a week in hospital. have life saving surgery. get released from hospital yesterday. find out ghost has new album today. great week after all YAY!
I've always been so jealous of people who've followed amazing bands their entire career. Bands like The Who, Iron Maiden, and Rush. For a long time I've been searching for a band I could get into and listen for the rest of my life and I think Ghost is that band. I sincerely hope these guys stick around and keep making music because I want to be listening to them still when I'm fifty.
Don't be surprised if that changes as you get older...you may even find some bands who you have not even heard who are not even around any more......just sayin
I know exactly what you mean. I always wished I knew what it was like to grow up with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. - Ghost has all the mystique, skill and sound to be just as relevant in the modern era IMO. I actually bought a record player the other day just to start my Ghost vinyl collection lol.
Falcon3 growing up with Metallica is similar to Led Zepplin/AC DC etc....they truly were mega stars and album releases took up a lot of TV Time and media frenzy.
I love Ghost so much, and I will never understand some of the hate they receive from metal elitists. It confounds me, because they are essentially a throwback to older hard rock bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Blue Oyster Cult, and King Crimson, with a dash of Candlemass thrown in for good measure. It's so classic and timeless, I don't see how anyone could truly hate it, unless they hate the very concept of fun itself. :P
Ikr. I'm honest, I can't really have much of an opinion of that since I'm not a metal head or know much about metal. But when I got hooked with with band and went to their concert I was blown away. The more I discover of them, especially Tobias, I can't help myself but love them even more. The short chapters are so hilarious and the whole story behind this band and their members is amazing. It's just downright entertaining not to forget how awesome the music is. There's not a single song out of all their albums that I don't like
I remember in high school when you liked one type of music you kinda looked down on people who would listen to something different. Now I'm an adult and I appreciate good music regardless of the genre and this right here is a good piece of music.
Ask these narrow minded morons if they like Mercyful Fate or King Diamond, because the influence here is painfully obvious. Not on this song per se but on various material on earlier releases. Then mention Motorhead and what Lemmy always referred to his band as, Rock'n'Roll.
Living in the night 'Neath devils torn asunder You call on me to solve a crooked rhyme As I'm closing in Imposing on your slumber You call on me as bells begin to chime Are you on the square? Are you on the level? Are you ready to swear right here, right now Before the devil That you're on the square That you're on the level That you're ready to stand right here, right now Right here, right now Hiding from the light Sacrificing nothing Still you call on me for entrance to the shrine Hammering the nails Into a sacred coffin You call on me for powers clandestine Are you on the square? Are you on the level? Are you ready to swear right here, right now Before the devil That you're on the square That you're on the level That you're…
They've done what they set out which was "Ghost is the name of a devil worshipping ministry, that in order to spread its unholy gospels and, furthermore, trick mankind into believing the end is ultimately a good thing, have decided to use the ever so popular rock music medium as a way to achieve their ends."
This is about as close to perfect as a rock song can get. Great lyrics, great instrumental work, catchy as Hell hook, perfect length, no wasted seconds
They are original in some ways like to mix "churche music" with the 80's music, making nice videos with satanic letters, in the custumes obviously and the meaning of it all that they want to give us...music and freedom, without foolish people that tell us how to live or how we have to think. Maybe Ghost isn't metal band completely but for me they are more than a original band, they are amazing and more because they are a very young. :)
My cat loves this music video. I don't know why, she probably likes something about the motion or the lights, but every time I put it on on my phone when she's in the room she's captivated. She watches the whole video every time pawing at the screen.
The band's great sense of humor is what drew me to them in the first place, but the high quality of the music kept me around. People who say that there's no good music out there are just being lazy old farts.
I literally can't get this damn song out of my head, fell in love after a couple of listens. Love the video too, Papa's easily the best frontman in music right now!
Here's how good Square Hammer is: I put the song on repeat and listened to it almost 30 times in a row while at the gym during a beast mode gym session! The chorus gets me so pumped and it pops up like 6 times during the song. Doing the math, that's 180 shots of adrenaline!!!
These guys are good, still need to step it up to get to Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, or Rob Zombie levels, if they wanna get that big in the "horror metal" genre, if you wanna call it that
Slipknot? Manson? Zombie? You are joking, right? Ghost are nearly at King Diamond level of showmanship now and that's like 100 orders of magnitude above the mentioned clowns.
They're not rock stars like the aforementioned so called clowns, pretty much the only rock stars in the rock metal genre around today are those three. Musicianship and showmanship are different things and not at all what I'm talking about
Ghost does such a great job on confusing people. Like at least 70% of the comments are discussions on what music genre the belong to or if they are really satanists. Great job Ghost you exceed at the art of trolling XD
There EPs are usually just for the purpose of experimenting with new sounds and ideas to see what works and such, so some of it may be a miss but it's still more Ghost so it's not bad
That is how cover songs go ;) "I Believe" is the weakest track, but "Bible" is phenomenal, and "Nocturnal Me" is superb, too. Just when I thought nothing was going to top "He Is", they best it with "Bible". "Square Hammer" is not in my top Ghost song list, but it is decent -- has a Type O Negative meets Foo Fighter vibe.
we gotta admit that papa emeritus III made the most iconic songs from all the ghost history... Circle and Square Hammer beeing only 2 of the most known
I LOVE the Old Ghost songs, BUT, the new songs from the new CD that I have heard aren't bad at all. I have NOT heard them all though,. BUT, I MUST say that the OLD stuff from Ghost, as in the first 4 CD';s were much more, "HEAVY", and even "Prequel" had some songs that I did LOVE. BUT, PREQUEL also had some songs that were "not my favorites". OLD Ghost had been just "special" to me. Although much of it is more "Satanic" in words and subjectmatter. I had never taken it seriously, I grew up in the 80's, the MECCA of heavy metal music being linked to satan, so here is ghost and they actually sing about satan so blatantly that IF anybody tries to link them to Satan, the band has already done it for them. It is all just a big old middle finger to anybody who is looking for negative stuff to judge them for. 🤣🤣
Ghost flat-out rocks and I give full credit. Tobias even goes so far as to get everyone up to speed on the play style so they can, in his words, be adequate together. I say the cohesion is just as great a quality in its own right as Tobias is shooting for and the following the band has would seem to confirm this. Oh, and don't worry about calling Cirice "circle", this happens more often than one might expect. At least one commenter to the official video for Cirice mentioned that this helped him realize he had dyslexia.
Naosie Tacticus I always thought he was more amazed by the effects since it’s implying it’s the first motion picture and then builds up to 3D effects and continues to escalate.
I think it was the electricity in the movie that he doesn't remember filming. Cuz it's right when the electricity started that he does that confused look
His humor is what really hooked me. If you don't take yourselves too seriously, and have fun with your music and creativity, then you are an awesome person.
then "Metal" is just so little for Ghost. They have proved that they can spread their ideology among every music genre that they could be interested in......
I don't see these guys as metal at all. More like pop rock honestly. So many metalheads have been talking this band up like crazy since they arrived on the scene and I really don't get the fuss. They don't sound that great.
well opinions differ but imagine that other bands that they have satanic theme are more like death and black metal ghost they did that without the usual scream and the usual dark and heavy breakdowns from the guitar the did something very different as far as i know they have a more theatrical and sinister look for me than other bands but like i said opinions differ
It's almost midnight where I am and even though I know I should be asleep here I lay in bed scrolling RUclips for anything Ghost related, Man I know I'm going to really tired when I get up in the morning but tonight I just wanted to listen to some Ghost ❤
Every song from them is amazing. Their older stuff sounds much closer to metal then their newer stuff, which is closer to pop or light rock. The first album (released in 2010) was called Opus Eponymous, and took the metal scene by storm. Their second album was called Infesstissumam (2013). And their third and most recent album is called Meliora (2015). They also have two EP albums. "If You have Ghost" (2014) and "Popestar", which was just released last Friday. Popestar features this song.
As with all Ghost songs I'm like eh..not heavy enough.. But cannot stop replaying it... Then the lyrics hit.. Then it all musically comes together .. Then it's just another perfect song from a perfect band...
I recently discovered this band.. and about 2 songs into the investigation, I decided to start from the beginning - over a 7 Day period I watched them evolve .... RUclips is so great for this... because once I heard it, (it was like seeing a trailer on TV and you instantly like it, so you hurry and change the channel so you don't ruin it) so starting from the beginning The singing through me off at first, but the SOUND of the over all big picture captivated me... and the strangeness of their frontman - the Mysteriousness of whether he was real, sometimes it seemed as he was acting/lipsinking during a live performance or was it simply a mask... but the music drew me in.. and the melody had a way of creeping under your skin until you had to hear it again.. and again.. As I grew to love them (the whole time not jumping ahead in their evolution, sticking to the timeline to take in everything in order) I was worried, would this be the band that gets better and better, or would this be the band that starts out strong and slowly fades downhill.. To my surprise they evolved better and better.. So obviously I'm talking about it at work, and with friends.. Most of them have heard of Ghost, But only know He wears a Pope Hat thinggy.. and assume they are a pretty hardcore thing, and didn't really give them any sort of chance... In some aspects they are Hardcore, Cuz I hear evrything from Dethklock to Disturbed in there... but the Singing and the melody put them into a class of their own... So today is Day 7 of my evolution and I'm here with you all jamming to this great new song Square Hammer.. OMG Ironically on day 5 my buddy informed me he bought 2 front row sets to the show in 10 days and his other friend already had tickets.. so I'm going to be seeing them in KALAMAZOO at the State Theater OCTOBER 4..Gonna be eppic...
Am I the only one who would totally watch an entire film with this plot and Ghost as their main characters??? I hope not. This song is such a bop, and the video really matches both the atmosphere and humour. Love this so much
An Ghost movie is in production. I heard this on Swedish radio like 2-3 weeks ago: There will be two professionally shot live concerts or at least parts of the concerts. Hopefully the two live gig segments have a great sound produciton/mix and that they copy the actual performance into their lil players. He's great already and perhaps can share something mindblowing with my son.
So far my favourite song and video. Ive been a metal fan since the 1980s and it all comes together here. Ghost has mastered old video imagery with modern metal music. Epic!
I'm an atheist so I guess am taking this band from a non secular level... But I really love their sound... It's in the style of what my father listened to whenever I was a kid ( he's into Rush and a lot of bands with that sound) so I'm constantly taken back to riding in the back of an oldschool station wagon on a cool fall night with the windows down... It's a glorious feeling.
Adding to the image maybe also being a child and having a peanut butter cup from a grandmother or two before a nice brisk night ride in an old beat down family car.
Ghost is honestly THE best driving music in existence. Listening to their "If You Have Ghost" EP while cruising at night is honestly a memory you'll cherish forever. I know I do. This band is bringing a sort of fun back into rock that we haven't seen in a long time, and on top of that they have a pretty cool gimmick to help spread the word. This band is absolutely fantastic.
Thrusty McPants I'm actually surprised my comments last night managed to touch anyone at all on a personal level. XD I ah... Drunk youtube a few times too often.
RandomEpicHunter XD I had to laugh the one day I added them to pandora and a normal single I'd heard before was playing and I got into the shower and couldn't really hear my phone and when I came out I came out to this chorus of "Beelzebub!" and had to rush to turn it off before my family started to think that I eat babies. XD
@@anniee7226 because ghost represents many occult ideas and the leader of the group is involved in secret societies, so there is plenty to regret being a fan of this band.
I heard Ghost for the very first time on September 17 at Revolution Rock festival. They were next to last to perform. After standing for 10 hours, I was actually on my way out, when this song came on. It stopped me in my tracks. I stayed for their whole set. I could not believe I'd never heard of this band before. Get this, I subscribe to three music magazines and get a ton of music related mailings in my inbox, and the name Ghost had never come up. There is something wrong with the way music is covered in the press. Some bands are in every issue and others are overlooked. E.g., I googled Kerrang and All Time Low, and multiple covers came up, plus there was a mention of All Time Low in almost every issue. Then I googled Kerrang and Ghost, and a tiny picture of Papa came up on a busy cover of a 2015 Christmas issue. Seriously? How about some balance? Sure, All Time Low is a good band, but I want to hear about Ghost as well, and how many other good bands are getting no press? So glad I didn't leave that festival before Ghost. Now I'm going to see them again in November, and I have all of their songs on my playlist, and I've listened to most of the music from those other three bands they're rumored to have a connection with, and I've ordered their merch, and I'm going as Papa for Halloween, and I'm just so darn glad I've discovered them. For me, it's the best band in years.
You were there? :D I was there in the white Papa Emeritus costume. Were you one of the many who got a pic with me?? I'm glad you stayed. I saw Ghost three years ago (July 2013) in Hartford at the Webster when they were under Papa 2. However, I instantly became a fan in Feb of that year when they premiered the video for Secular Haze. I will say their show at Revolution Rock Fest wasn't as good as it could've been. It was way too short, and Papa didn't appear in his robes. Either way, you can't complain about Ghost. :D
Your costume was fabulous. I wish the merch tent had stayed open longer. By the time I discovered Ghost and wanted their t-shirt, the merch tent had closed. Based on my research, all the Papas seem to be the same guy.
Abby Asmus Papa 3 is supposed to be closer to the demon from the Exorcist than skull face paint like Papa 1 and 2. In addition to this, the first promotional poster for Papa 3 was inspired by the theatrical poster for the Exorcist of the priest standing outside the house. The priest was of course replaced with a silhouette of Papa.
I felt the same as you Galina,...the first time I heard the song Cirice. It was a song I just fell in love with,...and I also did not believe I had never heard of this band. Now they are my favorite!!!! I am never disappointed by any of their songs!!
Excellent work! Thank you for this amazing song. I think this is my favorite video you've ever done aside from Secular Haze. The EP is wonderful and Square Hammer is my favorite song on it.
Beau Long I think I would not be able to do it justice, there is no point to after they have already released this masterpiece haha. Perhaps I will do one for another song that won't have an official video :)
I understand, they did a phenomenal job with this video. But you should give yourself more credit your work is excellent. I really enjoy your videos I would like to see you do a video of "Ritual" if you haven't already. Keep up the outstanding work. c:
Great song! Actually it is my favorite song! I heard my dad play this song on tv and I asked him what band it was and he told me it was Ghost! Hear that Papa 3 and Papa 4!? I play the drums and when I get back to America from Europe (I’m on vacation) I’ll try it on my drum kit in my room!
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! For Art Deco Lovers Everywhere! And unsurpassable when heard live in concert (which I've had the privilege of hearing twice!)
such a good song. i love how they've embraced the pop genre without compromising their sound and disappointing their fans. hard for a metal band to do that.
I have heard this song hundreds of times, bought the album the day it released from an old home town Hastings and for some reason today was the first time I understood the lyrics...Thank you guys for helping me through so much! Rest in piece to the fallen, I wish you all well.
Oh my god. The ending has credits. This is a dream come true. To have a small frame around the video and for credits to appear at the end. Just like an old horror film.
I am old. I finally listened to what my daughter said. I am now a member of the church. Thank you Ghost, for bringing music back into my ancient world.
Dude I'm crying 😭 watching all the comments of the new fans makes me teary idc if is for TikTok or whatever I'm just glad Tobias Project is been appreciated by a lot of people I remember when I was in highschool and has absolute no one to talk about Ghost 💔 haha is like a motherly bproud feeling they deserves all the support and love and hope everyone stay for a long time... And welcome Ghesties ;)
you know I see a lot of people debating what this bands music genre is, and though I believe it's just metal, good old rock n roll I absolutely love the idea of them being scooby-doom metal.
I can't wait to see them live. I've been loving the reactions of the crowd to their music, singing along - 'you caaaaaallll oooooon me....' So cute. That's the kind of thing that can never be duplicated and is so much fun, especially after being cooped up for so long during the pandemic!
I'm a huge Metallica fan (obviously my username), but after seeing Ghost yesterday live @Louder Than Life, I can say this song got to me way more than either of Metallica's two new singles. And this video is much better too.
This song is incredible. Perfect on so many levels and the video just elevates it to a whole new place. Listening to the new EP right now and can't wait to see what comes next!
All hail the new masters of metal/hard rock, fucking GHOST!!!!! This is the catchiest rock/metal tune I've heard in a decade. These guys are a creative tidal wave musically. Heads and shoulders above any band playing currently. Period. I love this band!!!!!
I've just discovered the band. Being a 70's hard rock fan and disliking a vast majority of the stuff I hear on the radio these days, this sound so fresh. When I heard their style I tought they were from before 2000 but I was wrong. They started in 2006. I'm so glad rock is still alive. Can't beleive I haven't heard of them before.
when it's about music, I am not that dude who knows much other bands songs - but, more or less ranodmly selected this vid of this unkown band (to me) . And yes!? It is absolutely awesome ! I'm curious about them - wanna get more
You have officially been exposed to the sensation that is "Ghost", a fast rising star in the Metal scene due to their eccentric imagery, lyrics, and unconventional retro metal sound. They formed in 2008 in Linkoping, Sweden, of which the band is a six-piece band. It is comprised of a Satanic pope-like lead singer named Papa Emeritus (they're on the third version of the character, of which they change the version every album cycle. Each version has a different personality than the others, although they all fall into the same "stoic and solid leader" type.), and five other members that dress in identical costumes. These five other members are referred to as "The Nameless Ghouls". The band members remain officially anonymous (although plenty of people know who the lead singer actually is). Ghost has three albums out, the first having been released in 2010 [Opus Eponymous], followed by 2013 [Infestissumam] and 2015 [Meliora]. They also have two EP albums, the most recent of which was just released this past Friday (9/16) which features this song. *"If you have Ghost" (2014) *"Popestar" (2016) Ghost is one of those bands that people fight over if they're metal or not. I think they're 100% metal due to their lyrical content and imagery, but plenty of people disagree with me on this. They won the Grammy this year for Best Metal Performance for their song "Cirice", beating out long-time running bands like Slipknot and Sevendust. They are the only Swedish band in history to win a Grammy award. Even ABBA, who are a major inspiration for Ghost due to them being the first Swedish band to go international, never achieved this. So since you've been exposed to this greatness, prepare to have your soul consumed by the music, and sucked into oblivion. Their LIVE shows are amazing too. They're currently on tour in the US. DEFINITELY try to see them if you can.
thanks for your unexpected long and detailed interesting answer K.Revenge ! Very interesting to know what their program seems to be and it actually is what I already commented the same way on another Vid. -- that they are as awesome just because of their what I called "unconventional" kind of making music comparable to former sounds that I feared to be forgotten in the ongoing trend. It is not the case I don't like different genres.... but this music is what I call "handmade" and true in quality and tone connected to a great overall band concept. But it may be that it's on the other hand just the perspective influenced by my dad who played for around 40 years bass guitar in several band... And PinkFloyd, Eagles, FleetwoodMac, LedZeppelin, Nirvana, FooFighters, Rammstein, InFlames, ArchEnemy, ..just to mention a few I (mostly) prefer.... BUT I dont care about the discussion what the genre specifically seems to be....... the boundaries are often blurred and thats good.... 'cause If it weren't like that we definitely had some big problems to become creative. Nevertheless, I agree in the idea that music can be classified into coarse directions. AND ! (btw) I saw this award...... ^^ ....just embarrassing....so not Ghost....but that audience.. I thought that the latter would be just a problem here in germany...but on the other hand somehow funny the way they enter the hall and everybody looks at them as if they just have seen a ghost ! muhhahahahahaaaa.....
I agree. They are honestly a fresh band because they put a modern twist on older style music. Their first album is 100% metal, sounding like early day Black Sabbath, but their more recent stuff is more pop musicy. Hence the title of their newest EP, a pun on the term "Popstar", "Popestar". Their officially classified as Doom Metal and their first album really did sound that way for the most part, but their sound has changed to be more upbeat than their original stuff. This causes the fights between people on if they're actually metal or not. I personally don't care. I just like the music and imagery. Papa 1 was really old, mysterious, and didn't have much of a personality, while Papa 2 was noticeably younger and more vicarious. He loved the ladies, but was "fired" for not being able to do his job. Papa 3 (the current one) is Papa 2's younger brother (by 3 months), and is more polite and laid back than his older brother. Keep in mind, that all Papa's are actually the same singer, just changing costumes and versions of the character with each album cycle. All Papas have had two different official variants of costumes. Papa 1 originally dressed in black Robes, but transitioned to white toward the later part of his reign. Papa 2 had his robed version, and had a "street" version, where he wore no make-up at all (mind you, the singer still was in a costume). Papa 3 has his robed version and a suited version. These are the two versions that you see in this video. The Ghouls have changed their costumes with each era of the Papas as well.
When i first saw Ghost : He looks like these death metalist but i'll try him. And after i liste to this song i was absolutely out. Absolutely different genre than i thought. And i fell in love
+David Enoch Yeah, but it's called "theatrics", bud. All part of the act. Just like all acts like Alice Cooper, King Diamond and Avatar, etc. They wear facepaint too, but that doesn't emphasize anything on black metal lol. Unless if you're talking about Dead, who invented the corpse paint for black metal tradition. That's a different thing ;)
Music is real ear candy. This from someone who loves Styx and remembers when Peter Frampton was the hottest thing going in 1976, the beginning of the exciting years of being a teenager. I would love to hear what some of the 1960's teens think about this tune.
jayes12 60s teen? Why that would be me. And this song - and this band - are just amazing and awesome. This pushes all the right buttons, a song/band like this only come along once in a looong while. Saw them in the spring and outstanding show too.

Exactly. My favorite parts as well
completely agree with you, hahaha is very funny that parts 😂
Just noticed that a ghoul was driving papa
I agree! Its brilliant!

I love the mental confusion they cause, when you see their pictures you think GOSH THEY'RE PROBABLY A HEAVY BLACK METAL BAND. And then you listen to their songs and they're like a 70's rock n' roll with a touch of black sabbath.
*metal confusion
That's how I felt when I first saw Ghost. I was sure I'd hate them. Then I listened to Secular Haze and I loved it. It was the type of music that I love.

Who gives a fuck what genre they are or aren't. They rock hard & know how to write great melodies - that's all that matters \m/
any plans for a song in the style of ghost? :)
That's right.
Damn straight
doom metal more than rock, js
Ghost is amazing :)
I just started listening to Ghost and I’m disappointed in past me for not listening to them. This is just immaculate!
You're not alone.

Oh dude, same here. I'm literally so mad and disappointed i didn't know and listen to them earlier ;-;
Immaculate perfection. Ghost are leaps and bounds the greatest band

Well said! I've never been able to find one that jives just right, and is worthy of zealous devotion, but I think Ghost might be the one!
I never limited myself on just one band, when it comes to genres, man, metal, rock, punk, classical, dNb, pop, you name it. Just listen to music.
There's not a single song out of all their albums that I don't like
If you love those youre missing out on so many classic doom bands like Pentagram for example
I have a sneaking suspicion because they are scorpions meets abba meet meatloaf. Some people can't handle genre mixing. I think they are great.

As with any Ghost song the more I listen to it the more I love it! There is something about this band...
They've done what they set out which was "Ghost is the name of a devil worshipping ministry, that in order to spread its unholy gospels and, furthermore, trick mankind into believing the end is ultimately a good thing, have decided to use the ever so popular rock music medium as a way to achieve their ends."
Nice try Nathan
It's Santa... or Satan... YOU decide!
join the club.
Get a clue. Satan has nothing to do with it. It's all about Michael.
This is about as close to perfect as a rock song can get. Great lyrics, great instrumental work, catchy as Hell hook, perfect length, no wasted seconds
Rock music was great from about 1950 through the mid-90s. Great songs were a dime a dozen. Now, so rare.
If Ghost ever makes a full lenght movie, im definetly gonna watch it.
I want that, I need that
They’re multiple genres
They did didn't they? ruclips.net/video/-0Ao4t_fe0I/видео.html
They should get together with Rob Zombie and make one.

Tobias Forge is a such good actor! I love the way he acts in every Ghost video. Great performer.
El no es el Tobías, sólo se disfrazó un actor
Tobias actually isn't in these videos, he hired an actor to play the roles. Same guy in the Dance Macabre clip that accompanies young Papa N.
@@maxskeltoncomedy He does look a little like Tobias, though. Tobias says he's a better dancer.
@@cmccauley1961 Tobias also said that he did all the dancing in the Rats video and had a body double for the bits where he was standing still.
A.
A breath of fresh air. One of the most inovative and original bands right now
lovin all the fusion out there atm. Twelve Foot Ninja create some interesting stuff as well.
original???? Mercyful Fate?
Listen to zombie queen, this song is much more basic in comparison.
Zachary Meagher Thakd dude
My cat loves this music video. I don't know why, she probably likes something about the motion or the lights, but every time I put it on on my phone when she's in the room she's captivated. She watches the whole video every time pawing at the screen.

I still can't believe why this song was a "bonus track", since it is one of the best Ghost has ever done.
It's not a bonus track it's the first track on their ep Popestar
they are so good that its sidetracks are this gems
Fag
Because the song doesn't fit the theme and sound of Meliora. Therefore they decided to put it on Popestar and Meliore Redux instead.
@@puderkman It absolutely fits in meliora lol
I swear man Ghost always has the catchiest hooks ever. This is a banger 🔥
I think Papa Emeritus, Corey Taylor and Julian Casablancas are the best frontmans in music right now.
Musicianship and showmanship are different things and not at all what I'm talking about
I like the way Papa floats across the floor , haha 1:47

Ghost does such a great job on confusing people. Like at least 70% of the comments are discussions on what music genre the belong to or if they are really satanists. Great job Ghost you exceed at the art of trolling XD
That's what makes this band so much fun.
People who thinks they are satanist are dumb, they need to listen to some Norwegian Black Metal xd
Could be a different type of satanism. Laveyan satanism to be exact.
Satanism doesn't mean human sacrifices and all that shit.
grrizo Yes it could be Laveyan satanism or it could just be mockery to religious groups.

Popestar is superb. Ghost gets better every release.
idk their covers are almost to different and its not as good as i was expecting, this song is great though
"He is" blows Bible out of the water. Don't get me wrong, it's a good cover, but certainly not on the level of their best stuff.
***** Agreed. "I Believe" is awesome.
Missionary Man is the weakest track by far in my view.
we gotta admit that papa emeritus III made the most iconic songs from all the ghost history...
although i thoroughly enjoy almost all of their catalogue, i couldn't agree more.
At least one commenter to the official video for Cirice mentioned that this helped him realize he had dyslexia.

then "Metal" is just so little for Ghost.

You've been exposed to the masterpiece that is Ghost. Prepare to have your soul sucked into oblivion.
and "He is", "Year Zero", "Deus in Absenthia", they are awesome too... ah damn, every song is awefully epic :-)
Popestar features this song.
listen to "guleh/zombie queen" too
I feel like him scuttling out of the theater row is an underrated comedic moment

OMG
Ironically on day 5 my buddy informed me he bought 2 front row sets to the show in 10 days and his other friend already had tickets.. so I'm going to be seeing them in KALAMAZOO at the State Theater OCTOBER 4..Gonna be eppic...
The Beautiful Chords During The Bat Sequence And Harmonic Leads Are Something Else

Oh woman, call me, lets deal with this "problem". You are not alone.
I hope they mix a little reality (concerts, after parties, etc) with lots of fantasy and horror imagery.
So far my favourite song and video. Ive been a metal fan since the 1980s and it all comes together here. Ghost has mastered old video imagery with modern metal music. Epic!
I LOVE 2:32 - 2:36 so much. The transition to the solos is so good

Might be a coincidence but still.
That's exactly what I thought when I first saw it too! I think it's an amazing throwback
I'm sure it's deliberate
Same, maybe a bact to root with the next album !!

This song is great. Even people that would be offended by the idea of swearing before the devil can't escape how catchy that melody is.
I have no regrets what so ever finding this band. Now I'm obsessed!! 😍

@@auto1nfanticid3 why do you say that?

I was there in the white Papa Emeritus costume.
I too want to go as Papa for Halloween! But I want to paint my face as Papa II. His look then is more evil.
Abby Asmus
Papa 3 is supposed to be closer to the demon from the Exorcist than skull face paint like Papa 1 and 2.

And welcome Ghesties ;)
was papa riding a segway for that one scene? we need fan-art of him on a segway playing the Kazoo of destiny.
OMFG
it's like ghost knows that they're making scooby-doom metal
1:48 I think
you know I see a lot of people debating what this bands music genre is, and though I believe it's just metal, good old rock n roll I absolutely love the idea of them being scooby-doom metal.
+Elizabeth Mataya I've been listening to this song on a loop for 2 or 3 weeks now and I'm starting to do the same with their cover of Nocturnal Me.
This song is way too much fun to listen to.
I can't wait to see them live. I've been loving the reactions of the crowd to their music, singing along - 'you caaaaaallll oooooon me....' So cute. That's the kind of thing that can never be duplicated and is so much fun, especially after being cooped up for so long during the pandemic!
Best ghost song for me, it's brilliant
my choir teacher showed me these guys i mostly listen to stuff like metallica i cant wait for hardwired \M/
i just like the sound sounds like refined kill 'em all
I'm a huge Metallica fan (obviously my username), but after seeing Ghost yesterday live @Louder Than Life, I can say this song got to me way more than either of Metallica's two new singles. And this video is much better too.
just fantastic songwriting
Well it's not as if doing better than metallica was an impressive feat or anything...
criminally underrated!! can see it in the views
I'm in love with heavy metal music, finally I found Ghost fews years ago... I'm enjoying my life🤩🤩🤩
I love pop, alternative, 80s pop/rock, swing, lofi.. but something about Ghost I just really love!
I can't stop listening to this song, omg it's perfect.
when it's about music, I am not that dude who knows much other bands songs - but, more or less ranodmly selected this vid of this unkown band (to me) .
*"If you have Ghost" (2014)
*"Popestar" (2016)
Ghost is one of those bands that people fight over if they're metal or not.
+Rezavej Kocourek Funny how they got me into metal. They are the reason why I'm a black metalist too lol
The black and white face paint look is actually a black metal thing.
That's a different thing ;)
masood rizvi I was pointing out that the guy probably meant black metal, not death metal
+David Enoch Oh okay lol. It's all good, then ;)
Ann's voice is a miracle and beautiful
Their music save me from panic attacks. A lot.
I like how Papa is just "Nope--fuck this, I'm out."
Awesome song, and great advice for working with the Goetia
The Cardinal on the grave is a foreshadowing of the future.
