Blackpool will always be a magical place, especially for young families. the pleasure beach is a magical kingdom, all of its own, Love this mid 60 film.🥰🥰
You can't beat this 60's film, of a very special place of magical properties, for all us youngsters and our folks, who had the adventurous spirit, to delve into its wonderment.
Ive lived in Australia since 1968, but remember trips to Blackpool Pleasure Beach fondly, and this excellent bit of film brought back some great memories!! Thank you Dawny TV
my girlfriend and I went to Blackpool early last year for a weekend, but the weather was awful and we almost got blown away on the prom with our umbrella that constantly got blown inside out and my poor girlfriend struggling to hold her skirt down LOL
@@juliepownall1063 LOL yes it certainly can get very blowy there, my girlfriend had about five umbrellas wrecked there in past visits and god knows how many hats she had blown away. Blackpool must make a fortune selling umbrellas, we seen so many getting wrecked LOL
Sadly, like most things, the Pleasure Beach has lost its way. Charging to enter was the biggest mistake they ever made. Corporate greed ruins everything.
It's funny what you can glean from a username! I'm assuming, like myself, that you're a leather and rubber enthusiast? I once went on the Pleasure Beach wearing a black rubber t-shirt!

The old fun house was the best, spend a whole day in there. Most things in there wouldn't be allowed in today's world, too much health and safety requirements. It was all very American themed back then at BPB
@@garyography Just wish the Fun House was still here today, was my favourite place in Blackpool, couldn't wait to take my shoes off and spend all day there in my grey stockingfeet. Remember the giant slide, record player, Tin pan alley, firemans pole, rope ladder and many other things.

Not a druggie, chav or Bhurka in sight. Happier days 😁😁😁

yea
Lovely,,film..but,why,not,tone,it,in,with,music,of,the,time,1965
Didn't know the miniature on laughthing clowns knee ever moved i only remember him being static
I thought that!! And now you have to insert 20p for him to laugh. Also didn’t realise how bright his outfit was
As a child I hated that clown , and that terrifying Humpty Dumpty........
Wow, this is the first footage I have ever soon of the original Wild Mouse (before the top layer was added). Thanks for posting!
The best attraction at that time ? The Fun House, of course. Every Health & Safety officer's nightmare !!
fantastic video, thanks for posting.
Bring back The Reel!
Love this video, many memories!
RIP wild mouse
yay Leo the Lion. look at him back then!!
I wish there were some photos/clips of the old dark rides such as the Ghost train or Alice :(
At least they're both still operating🙂
I would love to see a picture of the fairy grotto dark ride that was later moved and renamed magic moun
I WAS 12 Y.O. IN 1965 AND NOW SO SAD THAT A LOT OF RIDES HAVE GONE
Sad? There are more rides than ever!

@@leathandrubb My bad! I do apologise!
@@bingola45 They're mostly all white knuckle rides now. For instance, does Blackpool really need 10 rollercoasters? There was more variety back then.
RIP 🐭😩
A lot of the things shown here are still the same today! The sweetie house, the wild mouse, that laughin clown etc. All still there.
Music sounds like a Pink Floyd MIDI track
The Fun House burned down in 1991 but nothing took it's place until 2000 when Valhalla was built.
Nothing major took its place, but between the Fun House and Valhalla (which started construction in 1998), there was a maze and the Tidal Wave ride.

Never knew those fibre glass animals used to circle Noah's Ark ...
