I like the humbleness, drywashing has a learning curve, and is the best method of gold recovery in Arizona. If anyone says otherwise, dont listen to them. I have dry washed pounds of gold here in AZ...
Also, It is not necessary to screen down so much or at all. There is a screen on top of the hopper, that`s what it is for. The material does not have to be re run so many times. Once it is flowing over those riffles, the gold will drop out fast. Remember how heavy it is. I know that wash well, there is big gold there, and that`s just all the more reason not to screen down.
Dont let that guy talk smack about that drywasher, its a nice one! I will say though, if you and your girl want to run more material, get a Keene 140. Do not let someone talk you into any other brand. Stick with Keene.
Wishing you all the best out there.

For the air bubbles on initial run of the mats; you know those BBQ sauce brushes with the soft rubber bristles that seem like they would suck for BBQ sauce... yeah those work real well to prep the mats while you first run water.

nice video. puffers are better for the fine gold then the blowers. and not as obnoxiously loud. the Thompson is a nice machine.

Utah mason I thought that exact same thing and said it to a few people and an old guy said nonsense and that I was young and didn’t know shit and I shouldn’t speak. So then I said then show me.
He showed me a setup on my 140S that ended up holding down to -200.... while most was -150 it did have quite a bit of -200. Blew my mind... he yeah it’s slow but not as slow as the other small wooden puffer I was using. It was weird to set the gates and just walk away and let it work.
After I learned it I have been hitting all the old mill sites in my area and it’s been the highest recovery.
And with two pass reduction on the multi I am done in a single afternoon.
But I do agree with you... for most people that want to capture fines just stick with the Thompson or Whippet, which the Whippet is super good for quick and multiple sampling locations.
But it is possible to run a blower and capture down to beach style fines.

If the top hopper had magnets to grab the black sand before it got to the riffles. I bet it would allow the gold to drop better without all the heavies taking up space and air pressure....i wouldnt know just an idea i never dry washed. I thought of buying one for the summer. But so much moisture in norcal. Id need a propain torch or a firepit with sheet metal to evapurate the h20 in the soil.. Hows the thompson doesnt loose to much??? Herd u can make them solar powered...😎 video. Doe.

Hi Zion Gray. We would be interested in seeing if magnets would be effective, great idea. The Thompson drywasher did very well capturing fine gold. Woth the puffers they seem to work better at that then the ones powered by machines for air like the Keene 151. However, you can't process as much as quickly but none the less a great drywasher especially for a single man operation. The solar power for it would be awesome and a lot easier to pack out then carry a bulky battery. Great comments!

Hello there! Just wondering your dry washer is the explorer model from Royal mfg. Video is lil old just wanted to know if you still like it and how it has held up? Good luck this summer finding the shiney stuff!

Thanks for checking out our first drywashing video. It's actually a thompsons drywasher. First we had the handcrank then purchased the kit to run with a battery. Its a great machine, compact and catches fine gold. You arent going to move a ton of material but if you are a one man show it will serve you well. We still have ours!!!

Hi, Seems like the lower riffles were a little high in tilt. Did you notice that after watching the video? Or is that about right? I'm in the market for a drywasher and looking at Thompsons.

Some what a pain in the azz but a small recirculating sluice set up may do ya better then damp dry washing. Add a Vibrator to your Pooof Pooof. Sure helps.
