A continuing series of videos where I do a review of every Elvis Presley Album released from 1956-1977 in chronological order. Reconsider Baby is probably my favorite track.
Love the whole album and the singles. I especially like Reconsider Baby (sorry Ed), and Such A Night.
Such A Night should have been released as a single. It would've been a number 1 along with the other great #1's of 1960.

great album. the Steve Hoffman remaster is excellent due to tracking down the original 1st master tapes in the 90s.
Elvis said this was his favorite album, and that his voice was the best on this album, easily one of his best albums.

Yes you’re right that is Charlie Hodge on I Will Be Home Again.
And it’s amazing that Such A Night is your favorite as it’s mine too! First heard it growing up on Legendary Performer Vol. 2.
This was also the first album that featured Hank Garland, Buddy Harman , Bob Moore, Floyd Cramer and Boots Randolph in addition to Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana.
A solid album in my opinion. I love it!

Reconsider Baby is undoubtedly the best track on the album and one of Elvis Presley‘s finest recordings, ever !!!
From Elvis’ opening notes on the acoustic guitar to Boots Randolphs kick ass sax solo and DJ’s pounding drums, perfection.

Love this series of videos Ed but for me this album is a GRAND SLAM!!! Every track just blows me away and can never get enough of it. This was one of the first albums I got as a young Elvis fan and had to get a second copy as I literally wore out the grooves!!! Thank heaven CD's came along and I could play it over and over!!! Personal favourite is Girl Of My Best Friend, just a super song and performance by Elvis.

A Very nice review on one of my all time favorite Elvis Classic Albums. For me the only "weak" Song on this beauty is "Thrill of Your Love"...all the other Songs are Top Notch👍

Hey Ed! I was surprised you don't like reconsider baby, and you like, like a Baby? They're basically the same 2 songs in theory that is a slow blues in E. I think it's a great album, but it's weakness is that we have 2 slow blues songs at the end in the same key. If it were up to me then they should have left off like a Baby to be replaced with a Mess of Blues. I never skip a song of the album tho, to me all songs are fantastic, one more than the other of course! This is my favorite Elvis album of all time, even before From Elvis in Memphis.
The album is magnificent on the whole. My least favorite on it is Fever. Slow and ponderous and what I consider a woman's song ie Peggy Lee of course. Make Me Know It is my favorite. Love that song. Coming in second is the brilliant Such A Night which is perhaps his best vocal performance on an album that is vocal perfection. This was probably the King at his very peak. 👑

Reconsider Baby has always been one of my favorites, together with It Feels so Right and Like a Baby... they go together, in a way... three "bluesy" songs in a row... Thrill of Your Love is a very good performance, nice song, but has never been a favorite... but we cannot all agree on everything.... taste is what it is... 😁

Top 5 for me 💪💪💪 imagine if Stuck on you, Fame and Fortune, It's now or never and Are you lonesome tonight, was on this album. Number 1 for sure 💪💪💪
It's now or never and Are you lonesome tonight are great songs, but wouldn't fit on the album i.e. the songs are too different from the other songs on the album. And it was released in a time when singles didn't get a release on an album in most cases.
Every one of the songs Ed I guess you could shoot me even though I wasn't born back in the '50s . I was in the '60s so I love them every song I was ever made I don't think there's a song of his I didn't like so I love them all and ask for your concerts that you're putting together I love them I absolutely love them you take care and God bless

I’m with you on most of this one Ed, overall I think it’s an overrated album and could of used the Stuck on You /F&F single songs on it, some of the songs sound very dated, Soldier Boy, Dirty D Feeling, yuck! Overall this album is a C for me , TCB Ed ⚡️
Can't believe Stuck on you and fame and fortune wasn't on this album big mistake i would of had both on it ...overall it's a pretty good album being the first back from the Army
RCA and Parker didn’t like putting singles on the regular albums. They thought that it would kill the sales for the “45” singles. Very short sighted as this album with those two songs would fit perfectly.
Question for you big Ed- - wasn’t this the first album that Elvis recorded in true stereo, as opposed to the “electronically enhanced “ albums previously released?

Tough to answer as all new/recent pressings are expensive. I would say second hand pressings from 57-77 is the way to go as they may be cheaper than original pressings. Am I correct? Who knows?

I like every song on the The Elvis is back LP.. Every song is strong on there for me. They are all great songs. I just got The FTD 3 CD set Elvis Aloha from Hawaii box set. The sound is excellent on all 3 cds, but I prefer the Rehearsal cd mix from 2013. For me that is the better sounding cd. But what do I know right?

I just got it today the 3 cd and I love it. You have to get it Ed. Great booklet I side too. A must have for all Elvis fans. Also I got the FTD 5 CD set Potluck and the sound quality is incredible. A must own for all Elvis fans.
Hi - I am doing some research for a book which mentions Sam Bobrick, who co-wrote The Girl of my Best Friend with Beverly Ross. I noticed that it charted in the uk at number 9 on the billboard charts. Do you know if it was ever released by Elvis in America? The chart position looks blank, so I assume not (I realise a cover was later released by Ral Donner). Would be interesting to know why it was only released in the uk as a single. Very grateful if you know the answer, much appreciated

I don't care for ' Fever '. It has nothing to do with his performance . it's the song itself . Even Peggy Lee's smash hit version leaves me cold , and not the least bit ' Fever'ish. Terrible pun .... That said, I would prefer Elvis singing 'Fever ' than Peggy Lee trying to ' rock ' her way through ' Hound Dog '.
