This isn't much of a challenge for Gane. Tai wouldn't even beat a Volkov. He matched up perfect with Lewis, but all the other top guys can mix it up and aren't just brawlers. Give him a fighter that can wrestle or high level striking like Gane, JDS, and Volkov, he will lose. We saw what an out of prime JDS did to him.

I really think Ciryl Gane needed that bad match against Francis. I watched the Full Reptile vid that covered Gane leading up to this fight and I think some forget just how NEW Ciryl Gane is to MMA. Someone said Benoit Saint-Denis v Gabriel Miranda should be a great one to watch if you're into grappling because both have all wins by finish and the almost all of those finishes are by submission. Should be an intriguing one.

Go rewatch the fights with Hermansson and Costa, he put on a good striking showing in both. He is getting better, has good defense and nice boxing from close range, his only big weakness is that he doesn't have much power because his technique for that is not on point, he throws with his arms and that's good for points but bad to ko.

If Gane gets to comfortable fighting in his home country, he could make a mistake and get flatlined... but Gane is so smart and technical, so that probably won't happen. But you just never know. Super intriguing match-up. Solid card, should be a fun night.
