A healthy body is necessary for awakening. Because awakening can only happen when we can go beyond physical awareness. If body is in pain, or hunger, or if the body is intoxicated then transcending it becomes almost impossible. Isn't it? Saying "I am not the body" becomes 100x harder when you are in pain. So a healthy body is necessary to transcend it. A healthy body = A body that won't disturb you.
