He's mainly setting groups for buildings and things a bit out of the field of view. I've started to do the same. Say you make like 10 stables instead of making a "select all stable hotkey" just set them as a group. Same with large army control groups if theyre two very different armys melee and archer and so on. A must is a quick click for idle vils, your TC and construction of buildings. I think the stock version is pretty easy to learn. Q and qweasd for eco and w qweasd for military buildings is pretty easy to memorize.
