I saw one video where the lady ripped the top of the lateral 2X8s on a table saw at an angle to make it flush with the X 2X6 when the buck was opened up. I think she used 2X6s or 2-2X4s to save a buck (no pun intended).
I do not have a garage to work in but I’m super excited that you put together an exceptional video on a thought that’s was well needed thanks a ton ! For a great how to video Joe
Wow this is easy anybody can do this l,m signed up for adventure mighty fine Sir thanks for sharing your project with us keep them coming ya got my vote ❎ ya dont need to be rocket Sciencest to make this Happin so from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later 😊
That's awesome. If you buy the lumber this morning, you can probably build it in time to use later this afternoon. I'm thinking of adding a couple accessories to it, but still in the thinking stage.
1. I suggest the horizontal board on the far side from the operator should be 50mm lower. I can see you've already nicked it with the saw. 2. I've fitted a sloping board to the far side of my saw horse, to allow the cut logs to roll away into a pile. It works a treat. Always room for improvement! Greetings from north Wales, UK.
I was taken aback you never made a sawbuck before Mark? Awesome first attempt! Good thing you have that nifty little wagon to carry it! I’ve never made a large sawbuck like that one, but kept it between two - three uprights. I space them roughly for 16 inch bucks. I couldn’t imagine bucking up logs without one. I saw the ends of the uprights getting in the way of your saw, so you might want to trim them off? That Echo was running Smooooooth. Which model was that, Timberwolf maybe? I need to get another saw, and am considering Echo, Stihl, or ‘DolKita ‘ ( Makita/ Dolmar)? Looks Chillily out your way. I bet you looking forward to Spring! Take care friend, and stay Safe and Healthy! 👍👍👍👍✌🏻😁🇺🇸🔨
Hey, what's up George! When I was a teen, my dad bought an enormous semi load of logs, so everything was big and heavy. We never had limbs to worry about. When I got my own place, I used the Wood Dock Log Holder in place of a sawbuck. I still use it, but I'm really liking this sawbuck. There's no measuring and the limbs lock in place rather well. Also, I highly recommend that Gorilla dump wagon. It's awesome! Take care!
@@MarkThomasBuilder Thanks for the reply Mark! Well that makes sense, and I merely commented as I’ve seen your other videos, and know you’re a ‘seasoned’ chainsaw user. 😉 I cant remember if I saw one where you had the Wood Dock in it? So, you recommend that Echo? I’ll have to look into that wagon! Take care!
The Wood Dock video was several years ago, when I first started on RUclips. They're not well known, but work well and hook on a bumper hitch if needed. I like the ECHO CS501P, it has a decompression valve for easier starting. It runs well using 90 octane Rec fuel and ECHO Red Armor oil.
Thanks, man! My favorite Snow Joe item is the cordless shovel. It clears the deck in no time. Right now, I don't want to see any more snow until next December. 🤣
What do you think about the design of the sawbuck? Would you make any changes or upgrades?

Excellent - food for thought. Going to use the fundamentals but on a smaller scale. Thanks.
I've been very happy with this setup. I'd make it again if I had to replace it.

Thanks Joe, glad you liked it. I'm working on a shorts video today that is a follow-up and will tell some of the dimensions.
Nice project! Look forward to hearing more about the jigsaw.
I took your advice and switched blades until it cut straight. The 3rd one was a charm👊
Wonderful job. length of legs and distance to holes?

Great design i like it. Got to have a good woodhorse
I don't know how I ever got along without it.

I like those ideas, thanks for sharing, even all the way from the UK! 🙌

nice project, what is the spacing?
Thanks, that's a good question. I have it spaced for 18" firewood. That size seems to work well in my wood stove.
Firewood should be bucked to 16-18 inches, typically.
Great Idea 🪚🪚
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video mark ✌️
Thanks, Tom glad to hear it! I'm happy with the way this turned out.
Cool idea
Thanks, I look forward to showing this in some upcoming chainsaw videos.
very clever!
Thanks, man! I'm excited how well it turned out.👊
Great video.
Thanks Larry. 🙌
You should make a video of all of your echo stuff
That would be interesting. I could show how each one starts up.
Looks good 👍 what I really want to know is how is the Snow Joe working out for you?
