    How much space did you get with the headers and the steering rod?
    i can see from the video that you didnt check it but if the rubber was hitting the header you should smell it ;)
    Kooks and also Stainless Power seems to be the only brands that have clearance all over.
    i installed my Stainless Power headers 2 days ago with no issues.

    How long did it take you guys to finish? Would I need two people to do this job?🤔

    • @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro
      @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro  3 года назад +2

      I’d highly recommend 2 people, it took all day with my buddy and part of the next day to button everything up. Hard part that you’d need 2 people is bolting on the new headers (one underneath holding them and one on top to align it and bolt it in) and reinstalling the dipstick tube.

      @the85darkknight 3 года назад +1

      I am hoping it can be done in a day with two people. I don’t recall you bolting on the high flow cats. Did you get those? What is your tool list? What are the pros and cons of doing the job yourself after having finished yourself? How do the locking nuts work?

    • @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro
      @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro  3 года назад

      @@the85darkknight the high flow cats were very easy to attach, I think it had a clamp to attach them, it’s hard to remember though. Tools were just various wrenches and screw drivers. No special tools or anything. The pros and cons of doing it yourself, it saves a lot of money and it’s a lot more satisfaction actually working on it and completing it. But it’s going to be frustrating so be prepared to take your time with it and be patient. And the locking nuts, they are just pieces that you snap on after that will keep the nut from loosening. Their very simple.

    How long did it take? I've had mine in the box for months I was going to have a shop install them it's $800 for install and tune, headers only cost $360 shipped. Debating on doing it myself. Seems like a few hours of work with a few people. Could save me $400.

    • @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro
      @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro  5 лет назад +2

      Chris Ennis it took me and my friend 1 full Saturday and the first part of a Sunday, and we’re not professional mechanics at all, but we were able to pull it off. Hardest parts were getting the old headers off with the limited space under the car since we only had jack stands, and getting the oil dip stick back in the motor. That’s why I included the location to get the dip stick back to its home in the video lol and make sure when you put the anti seize on the O2 sensors, do not get that stuff on the sensor part itself, I had to replace my O2 sensors ($200) because it ruined them, even after trying to clean them it still gave me a check engine light for “delayed response”. If you run into any problems if you install them yourself, let me know and I’ll do my best to help

    • @Ennis09
      @Ennis09 5 лет назад +1

      WhiteTigerSS Thanks for the response! I’ve heard most take a few hours, my buddy said his took 3 hours. Only because he couldn’t find the dipstick part. My stepdad and I have replaced many motors and etc, so I’m hoping it’ll be a walk in the park.ill be doing it on jack stands too!

    • @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro
      @WhiteTigerSS_Camaro  5 лет назад

      Chris Ennis it is simple when you look at the big picture, if you’ve changed engines than you’ll be fine. I referenced the dipstick part the best I possibly could so hopefully it helps you guys out

      Ichiraku Ramen honestly when we finished the job we were wondering why you needed to take them out, so yeah I think you can manage without removing the spark plugs. Dave Lombardo it’s hard to say how much louder it made it, like it was a little louder but it mainly changed the sound. It gave it more of a crispy higher pitch exhaust, but in a good way. Dominique King for me, yes it did come on when I installed my headers. I’m still trying to get the check engine light gone. Code readers told me my O2 Sensors were bad but I replaced them and reset the codes about 1000 miles ago and it still came back shortly after and stayed on, so I’ll have to take it back to the shop to have it diagnosed to see why it’s still giving me the light. It will cause a light if you don’t get a tune but it shouldn’t stay on after getting tuned, I don’t know why mines still on.
