【Alishan Forest Railway】Fuel Tanker Train Departed from Alishan Station

This fuel tank wagon has an origin. It was transformed from an early log flat wagon. It has stayed at the Alishan loco shed as a backup fuel tank for many years. Due to the recent maintenance of the fuel tank at the Chiayi loco shed, the fuel tank wagon from Alishan loco shed was urgently requisitioned and moved to Chiayi loco shed by dead running. This fuel tank wagon is usually only parked in the shed, so it is quite rare to see it running on the main line.

I don't think we have seen that vehicle before.
Did they used to fill it up from road tankers.
Much better to rotate with full rail tankers, but then the 2' 6" line doesn't go to a refinery, so would still need some transhipment or a transporter truck or dual gauge vehicle maybe.

Thanks for watching. This fuel tanker was often parked in the shed as a backup fuel tank. Carrying fuel is always by truck. This way is more convenient.
