I have never seen a youtuber trying so hard to think of more content for a video instead of having it short in multiple videos for more views. RUclips should really give you a medal for best contents of the year. Keep doing it!

@@thomascharbonneau1661 there are reasons to see it both ways but @Ramon Rodgers is viewing it from a positive light. His point is that the colorful and visual correction Jeff made may lead to a better understanding of the concept. This is for two reasons:
Firstly, Ramon now knows there is a difference between the terms secondary dominant and subdominant, which are two similar-sounding phrases with distinctly different meanings. He hadn't discussed what a subdominant was yet, but the blatant correction warns viewers of their own possible mix-up.
Secondly, the use of a red block of text to correct himself is helpful to us because, like when taking notes in a class, color coding important parts makes them easier to remember.

This video was awesome! I've never been classically trained, so everything I know about playing piano was figured out through years of experimentation. I already knew a lot of what was in this video, but now it's being given a NAME, a DEFINITION, a STRUCTURE. It's really giving me the flexibility to take ideas I was already familiar with and apply them in new and interesting ways.

I have to say that this video was the catalyst for a whole deep dive into music theory that I have been putting off for, idk, like over a decade? I think this is the 4th time I've watched it and now I can watch the whole thing and I understand everything you're talking about and have used all of your tips to write my own songs. I'm having more fun than I ever have writing music, but it took me probably a year to get there because I had to start from the basics, jumping all over the place to deconstruct everything you're talking about. Now it seems so simple, but I still have a lot t learn!! Thank you very much for your content!!!

I followed fairly well for the first 3 or 4 minutes and as things went on slowly but surely faded into oblivion. But as you said, it's on RUclips so I will come back and try to get through the next two or three minutes etc until i become a musical virtuoso in about 240 years. One thing I would like to ask is if you can write the chord names above all the stuff you play. As a guitarist whose piano lessons lie back more than 10 years it can be quite time consuming to figure out what you're playing exactly :P
