    The final crew meeting with the discussion about the difficult guests and the tipping issue, is very enlightening.
    Not only does it show how much Captain Paul (still needs an eye patch and a stuffed parrot on his shoulder) has his crew's back. It shows the boat owner is just as good a person! No way do they leave that stuff in the final cut WITHOUT permission from the boss. I bet the owner had just as much difficulty with those guests as the crew did, and he/she wanted to call them out on their B.S.
    Tipping is such a polarizing topic in today's world, and while I won't go into my personal opinion on the topic, I will say that I'm sure those guests treat everyone they encounter the same way.
    Hopefully, they won't be back on the ship, or if they do - it'll be more like an apology tour than a holiday.

    OK, any charter guests who can afford this kind of experience and still manage to be challenging/difficult and leave a lousy tip deserve to have their names revealed (I know you can't do that)... period! If their behavior were made public, other charters may be saved from the same experience. These kind of people have never been told "NO" and have a sense of entitlement that is nauseating. WOW, It sucks you all had a bad charter, Just shows you that no mater how much money a person has, there are some that are just asshats. Props to you Capt for throwing your lot in with the crew. Enjoy the time off.

      Really enjoyed this episode as I do this channel in particular however, it did raise a small issue that has always rankled with me! I know the US varies in many things from Europe, not more so than when it comes to leaving a tip!
      When and why did it become expected on Super Yachts that a tip will/should be given. I have always believed that tips and/or work bonuses are for efforts above and beyond the call of duty. Surely when a group are paying hundreds and thousands of dollars per charter on a super yacht, excellent service and facilities trips/toys etc. should be what they are paying for, not seen as a bonus. I am not saying it is necessarily wrong to give/receive/expect a tip but what extra do the crew do to warrant an additional 15-20%, which is seemingly what is expected? Some Cruise companies actually charge the ‘Tip’ when you book which seems very strange to me, it is a way of subsidising low wages!
      I don’t want to be controversial but I really struggle to understand the rationale and expectation!

    Was actually really surprised you guys left in the comments about the difficult guests, would be intersting to know more about this...Also Sean's face on the tip was awesome.

    The real world talk makes these videos so much better. It would have been easy to gloss over a challenging guest situation, but that’s not the transparency that makes your channel great!

    I never thought I say it, but I miss sailing more & more each year. My time underway was spent in the Army mostly on Landing Craft & Experimental Vessels & it was work but having not done it in years makes me miss it terribly.

    The one thing i find really good about Loon videos is the good the bad and darn right ugly. And ugly is worth more than 6%
    Good honest work deserves a good honest tip for all of you. Take care nrxt charter will be ace, as usual ace crew, ace guests = ace charter😊

      If you can afford to spend in excess of 600k for a week's holiday you can afford to take care of the crew, some of this lot were not pleasant people by any means.

    We stumbled across your channel and have been enthralled since. Paul you are clearly at the top of your game a wise captain. If I was ever in the position to afford a yacht charter, I would choose Loon because you all seem very professional, yet down to earth and I am sure the guests have an amazing time with you all.
    It was disappointing to hear you had awkward guests, I would be more than happy to be onboard, visiting bays everyday, then messing about on and in the sea.

    • @marvindebot3264
      @marvindebot3264 6 месяцев назад

      This, 100%. Take several charters on different styles of yacht, let the crews know you intend to purchase and ask a lot of questions, a good crew will be happy to answer them. Those charters can save you a lot of both money and heartache. @@panpiper
