1660 Super was truly a value buy for 1080p gaming with a Ryzen 5 3600 before Covid-19 hit.
Real. Either 1660S + 3600, or 5600XT + 3600 for the upper level. Was the best value buys.
How about r5 5600g + 1660super ?

I went for 1660s and 9400f, it was a bit cheaper than 3600 in my country
Pascal architecture was the last and the best gpu for performance/price after 1000 series all gpu become expensive for no reason

Back in the day I went for an 8 core processor with a 1060, instead of a 1070 with a 6 core. I still remember that decision. Mistakes were made friends. Mistakes were made.
I cheaped out on a 1060 6gb instead of ponying up for the 1070 at the time. As you said, mistakes were made lol!

Because you can change your GPU whenever you want... If you want a 3070 you can buy it and install it in your PC. But if you have to change your CPU because it's old, you'll have to change mobo + cpu (+ ram if it's old). So your 8 core CPU wasn't a terrible idea, it will deal with the next 4 year games without any problems, as opposed to a 6 core processor (unless it's a newer 6 core CPU with higher frequencies)
@@Galane Yes but a good Gpu is always more expensive, At least where i live you can buy I5 11400f with Msi mobo and 16 gb ram cheaper than RTX 3070. It is way easier to change gpu physically but not financially wise (at least nowadays)

1000 series still killing it, I have a 3080 in my main rig, but still have my trusty old 1080 in my daughter's computer, still going strong after all these years.
Crazy that a c. 2019 $230 GPU performs within about 10% of a c. 2022 $250 GPU. Sure, the 3050 has more VRAM, DLSS, RT, etc., but still, that's roughly zero FPS/MSRP gain over 3 years.
Especially brutal that you consider that over 2016-2019, the price for this performance tier fell from $380 to $230.
The 2 extra GB of VRAM is starting to make the 1070 pull a bit ahead of the 1660 Super.

My EVGA GTX 1070 FTW at 2100Mhz clock and max 61 degree temp beats all this. Glad I kept it.
I kept mine as well, I was gonna buy my brothers GTX 1080 Ti Founders but he decided to keep it after all.

Appreciate the benchmark comparisons. The use of graphs and colors is a nightmare. Way to much text in comparison to many of other methods to display data. The videos are quality but the layout is one of the worst for benchmarks out there. Just a mess to look at. But better then what I could do.

Pretty decent for vr too. I originally had the 3050 in my vr rig, but my youngest wanted the 3050 in his. So, now he got the 3050 in his and i got the 1660s in the vr rig.

Im curently playing Dying Light 2 with GTX1070, I7 4770k and 16GB DDR3 1866Mhz. Im using medium settings on 1080p and im getting 70fps average. You are testing with Ryzen 5 5600X and DDR4 3600MHz and you are getting only 63fps average with low graphics settings? Sorry bro, but there is something wrong with your benchmarking.

Well, either the benchmark was wildly inconsistent and therfore useless, or the data from the benchmarks proves that these 3 cards perform practically the same.
Here I was thinking my 7 year old gtx1070 was getting outdated, but a 1660S couldn't even beat it? Maybe we should've just summed up this video in 2 seconds: all 3 cards perform equally across multiple games

@@valtv8136 If you overclock it, its actually better than the 1070 believe it or not.
@@noble1064 We can always overclock 1070, and you can’t fix the difference, sometimes reaching 10fps between 1070 and 980ti, by overclocking, here you need to say thanks to the nvidia drivers, in 2016 in overclocking 980ti, not everyone could do stock 1070, and sometimes overclocked, but not now.
