OK. He's understating the Purify situation a bit. Priest continued to be the worst class in the game after Karazhan and when he says the Silence Priest deck "needed another set", he means Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, for which Team 5 later admitted that they deliberately overbuffed the Priest cards to make up for how poor the class was. Kabal Talonpriest, Potion of Madness, Drakonid Operative (originally a 5 mana 5/6), Dragonfire Potion, Raza the Chained, all became staples in Priest decks for the next year. In fact, out of the 9 cards printed for the class, only one (Mana Geode) didn't appear in a competitive deck, which was basically unprecedented for a set release at the time. So, yes, Purify (Silence) Priest did become a thing, but it wasn't because of Purify. It was because Mean Streets was so jacked up because the class was so awful.
The Purifying Power callback is even better than Brian gives credit for... if you are newish to Hearthstone, do yourself a favour and search up Kripp's reaction video to the Yu-Gi-Oh purifying priest parody video - truly one of the best moments in this game's entire sordid history.

I feel like there has to be a viable otk with Zarimi somewhere that I don’t see anyone really considering. Like naga giants and/or the new playhouse giant into Alexstrasza? Priest can easily survive for 20 draws especially with the new 2 mana draw 2. Just run removal and card draw, 2 clay matriarchs and a couple other dragons. If you want to go really late game, run Reno despite the duplicates to limit enemy board right before Zarimi so they can’t put up a taunt wall. It is counterable, and it may not be as consistent as a more tempo/midrange use of Zarimi, but for priest of all classes a combo like this feels quite playable.
got tarim in an arena run today and he performed extraordinarily well. the effect from the mini was arguably more useful than getting the big stats on board by buffing a minion
Ugh...paladin is turning more into the, "You better be able to kill all of my minions every turn for the entire game or I will be able to delete your hero in one turn," archetype with all these stupid buffs.
The frustration at the purify reveal wasn't that it didn't have some kind of future utility, but that priest as a class was really struggling and that was the first card of that set that Blizz chose to showcase. It really did seem like they were deliberately rubbing salt in the wound. And then Brode came out and did a press release saying basically that they knew it was a bad card, it was designed as a bad card, but that they like to give players a chance to feel special for winning with bad cards 😑 And despite silence priest doing well in some regional comp somewhere, it was never a good deck and purify will always be a bad card, played in bad decks. I can respect the throwback represented by Purifying power, but I'll wager it will end up being the same 😆 The Kripp vid was legitimately awesome tho
Did Kibler know at the time of recording that multiple copies of the same aura can stack? I wonder what he'll make of the paladin cards now?

I saw Tigress Plushy 10 times already and I just realised that Is Shirvallah.
Wind-up enforcer seems good with mirage. Keep trading enforcer into deck so mirage gives you many full board plays...with a few handbuffs even better

Purifying power had to be a satiry print, because I see no other reason to do such an effect with a name like that.
