Emily Ehlers is a staff attorney with Disability Rights Iowa (DRI). She is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa, where she earned both her bachelor’s degree in political science and her law degree. Prior to DRI Emily was a public defender in western Colorado. While her work at DRI spans everything from employment to education, her practice primarily focuses on representing individuals with disabilities in Medicaid appeals. Emily is currently a HealthConnect Fellow with the Mid Iowa Health Foundation and is an active member in numerous Medicaid advocacy and policy groups.
